Possibilities of integration with Ivideon

In order not only to record streaming video on a webcam, but also to be able to view archives, manage data, you need to set up complex video surveillance. For this, there is a special software Ivideon, which is distributed, including free. To download and install it, you just need to register on the company’s website and connect a webcam to the environment. The resulting system will allow:

  • remotely access cameras, view content from any devices integrated into the system;
  • record video, store the archive on a remote server, viewing them via Internet channels. you do not have to waste space on your hard disk;
  • from a distance, imperceptibly for those in the room, to listen to what is happening at the facility, to record sounds;
  • configure alarm notifications that will be sent to the user’s smartphone or e-mail when driving, noise in the coverage area of the camera;
  • communicate over the Internet, etc.

Remote video surveillance with Ivideon products and simple but functional webcams requires much lower costs than systems with IP equipment. Another advantage of the service is simple installation.

Ivideon offers versatile programs that allow you to deploy remote video surveillance systems using webcams. If their capabilities become insufficient, the system can simply be scaled. it is compatible with other devices. Ivideon complexes integrate:

  • standard webcams connected to a PC via USB;
  • IP cameras. via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 3G / 4G networks;
  • analog and digital equipment recording and storing video content.

The solutions make it possible to quickly, without large-scale expenses, organize monitoring remotely. Even cheap 0.3 megapixel cameras can be connected to the specialized Ivideon software, and with more modern equipment the functionality of the complex increases many times over.

How surveillance via web cameras is connected

After installing the equipment, it is connected to a computer, and its operability is checked. To set up broadcasts, just connect the USB cable to the jack. If everything is in order, the Ivideon software is installed in the PC or laptop so that the camera transfers content to the device and further, via Internet channels. The software that comes with the cameras supports only basic options, they are not enough for full surveillance.

To configure the equipment and synchronize it with the software, you need:

  • install the original camera drivers supplied by the manufacturer;
  • launch the Ivideon Server program for stationary PCs. online surveillance is configured with it;
  • register in the environment. after a simple procedure, the program will automatically start, a service window will appear on the monitor, all active, connected webcams will be added to it;
  • right-click on the line with the name of the camera to open a window with the video that it broadcasts;
  • click on the “Run” pointer on the server to access the video in real time.

In addition to watching video, the software configures recording when moving in the frame, online broadcasting, changes the video quality, sets a warning alarm, etc. To get remote access to the video surveillance system from mobile devices, you can download the Ivideon client for gadgets on Android, iPhone, etc.

Remote video surveillance, organized in real time, greatly increases the security of your home or office, allows you to get information at any time about what is happening at the facility. To create a useful and convenient complex, different equipment is used, including powerful equipment. an IP camera, a video recorder, etc. However, a simpler solution is often sufficient.

Features of remote video surveillance using webcams

The remote video surveillance system, in addition to webcams (one or more), includes a PC or laptop, as well as extension cords, cables for connecting elements. Special drivers and software must be installed on the “base” computer. Webcams can be built-in or external. in the second case they are connected, synchronized with a PC, mainly via USB.

The service deployed using Ivideon solutions will protect the owner of an apartment or a country house from unpleasant surprises, simplify control of workplaces. The system is simply installed on one, several objects, access to video data is opened with a password, from a personal account. Information security of users is guaranteed by the company. the video stream is protected from interception of data, intranet signal. The company’s technical support will provide assistance and advice at any time.

Ivideon products that use webcams have many advantages:

  • video equipment and lenses effectively prevent theft, vandalism due to the psychological impact on intruders and hooligans. according to statistics, at sites with web cameras, much less crimes are recorded;
  • the system is deployed with minimal expenditure of money and time. no need to spend money on special equipment, purchase of software, cameras are set up quickly and easily;

remote video surveillance complexes with high-definition cameras shoot video in improved quality, videos can be viewed remotely, from portable gadgets, PCs, etc.

Remote services Ivideon for security systems

Online surveillance opens up vast opportunities not only for protecting private spaces. houses, apartments, summer cottages, entrances. Ivideon solutions, compatible with standard web cameras, are used to monitor personnel. nannies watching small children, builders, workers, cleaners. The products are convenient for tracking workplaces, employees or subordinates, cars in a parking lot, etc.

One of the areas of application of the available complexes is to ensure the security of commercial facilities. Professional security systems are easily deployed on a simple, low-cost platform. They:

  • give a much clearer image than analog ones. you can see all the actions of people present at the object;
  • convenient to use. employees will not have to be distracted by time-consuming setup;
  • open up additional possibilities. the integration of cameras with remote control equipment, rotary mechanisms, etc.

Instructions for setting up video surveillance via the Internet

Before proceeding with the configuration, read the article Hacking IP Cameras

The setup process for all DVRs and IP cameras is the same, the only differences are in the Web interface and ports. Therefore, this instruction for setting up video surveillance via the Internet will be true for almost all modern DVR, NVR and IP cameras. Consider setting up without organizing VPN tunnels using the example of the Hikvision DS-7316HI-ST video recorder.

