Troubleshooting crash 3194

If you find that the failure is hardware-based, do not try to fix the error yourself. Contact a service center for specialists to diagnose the exact cause. If problem 3194 is software-related, you can fix it yourself.

Make sure you have an up-to-date version of iTunes installed on your computer. Uninstall the program and download the latest version from the official Apple website.

The next step is to check the hosts file. As a result of some actions (for example, running the TinyUmbrella utility on the computer), entries are made in the hosts file that block the sending of requests to Apple servers.

Save your changes to the hosts file and be sure to restart your computer for the configuration to take effect. If an unknown error occurred while trying to restore iPad on Mac, follow these steps:

  • Start Finder. Select Programs. Utilities.
  • Open Terminal. Run the command “sudo nano / private / etc / hosts”.
  • Enter the password that is used when logging in.

In the Terminal window, you will see the contents of the hosts file. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, scroll down to the entry that contains the address “gs.Apple.com”. Add an ignore “#” before the entry and add a space. Remember to save the file and restart your computer.

If after editing the hosts file you still can’t restore iPad, check your antivirus and firewall.

If iTunes and Bonjour are not listed, click “Allow another application” and specify the path to the executable files of the programs. If this does not help, disable computer protection for the duration of the recovery or exclude the router by connecting the Internet cable directly to the computer’s network card.

How to put iPhone into DFU mode to recover iPhone

DFU mode is a special mode provided by developers of iOS devices and designed to update or restore the firmware of an iOS device. This mode differs from Recovery Mode in that the device is completely turned off, while the device does not react to pressing the control buttons, and the display does not load any, even freezing, images. DFU mode starts without accessing the operating system of the phone and is used in cases when the phone does not charge, does not respond to connection to a PC, does not turn on when you press buttons, or if a system error appears when restoring or updating the system via iTunes. If you are a novice user, perhaps, with the above problems, it is better to contact the specialists or to the Apple service center in your city. DFU operation

If iPhone recovery does not work in Recovery Mode, then you need to enter the device into DFU mode. This mode is used when there are software errors. for example, when the iPhone will not turn on. DFU mode works at a hardware level, so it helps to perform a factory reset even in the most difficult cases. To enter DFU mode:

  • Connect your device to your computer.
  • Press and hold Power and Home for 10 seconds.
  • When you count to 10, release Power while continuing to hold the Home button.

It is difficult to enter DFU mode the first time, as nothing changes on the screen. If the recovery mode detects itself with the iTunes icon, then the phone does not seem to turn on in DFU. Therefore, you need to look at the computer screen where iTunes is running. As soon as the iPhone enters DFU mode, a notification will appear in iTunes informing that the program has detected the device in recovery mode, and you need to reset all settings and content to continue working with your smartphone.

If you need to install a different firmware, then hold down Shift and click “Restore”. An explorer will appear, through which you need to specify the path to the previously downloaded firmware.

Recovery order

To restore iPhone, you need to enter Recovery Mode. It is easy to do this:

  • Connect the USB cable to your computer. Do not connect your smartphone yet.
  • Turn off your iPhone. Hold down the Home button and, while holding it, connect your smartphone to the computer. The device will boot up and the iTunes icon and USB cable will appear on the screen. Recovery mode is activated, you can reset the iPhone DO to the factory state (with deletion of settings and content) or reflash the device.

When iPhone is ready to roll back and fix errors, click the “Restore” button.

iTunes will independently find the current firmware version and install it on the smartphone, returning it to the state in which it was immediately after purchase.

Recovery without a computer

If the computer is not at hand, it does not turn on, or you cannot connect an iPhone to it, then try resetting all settings through the device’s settings. As a result of this operation, you will get a clean smartphone without settings and user information, so be sure to make a backup before resetting. If the smartphone turns on normally:

  • Go to basic settings.
  • Go to the “Reset” menu.
  • Select the erase mode for settings and content.

It is not necessary to delete custom files. If the iPhone turns on, you can fix the malfunctioning by a simple factory reset. In this case, the user’s personal data will remain intact.

Recovery after a reset

If you need to restore your iPhone after resetting all settings and deleting content, then you won’t be able to do this without a backup. The presence of a backup file with information stored in the device’s memory is the main point that you need to check before performing a reset. After iPhone is rolled back to factory state, all personal data of the user is erased from it.