2.Open Internet Explorer go to Service. Internet Properties. Security. Other. Allow ActiveX to restart the browser.

UPD: Since this article was written, many IP devices began to support work in other browsers Mozila Firefox, Google chrome, Safari, Opera.

In the browser, we type the IP of the registrar http://192.168.1.64, we get to the authorization page, enter the login and password. A web interface will appear with a proposal to install the plug-in. Install it. After that, for some devices, restarting Internet Explorer is again required.

If the plug-in installation fails, save the plug-in to your computer hard drive, close Internet Explorer, start the plug-in installation.

Checking the operation of the registrar on the internal network.

Now you can proceed to setting up the operation of the DVR via the Internet. Our recorder uses 80 and 8000 ports. Port 80 is the HTTP port that is used by many devices to access their web interface. To avoid conflicts, change it to 81 in the DVR settings. If there are several DVRs or IP cameras in the network, then the next one can be assigned 82.83, etc. ports. Also, for the second and subsequent registrars, it will be necessary to change the numbers of the second port. We register port 81 and 8000 in the virtual server of the D-Link DI-804HV router.

You can check open ports on the services http://portscan.ru/ and http://2ip.ru/check-port/ The port will be shown open only if it is forwarded in the virtual server and the device using these ports is connected to the network.

On the remote computer from which we plan to conduct surveillance, repeat step 2. In the address bar of the browser, enter the external IP and port number 81 in the form http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:81 repeat step 3, rejoice at the result.

Now, if you have client software for your DVR (IP camera), we configure it according to the instructions on the software.

No static external IP

When accessing the registrar via the Internet, I get to the web interface of the router.

  • Check all ports in the settings of the virtual server, perhaps the port that you assigned to the registrar is already in use.

When accessing the registrar via the Internet, nothing happens.

  • Check port configuration make sure device is working.
  • Antivirus and firewall software can interfere.
  • If there is no external IP and using DynDNS, the provider may close some ports.

Unable to install ActiveX control.

  • Old version of Internet Explorer.
  • ActiveX control not allowed in IE settings.
  • Disable User Account Control when using Windows vista and windows7.

Login page appears, but does not go further.

  • Not all ports used by the registrar are registered in the virtual server.
  • Antivirus and firewall software can interfere.

You can read about video surveillance using cloud services here http://www.videosignalka.ru/articles/oblako

a few additions:
1 it is convenient to use SADP to change the address (for Hikvision devices). This utility will automatically find a device even in another, by default, the addresses of all devices 192.0.0.64 (for Hikvision devices), subnets and will allow you to change the address to the desired one.
2 it is better to configure the browser differently than in the screenshots above, otherwise the security level for all addresses will change. and this can lead to undesirable consequences, for example, infection with a virus, etc. a more correct and safer way is described in the FAQ. how to install ActiveX in Internet Explorer to work with the camera ?
5. What ports do the cameras use ?

If you do not know English, then look at the pictures.
it is also desirable in the transport settings, tcp is selected on the screen, set the ability to work udp. sometimes it is called tcp-ip \ udp, sometimes both. depends on the firmware of the router. if it is not possible to select both transports for a port in one rule, you can create another rule for this port, but with a different transport. choosing the udp protocol sometimes helps to get a faster connection to the device. more about protocol difference on wiki.

When accessing the registrar via the Internet, nothing happens.
you can check if the ports are open or not by using services such as 2ip.ru or telnet to the desired port, a search on the site will show examples of use.
Unable to install ActiveX control.
ActiveX Control is not registered in InternetExploler for a detailed discussion of issues related to IE of different versions and OS. When using Windows vista and windows7, the browser’s “compatibility mode” may be required, the compatibility mode button is located immediately after the address bar: another note: usually routers themselves adjust to the provider’s MTU, but with a direct connection or if the router could not adjust, sometimes it is necessary to adjust the MTU value :

for example, to work in the Beeline network, the mtu value must be adjusted to 1460. otherwise, packet loss is possible and, as a result, the connection is not stable.

ORGANIZATION OF REMOTE ACCESS FOR ONE VIDEO CAMERA

A CCTV camera for an office or apartment can be connected directly through the provider’s cable. In this case, remote access can be obtained using a dedicated IP address (now it is not as difficult and expensive as a few years ago) or through one of the DDNS services.

Consider the first connection method, as the simplest:

  • The IP camcorder is connected to a computer via a USB port. In the address bar of any browser, its ip-address is entered. You can find it from the label on the camera or box or from the user manual;
  • After entering the web interface, we find the “Network Settings” section. Almost all models and manufacturers have it in the “Network” or “Network Connection” tabs;
  • In the network settings, we find the “Ip-address” tab and switch from the “Receive automatically” position to the “Register manually” position;
  • The field for entering the IP address is activated, we write in it the dedicated ip-address provided by the provider. Specify 80 as the port for the incoming connection;
  • In the “Security” section, change the username and password from the factory to your own.

Remote access to the video surveillance camera can be obtained from any device connected to the Internet, if you enter the following HTTP address in the browser address bar: // [85.166.166.50]: 80. An example of a white IP address is written in square brackets. Instead, you must enter your own, received from the provider and without parentheses.

The open port number is written after the colon. In most cases, it is 80, but for some providers it may be closed. If, after all the actions and strict adherence to the instructions, access is not obtained, you need to contact the provider to technical support and find out which port is open for incoming connections.

REMOTE SURVEILLANCE CAMERA

Remote access to CCTV cameras can be implemented in the following options:

Coaxial cable, twisted pair and fiber optic are used as data transmission media. The first two options, even without the use of various signal amplifiers, will be able to provide high-quality images at a distance of no more than 100 m.

If you use analog high-definition cameras (AHD, HD-TVI or HD-CVI technologies), then the transmission range of a high-quality signal over a coaxial cable will increase up to 500 m, and with the use of amplifiers over twisted pair up to 3-4 km.

Broadcasting of video data via fiber can be carried out at a distance of up to several tens of kilometers. However, to organize such remote access, rather expensive equipment (media converters) is required, the total cost of the system will be simply exorbitant.

These methods are suitable for medium to large CCTV systems with tens to hundreds of video cameras.

For small users, the best solution would be to organize remote access to one or more video cameras via the Internet.

Remote video surveillance via the Internet will be useful, first of all, to individuals. This will allow you to control employees of a small enterprise, a summer cottage, a garage, an apartment, etc.

At the same time, IP video surveillance cameras are most often used, which provide a wider range of functions and network settings.

It is allowed to use analog cameras, but in this case, to obtain remote access, you need network equipment, which is a router or video recorder.

CONNECTING VIA ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

The previous methods were good if you need to connect one CCTV camera, while it occupies the Internet line provided by the provider. It is unlikely that an ordinary user will conclude an additional contract for the provision of Internet services to obtain remote access to one CCTV camera for an office or apartment.

often, there are situations when it is necessary to obtain remote access to several video cameras and at the same time retain the ability to use the Internet. For this, additional equipment is introduced into the system. a router and / or a video recorder.

This connection method is suitable when using ip-video cameras in the amount of 2-5 pcs. In this case, a dedicated ip-address is assigned to the router itself, which forms its own local subnet, which includes all video cameras, each with its own local ip-address.

The configuration is performed in the following sequence:

The router connects to the PC via the rg45 port. In the address bar of the browser, the IP address is typed, and then in the window that appears, the login and password. This data can be found on the packaging or in those documentation of the router.

We go to the section “Routing” or “Virtual Server” (different manufacturers call it differently) and create rules for forwarding external requests for each video camera.

In the line of the ip-address we write the local IP address of the video camera, for example, [192.168.50.10] and assign it the external port 8087. This rule will redirect the request to the internal port 80 of this particular IP video camera. The next device is assigned port 8087, and so on.

We connect all IP cameras in turn to the PC. And we register static local ip-addresses, which were previously registered in the router. The port either remains by default 80 or is assigned manually. We also register a unique username and password (be the same for all cameras).

All camcorders are connected to the router via an rj45 cable connection or a WI-FI channel.

Allows not only to view information coming directly online, but also to remotely work with the archive. Camcorders and a router are configured in the same way as in the previous paragraph. To configure the DVR, almost the same steps are performed.

The device is connected to a PC or a monitor and mouse are connected to it. The local ip-address is registered in the network settings section. In this case, it is necessary that the IP address of the DVR and the router are in the same subnet, that is, they have the following form:

  • video recorder [192.168.50.01];
  • router, “Virtual Service” tab [192.168.50.5].

HIDDEN CAMERA FOR REMOTE VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

Let’s consider a special case for covert video surveillance. A hidden video camera can be either wired or radio channel. WI-FI. In the first case, the instruction remains unchanged, in the second, it is necessary to configure the camera’s access to the WI-FI router.

For most manufacturers, access can be configured by performing the following steps (for some models, the connection algorithm may differ):

  • The software is installed on the PC. As a rule, it comes with a camcorder. But if necessary, you can download from the official website of the manufacturer.
  • WI-FI camcorder connects to the LAN port of the WI-FI router with a patch cord rj45.
  • The installed program is launched and you enter the “Camera settings” tab.
  • Searching for a signal. This button can be located in the “Connect” or “Establish WI-FI Connection” tabs.
  • After the camera is found, you will be prompted to enter the password for the WI-FI network.