Create a backup before factory reset:

  • Connect iPhone to Computer.
  • Launch iTunes. Open the page of the connected device.
  • On the Browse tab, find the Backups field. See when the last copy was made to see if it is up to date. If not, click “Create a copy now”.

When you reset your iPhone, it will be as good as new, with no content or settings left on it. To get all the information back, you need to connect the device to your computer and restore from a backup via iTunes. Choose the most recent backup, as it contains the most relevant information.

You can also restore all settings after a reset through iCloud, provided that you have stored backups on the cloud. In this case, when setting up the iPhone, you need to select the “Restore a copy from iCloud” option and specify the appropriate backup.

Unsuccessful firmware, incorrect jailbreak, incorrect iOS update. if you know how to restore an iPhone, you can fix almost any malfunction that occurs during the operation of this device.

Recovery problems

If after a normal recovery the phone does not turn on, then it makes sense to put it into DFU mode and try to restore it again through iTunes. This time you should not trust iTunes: download the official firmware and select it in the explorer window by holding Shift and clicking on the “Restore” button.

Sometimes the TinyUmbrella utility helps to solve the problem that the smartphone does not turn on after a factory reset via iTunes. This program has an “Exit Recovery” button. If the iPhone does not turn on after the recovery, you need to select it in the TinyUmbrella window and click “Exit Recovery”.

If, when connected to iTunes, the iPhone turns on normally, but does not recover, but goes into standby mode, then the first thing to do is to try to restart the device.

  • Hold down the Power and Home buttons.
  • Wait for the device to boot back up.
  • Connect your smartphone to your computer and try to restore again.

If the wait drags on again, try removing the SIM card from the device. The next step is to put the iPhone into DFU mode and restore with the firmware that you downloaded yourself.

If software methods, cable replacement and connection to another computer do not remove the message “Waiting for iPhone”, then you should contact the service center for a solution. Waiting too long may be due to a breakdown of the power controller, damage to the battery, or other mechanical problems.

    iPhone Error

“The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error has occurred (4013) “.

Have you ever received this message? Well, since you are reading this here, I will assume that you have, which is why you want to know more about it. Well, to put it simply, this is a common error in iOS devices called iPhone Error 4013. As this error usually occurs when trying to restore iPhone using iTunes, also nicknamed iTunes Error 4013.

So if you want to know more about iPhone error 4013 or how to fix iPhone error 4013, then read on.

How to fix error 4013 when restoring iPhone

You can fix the bug on Apple on your own; this does not require special skills. The problem appears when trying to update iOS version or restore data after repair. Before taking the iPhone to the service and sinning on the manufacturer, you should make independent attempts to correct the situation. Depending on the method by which the firmware was updated, the solution will also be carried out in a similar way.

connect to a different USB port

In this method, you only need to connect your computer to an alternate USB port. For example, for a stationary computer, it is recommended to use the USB port on the back of the system unit, and you should not connect to USB 3.0.

    Hardware problem

First of all, you should carefully study the USB cable that connects the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to your personal computer. The option using fakes should be immediately excluded. it is better at least for a while, but ask your friends for a replacement.

The second possible cause is a malfunctioning USB connector. Often the error appears when using USB 3.0 for which the appropriate drivers are not loaded. It is most convenient to check your guess using the Driver Booster tool, which automatically analyzes the available hardware and restores the operability of everything in a row. the motherboard, connectors, BIOS and USB. Before updating, you must definitely agree to create a checkpoint, just in case. If, instead of fixing errors, new problems arise, it will be easy to roll back.

An alternative option is to ask your friends for both a USB cable and a computer. Perhaps the problem lies in the hardware and you need to update Windows.

Recovery Mode and DFU on iPhone 8, X, XS, XR, 11, 12

As the saying goes, “Nothing in this world lasts forever, and you and I will also someday be in a box underground” oh, I wanted to say “ in heaven”. This truth must simply be accepted, no matter how terrible it may seem. You see how cheerful I am!

So Apple again decided to bring you and me down from the clouds to the ground and forced all users of the “shiny-sparkling” iPhone 8, X, XS and XR to retrain to press the physical buttons of the smartphone in a new way.

In this article I will show you the combinations of buttons that will lead to a hard restart, activate recovery mode or DFU mode on iPhone 8, X, XS or XR, 11 and 12. After all, now everything is different again.!

No matter how you twist the iPhone XS / 11 or even XR in your hands, you will never guess what you need to press to force restart it. Most likely this led you to our site.