Then some models of WI-FI camcorder reboot. During this time, the camera must not be disconnected from the power cable. After the end of the reboot, the camcorder is disconnected from the network cable and transferred to a hidden installation location.

CONNECTING VIA WI-FI PROTECTED SETUP (WPS)

This method of obtaining remote access to a WI-FI camcorder is possible only if the equipment supports WPS technology.

Information about this can be obtained from the manufacturer’s website by selecting the appropriate model. Also, the pictogram is located both on the packaging and on the body of the video camera itself (for example, as in the figure on the right).

The WPS function can be activated in several ways. On the camera body there is a corresponding button signed by WPS. If there is the same button on the router case, they must be pressed in turn at an interval not exceeding 2 minutes.

The second option is to activate the function via software. Login to the router and camera program is carried out in the same way as described by entering the IP address in the browser. Software that also supports this technology is installed on a mobile device or PC.

Of the most common programs, the following can be distinguished:

  • UniFi Video;
  • TinyCam Monitor;
  • MEyePro (MEyeProHD).

This software allows you to work not only with routers, but also with network video recorders (NVR).

REMOTE VIEWING FOR OUTDOOR CAMERAS

Outdoor cameras can also be with signal transmission via cable, WI-FI or GSM channel. The settings for the first two options were discussed in the previous sections. Let’s consider the third method of data transmission via GSM channel.

Outdoor GSM video surveillance cameras, as a rule, are installed at remote sites, where it is problematic to lay a cable telephone line or a cable from a provider. Setting up such a camera begins with installing the software.

In the settings window (Media), the corresponding value of the shooting quality, the interval of the motion sensor, the number of photos or the duration of the video when triggered, the sensitivity of the motion sensor, as well as the login and password are selected.

Then, depending on the manufacturer, there may be one or two tabs responsible for configuring the network. They can be called MMS / SMTP, Video / NET or something similar. These tabs indicate the country and mobile operator whose SIM card will be used.

After that, the setting for obtaining information is carried out:

  • for MMS messages the phone number is indicated in the international format
  • for video and audio files, as well as photos, an e-mail is indicated (with a password).

Remote viewing online can be carried out through the software of the video camera installed on the client device or the manufacturer’s cloud service.

Setting up remote access to a CCTV camera is a fairly simple procedure. It can be done using the manufacturer’s instructions or the material provided in the article.

However, there are some undocumented nuances that can block the operation of the camera. To prevent this from happening, consult a specialist when choosing equipment and a company that provides the simplest setting conditions.

INTERNET SURVEILLANCE CAMERA

The development of digital wired and WI-FI technologies has led to the emergence of such multifunctional devices as an IP camera for video surveillance over the Internet, which, in fact, is a fully functional video surveillance system.

In the case of such a device, in addition to the digital video camera itself, there is a microprocessor circuit, ports for connecting with other devices that provide Internet access, a built-in storage device and / or a slot for a flash memory card.

Connection with other devices can be both wired and WI-FI. Thus, we are talking about combining a digital video camera with a computer in one miniature body.

Structurally, the IP (WI-FI) video camera includes the following functional elements:

  • lens with optical filter and CCD matrix;
  • video compression module;
  • central processing unit with a pre-installed IP server;
  • random access memory and / or flash drive;
  • wired and / or wireless WI-FI port for connecting to the Internet;
  • outputs for connecting executive devices;
  • power input.

To connect the camcorder to the Internet, it must be connected to a modem or computer. The connection can be made via a network cable or wirelessly using WI-FI technology (if the camera is equipped with this option). If you need to connect several digital cameras to the video surveillance system, you will need a router.

The connection should be made in accordance with the technical instructions supplied with the device. Usually, the accompanying documentation indicates the IP address that should be assigned to this device in the local network.

By typing this address in a computer browser, you can connect to the video camera to view the image or configure it.

However, the video camera has a static IP address identifier only in this local network, therefore, access to it for viewing by this parameter is possible only from devices connected to this network (including WI-FI). Using this technology, you can organize video surveillance of the territory of a private house or office.

At the same time, the digital video cameras used are connected to the same Internet gateway via a router and have internal static IP addresses. Video viewing is possible from any computer or other device connected to this network, for example, from a smartphone connected via WI-FI.

SPECIALIZED SURVEILLANCE SOFTWARE

To implement such configurations of video surveillance systems, there is special software that makes it easier to view video images received from cameras. An example is the Macroscop program, with which you can organize video surveillance of an object using an unlimited number of video cameras for viewing.

It is possible to use various standards of video and sound reproduction when viewing, change the image resolution within the limits available for the camera. PTZ cameras are controlled. The program is paid.

There are a number of free software solutions for organizing IP video surveillance. An example is INFINITY IVMS. This software package is tailored for the use of INFINITY video devices and has the following functionality:

  • the ability to connect and view up to 64 IP video devices;
  • program for automatic search of all INFINITY video devices in the network;
  • various options for viewing mode. full-screen, multi-screen, cyclic;
  • multi-stream video mode, which reduces the hardware load;
  • configuring cameras without using the web interface, using the program itself;
  • the ability to combine several devices into groups;
  • motion control of rotary mechanisms of video devices;
  • generation of alarm signals.

REMOTE VIEWING VIDEO FROM AN EXTERNAL NETWORK

Such an opportunity, how to watch CCTV cameras via the Internet in real time, while being at any distance from the controlled object, is one of the most attractive aspects of using this type of equipment.

The function of such viewing can be implemented in several ways, depending on the type of IP address of the Internet connection at the video surveillance facility.

The provider provides a static IP when connecting to the Internet.

Usually the gateway for connecting to the global network is a modem that combines the functions of a router, which in this case owns a static (permanent) address identifier in the network.

If we assume that you need to connect only one IP camera, then you can do without a router with a modem. In this case, the video device is connected to a modem with a conventional network “twisted pair”, or over a wireless WI-FI network. Knowing the static address of the modem, it is enough to type it in the address bar of the browser and it will connect directly to the camera.

In the case of connecting several video devices and using a wired or WI-FI router, you need to make a more careful configuration.

Assigning its own internal IP to each camera is a mandatory procedure; for this, these addresses are explicitly registered in the modem settings. In addition, in order to view surveillance cameras via the Internet, you must specify the external port number for each video device.

for instance,

  • static address of the modem 192.168.1.1;
  • the internal address of the first video device is 192.168.1.2;
  • second. 192.168.1.3 and so on.

Now, in the router settings, you should assign external ports for each video device. For example, the external port of the first video device is 8082, the second is 8083, and so on.

In the same settings window, you should specify which internal device is connected to via the corresponding external port. Here you need to bind each external port number to the internal IP of a specific video device.

After finishing the settings, access to CCTV cameras via the Internet can be done as follows. In the address bar of the browser, type http: // Your static IP address: Port. In this case, it will look like this:

  • http: // Your static IP address: 8082 is the path to the first video device;
  • http: // Your static IP address: 8083. the path to the second video device and so on.

If a WI-FI camera is used in the system being created for video surveillance via the Internet, along with a modem, a WI-FI router must be used, which provides wireless Internet distribution. IP WI-FI camera for video surveillance via the Internet is a more convenient device that does not require a wired connection to the router.

Now let’s figure out how to view video from CCTV cameras via the Internet, in the case when the provider did not provide a static address when connecting to the Internet. In this case, the value of the address is assigned dynamically, that is, with each connection it will be new.

Thus, viewing CCTV cameras via the Internet online by connecting using a network address is not possible. In this option, you cannot do without special network services that bind an IP address to a domain name.

One example of this kind of service is DynDns. The essence of working with such services is as follows. An account is registered on the service website (in this case, dyndns.com), in which certain names are assigned to all video cameras from which it is supposed to view the image. Further, before you connect to a video surveillance camera via the Internet for viewing, you must specify the site of the server used in its settings.

Turn Webcam into Security Camera and viewing on your Mobile | NETVN

After that, with each connection to the Internet, video surveillance devices will be connected to the specified site, and the user of this account will be able to view any of them. In this case, it is also possible to use special programs that provide various viewing modes.

It should be emphasized that in this option it is possible to view video cameras located in different parts of the planet from anywhere in the world with Internet access.

Site materials are for informational purposes only and cannot be used as guidelines and official documents.

Digital surveillance system

The complex of protective measures for the protection of the territory comes down to many factors. One of them is video surveillance. The use and interaction with several modern network cameras can be considered a digital surveillance system. Typically, digital systems are used to monitor large areas and operate on one of two technologies: SDI or IP.

Connecting video surveillance to the Internet with your own hands

Computerization and interaction with technology has reached the point where everyone can easily manage the setup of almost any electronic device. Organizing video surveillance via the Internet with your own hands today is quite simple. All you need is the accompanying tools, binding material and instructions that you just opened on the Internet.

general description

In SDI technology, data is streamed, and the bandwidth corresponds to HDSDI 1080p resolution transmitted at a speed of 1.5 Gb / s. The signal is transmitted over coaxial or optical cable. The technology allows you to transmit a video stream without delays and interruptions, and there is no effect on the picture from radio hovering and interference. The image is not distorted, the color rendition also does not lose color.

SDI can be compared to the technology of data transmission over the ATM network, which is used by banks for terminals, ATMs and other banking equipment connected to a single network.

IP technology operates over the TCP / IP protocol. Data is transmitted in packets in the local network to the first switch via twisted pair, and then along the chain they go to the Internet. Due to a cheaper solution as a router, unable to keep the bandwidth at the same level and clog it with other traffic, the camera image starts to lag.