Well, no problem. Now I’ll show you how to force restart, activate recovery mode or DFU mode on iPhone models 8, X, XS, XR, etc.

Also, before we dive into the details, let’s take another look at the iPhone XS button names. Now the on / off button is called Side Button, or in our “Side Button” (Side Button is somehow not as annoying as our version, so I will use this name later). Volume Up / Down buttons remain unchanged.

The round HOME button you’re so used to hasn’t moved to the iPhone X for obvious reasons, but it’s still there on the iPhone 8/8 Plus. Despite this, the button combinations for both iPhone models are identical.

Recovery mode on iPhone X and older

Now let’s consider the option when you need to activate recovery mode on the iPhone of the specified lineup. To do this, we do this:

STEP 1. You need to have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. You can download it here.

STEP 2. If iTunes is running, close it. Connect the iPhone with a cable to the computer, and only then launch iTunes.

STEP 3. Now by analogy with the previous section. Press and release the Volume Up button, then press and release the Volume Down button.

STEP 4. Hold the Side Button and hold it until the image of the cable and the iTunes icon appears on the iPhone screen. Do not be alarmed if an apple first appears on the screen.

Continue to hold the Side Button until you get confirmation that the recovery mode was successfully activated.

STEP 5. An appropriate message should appear in the iTunes window, which will offer to either Restore (with the loss of all data) or Update (without losing data) iPhone firmware.

With recovery mode on the iPhone X, that’s it. Moving on to the hardest part. DFU mode.

DFU mode on iPhone XS, XR, iPhone 12

Well, we got to the DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode. If the forced reboot did not help, and the recovery mode does not activate, the DFU mode is the last frontier that you can overcome on your own.

In the process of restoring the device in DFU mode, a clean slate system will be installed on your phone. All information stored on the phone will be lost.

DFU mode can help in cases where the iPhone gets stuck in the boot phase, or periodically displays a blue / red screen of “death”.

I highly recommend that you review all the steps below in full so that you can clearly understand in what sequence and for how long you need to press this or that button. So, to enter DFU mode on iPhone 8, X, XS, XR, you need to do the following:

STEP 1. Connect iPhone to computer and launch iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.

STEP 2. Alternately press and release Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold down the Side button and hold it until the screen goes out.

STEP 3. Simultaneously press and hold for 5 seconds the Side button and the Volume Down button.

STEP 4. Then release the Side Button while holding the Volume Down button for another 15 seconds.

STEP 5. A message should appear in the iTunes window stating that iPhone has been detected in recovery mode The iPhone screen should remain off.

STEP 6. If after your manipulations nothing happened, or something flashed on the iPhone screen, then you got lost when counting the seconds. Go back to STEP 1 and try again.

Well, that’s all. In fact, the DFU mode on the iPhone XS is activated in the same way as on the younger iPhone models, but the reboot and recovery mode are already in a new way.

I think that all of us will soon get used to new combinations unless, of course, Apple again “throws out” a couple of unnecessary buttons or replaces them with something like “twist, lick, dip”.

How to Reset iphone 7 plus & restore from itunes | New IOS | DFU Mode

I wish you all a good day and keep your iPhone running smoothly! Well, it’s time for me to turn the nuts

    How to Restart iPhone X / XS / XR / 11/12

Let’s say your iPhone freezes or starts to glitch, or won’t turn on at all. To return it to a working state, you must perform a forced reboot. Forget (if you knew) any other button combinations and follow the step-by-step instructions below.

The new iPhone restart button combination will take a little more manual dexterity from you. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again.

STEP 1. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Then press and quickly release the Volume Down button.

STEP 2. Now hold down the Side Button until an apple appears on the iPhone screen.

To make it easier to remember, remember the children’s saying “Plus, minus. closure”. By analogy, it is in this sequence that the buttons must be pressed.

Everything seems to be with a hard reset. Did not work out? Try to be more nimble and try again.

    Recovery Mode on iPhone 12

Step 1. Update to the latest version of iTunes and connect your smartphone to your computer.

Step 2. Press Volume Up, Volume Down in sequence, and then press and hold the Side Button until the iPhone restarts and the iTunes Connect screen appears.

Step 4. You can now either upgrade to the latest iOS version (your data will remain) or restore (your data will be erased).

If you are using a Mac, a similar window will appear (on macOS Catalina and Big Sur).