There are also other connection technologies. Five years ago, when new capacities were required from IP, and the technology could not realize this at that time, the second wind opened not in the digital, but in the analog signal. Having adopted SDI, the research was not in vain and three directions (descendants) of SDI were formed at once, such as HD-CVI, HD-TVI and AHD.

Although the development of the latter direction of AHD is abandoned and as a rival to developing technologies, it makes no sense to put it. CVI and TVI can be characterized as a complement to IP and SDI, which, according to certain parameters, even bypass digital technologies in some way.

Through the Internet

Allocation of an IP address is required to view cameras online via the Internet. An external individual code is also needed to interact with the Ivideon service. The internal address allows you to organize only work in the local network. To create a code, a port is used to transmit an external signal to a video camera.

You are logged into the web interface of the router, for which the standard code 192.168.1.1 is written in the browser line. The user chooses a name and password, in the factory settings, usually admin / admin. In an additional application, you need to go to the WAN sub-item to set up port forwarding. Selected section “Virtual server” in Russian or English letters.

  • the name of the camera, for example, by the premises of the house;
  • port number, usually 808X, the last digit indicates the number of the video device;
  • IP address similar to the specified parameter;
  • the port that is registered in the settings of the video camera, if not, then you need to write Internal port. 80;
  • protocol is put. TCP.

After that, you can connect to the camera from any gadget to view pictures.

The operation of the video device is configured via an Internet browser or using professional utilities, for example, Ivideon Server.

Necessary equipment for organizing a video surveillance system

The formation of an observation system at the facility is not a difficult task, the user successfully copes with it with a minimum amount of information in the area of the PC and the corresponding equipment.

The digital recorder receives the recordings from the tracking device, processes the incoming signals from the analog camera and records them on the information carrier. The memory block can be stationary, such as a hard drive, or removable. Requires connection to the server or software interface to configure the IP camera for monitoring over the Internet.

In the first case, you need to log into the browser and use a specific page. Registrar manufacturers provide customer with instructions on how to download a browser plug-in to facilitate connection. The software interface assumes work through the software that goes on the hard disk when selling equipment.

The DVR, router, camera are connected via a local network using cables or wirelessly. The router organizes a local network if it is formed via WI-FI and serves to communicate with the Internet. Programs and utilities provide remote viewing on a computer or TV.

Internet connection to CCTV cameras

One of the useful functions of information technology is access to CCTV cameras via the Internet. Live recordings and broadcasts are viewed from different parts of the world. You can watch what is happening from a device that connects to the WI-FI network. The camcorder combines a module for generating sound and digital video stream, as well as a lens and a memory unit.

Ways to connect to a CCTV camera

The instructions provide information on how the camera works. The device operates without an injector via a network wire via PoE. The removed features may only be available with a specific browser, such as newer Firefox or Chrome, other installations use an outdated version of IE. The broadcast format on the Internet also differs, some require VLC, others work with Flash Player or Java.

Connection is made in the following ways:

  • WI-FI. wireless transmission;
  • Ethernet. a cable bus (twisted pair) is used;
  • PoE. wired connection, but power goes through individual wires of a pair, not other cables, an injector is required.

The camera is protected from hacking with a password and location address. Individual IP code is not a secret, as is located at a standard address, and the tracking modules easily respond to queries from search engines. CAPTCHA input is added to exclude automated intrusions. Modern monitoring modules include self-tuning functions and easily interact with various services and programs.

Via computer

Used digital devices of the class CVI, TVI, AHD. The power adapter is not sold with the camcorder, it is purchased separately. 12V / 1A module is used for different types of cameras.

  • coaxial cable transmits a high-quality signal for 100 meters without amplifiers;
  • twisted pair combines 8 wires and reduces the cost of laying individual wires.

Analog models are connected directly to a computer using a video capture card. The devices are installed in the system unit in a PCI-e or PCI slot with 4-16 pin inputs. This method is not suitable for a laptop. Another method is to use a USB converter. The inexpensive module is compatible with laptops and computers, but is not very reliable. Remotely the recording can be seen if you connect the device to the Internet.

Modern IP cameras are designed to connect video surveillance to the Internet, but you can make a wired connection through the DVR and directly to the computer. A coaxial cable is installed at a distance of up to 100 m. If you need to transmit information further, twisted pair with amplifying transmitters are used.

Through the TV

Such a connection to cameras means only online surveillance without recording and adjusting from a distance. This option applies if the monitor has a composite signal input. If there is no connector, a converter with a resolution of 740 x 576 BNC-VGA is purchased. If the camera has a high quality lens, it will deteriorate. a similar characteristic of the conductor corresponds to a resolution of 420 TVL.

The video signal is fed to the center contact, and the shield is connected to the external one. For analog devices with wire outputs, an adapter is made. On the one hand, the BNC is turned on, and on the other, the tulip connector is placed. The connection is made with a coaxial cable (resistance 75 Ohm), the power supply is connected.

  • button “SOURCE” on the TV or on the remote control;
  • on the OSD menu, go to the sub-item “composite” or “AV”.

If the camcorder is equipped with four outputs, most often there are two pairs of wires. Yellow conducts the signal, and red sends power. The rest unite and work in a common mode. In order not to be mistaken, you need to study the instructions, where there are instructions on this issue.

Specifications when choosing a camcorder

Analog cameras are directly connected to the screen of the receiving device and work with PAL and NTSC video signals. The devices record information on a computer or video recorder. Digital IP cameras convert information into digital format and broadcast the image to the cloud via wireless transmission over 4G, WI-FI, 3G networks. The user observes the situation, being far from the object on the screen of the phone, smartphone and other gadget.

When buying, pay attention to the quality of the lens, which is provided by the number of megapixels. The sensitivity of the matrix and the possibility of using it in a wide range of dynamics depend on the number of points on the screen.

Features that you need to pay attention to in order to connect to a CCTV camera without problems:

  • manual parameter setting:
  • the presence of a video input and output for direct connection to a TV;
  • type of battery (lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium);
  • color or black and white.

The photosensitivity of the device plays a role, since observation is carried out around the clock. The infrared camera works in the dark. If this property is not in the specifications, the IR illuminator is purchased separately.

Setting up remote access to video surveillance

You can get the job done by using a cloud server, mobile Internet, or via a computer. The first method requires a minimum of effort. The subscriber part of the program from the proposed service list is installed on the control device. The setting is done according to the instructions provided with the software. This method works with mobile and cable internet.

The setting option is gaining popularity through a WI-FI router and direct access to a video camera. The second method is more mobile, but it is carried out in the presence of special types of cameras and corresponding computer programs.

Most often, video surveillance devices are equipped with software, where there is detailed instructions for setting operating parameters. The process consists in setting up the LAN, accessing the Internet from the server, connecting and installing the camera. The program independently finds a video camera and determines its MAC and IP address. Distributed programs “Line”, Axxon Next and Ivideon, which differ in the number of simultaneously servicing video devices.

In the absence of a dedicated IP address, as mentioned above, it is impossible to “find” your video surveillance system in the Internet space. Therefore, there are services that, for a certain monthly fee, from 2 rubles per day per camera, provide the service of connecting your video surveillance system without a dedicated IP address. Instead, they give you an account with a dedicated IP address attached.

An additional server is installed at the facility where your video surveillance system is installed. It automatically connects to the Internet, registers with a specialized service under a specific username and password, which will act as a substitute for the dedicated IP address. Further, in order to view remote video cameras, you need to dial on your phone, tablet or computer not an IP address, but a login and password to access the service.

Surveillance over the Internet with a dedicated IP address.

Remote video surveillance requires a dedicated (static) IP address. Since without it, it is not clear how to find your video system in the endless Internet space. Need addressing, some kind of data, typing which on your computer or tablet will connect with your video server. This requires a dedicated (static) IP address. The address is unique on the whole planet, allocated for you by an Internet provider and attached specifically to your video surveillance system.

In today’s dynamic age of high speeds and high technologies, online video surveillance of an object: an office, an apartment, a warehouse or a cottage is no longer a rarity. Viewing video cameras remotely is a convenience, and even a necessity, allowing you to freely move around the world, controlling processes in workplaces, warehouses, and any other objects. Information received from remote cameras allows monitoring the situation and making decisions quickly. There is no need to periodically come and ask the trustee how things are, spend extra time on this. It is enough during the day, during breaks, to turn on online cameras on your mobile phone or work computer, and immediately get a video image in real time.

Remotely access and control your IP Cameras from anywhere.

Influence of Internet connection speed on the quality of an online video stream.

The quality of the transmitted image depends on the speed of the Internet connection. Or rather, from 2 Internet connections. First, at the facility itself, where video surveillance is installed, the outgoing speed is important there. The second at the place of viewing: if it is a home computer, then the speed of the home Internet, if it is a tablet or mobile phone, then from the speed of 3 / 4g connection, which varies depending on your location.

The minimum outgoing speed of the Internet connection for receiving online video images should be 0.3-0.5 Mbps. At this speed, you can view one or two analog video cameras with more or less acceptable quality.

With an Internet speed of 0.9-1.5 Mbps, you can comfortably watch four, eight channel analog systems or one or two IP video cameras. And even view the video archive.

With an Internet speed of 3-6 Mbit / s, systems based on several IP video cameras, and any analog systems will already work comfortably. Convenient and fast enough viewing of the video archive will be available.

When organizing video surveillance systems for 16 or more IP cameras, high speed Internet connections are required.

Remote viewing of CCTV cameras via the Internet

Modern communication technologies allow a lot and bring into our life such pleasant and useful features as remote viewing of video cameras via the Internet. As a result of the installation of the system or a slight modification of the existing video surveillance system, you can view the image from video cameras mounted at work, at home or in the country in real time from almost anywhere in the world where the Internet is available. via laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Simply put, the internet is used instead of a wire that connects you to your system.

In this article, we will look at how it works and how to independently organize remote viewing of your video cameras.

What is needed for this.

The system video recorder must have a LAN port and / or a USB connector with support for USB modems.

If the system is assembled on a video server (computer), then, as a rule, the software (software) supports remote viewing, but it all depends on the specific software.

It is necessary to organize Internet access where the video surveillance system is installed and preferably at a good speed. We recommend the bandwidth of the Internet channel for video surveillance at least 1 Mbps. It is also desirable that the Internet Service Provider (ISP) provide you with a fixed (static) IP address. As a rule, this is an additional service, but it simplifies device configuration and connection reliability.

If the subscriber’s IP address is not fixed, but floating (dynamic), then configure the program for viewing and managing video surveillance, incl. and the transfer of pictures to the owner is very, very problematic, even if the server (video recorder) of the system has the DDNS function (which is commonly called the “web muzzle”).

It is not difficult to find out if your IP address is fixed: type in the browser search bar. “find out the IP address” and go to the site based on the search results. You will be shown your current IP address, for example: 188.168.25.125. write it down. Then you need to disconnect the Internet, reconnect it (you can turn off and on the router) and once again determine your IP address. If the address remains the same, then it is fixed.

If you plan to use a USB modem that looks like a USB flash drive, then the default IP address of such a connection will be floating (dynamic). Providers (mobile operators) in this case can provide a fixed IP-address as an additional service, but you need to find out about this in advance, because modems are sold stitched for a specific mobile network and then changing the operator without replacing the modem will be problematic. Besides,

When working with most DVRs, as well as to use the Internet, not only for the purpose of remote viewing, but also directly for the intended purpose, you must have a router.

A router is a device that organizes a local (local) network at your facility and is configured in such a way that when requested from the Internet, using certain (configured) parameters and a password, it connects the remote device to the DVR.

On the device from which you are going to view video cameras, you need to install the appropriate software. It is usually supplied on a CD with the DVR. You can also download on the Internet.

In the city, it is relatively easy to organize remote access via the Internet: as a rule, there is already an access to it. But it is quite problematic to stretch the cable to the dacha, and it is elementary to damage the stretched wires. In fact, the only way to organize video surveillance over the Internet for a summer residence is a 3G / 4G modem or other mobile (terrestrial) Internet. However, such systems, to put it mildly, do not suffer from excess capacity for any declared characteristics. And no provider will give any guarantees for it: the air is the weather, interference, the conditions for the passage of radio waves. However, such systems are also workable, albeit less reliable.

Configuring the router.

So, first of all, in order for you to have access to the video surveillance system via remote access, you need to correctly configure the router. Let’s consider the most common way to connect: the Internet. router. video recorder.

To provide network access to your registrar, you need to correctly forward the ports from the router to the registrar. Only one IP address is visible on the Internet. this is the external IP address of the router, which does not depend on the number of devices connected to it. And since the request from the external network goes first to the router, and then to the registrar, you need to tell the router to which internal (local) IP address and on which port (HTTP port number) to redirect the request to it.

Of all the actions, the most difficult for the uninitiated in the intricacies of computer networks is just setting up a router. over, the actions for routers from different manufacturers may differ. Below are examples for common routers:

The articles referenced by the links above describe the general port forwarding process. When configuring the router yourself, you will need to specify the IP address of your DVR in the local network and the corresponding port number through which the DVR will transmit the video stream (as a rule, this is port 3888). This data can be found from the settings of the DVR, or set the values you need yourself.

Setting up a smartphone or tablet

The final stage is the installation of the program on the device from which you are going to view cameras.

To do this, you need to download one of the many free applications from the AppStore or Google Play, for example: IVMS-4500, Ezviz and others. All of them are configured in about the same way. Let’s consider the setting using the example of the IVMS-4500 program.

By clicking on the Add button you open the window for adding your registrar to the program, for which you need to fill in the fields:

Device name. device name (arbitrary);

  • Address. the IP address of your internet connection;
  • Port. the port specified in the settings of your DVR for Mobile Monitoring (34599 by default);
  • User Name. an account to log into the DVR (by default admin)
  • Password. password for logging into your DVR under the account (for the admin user, by default, there is no password or also admin);
  • Max Channel. number of channels (cameras);

After setting all the parameters, click “OK”

After that you will return to the device selection menu. When you click on the device name, you will see the following tab.

When you click on a channel, the video from this channel (camera) will be displayed on the screen of the mobile device.

You can switch cameras by pressing the number button (the number corresponds to the camera number), or you can return to the device selection menu and select the channel there.

The program allows you to take photos from cameras, for this click on the button with the image of the camera.
