SADP program for changing the settings of Hikvision IP cameras, manual, download

So you have a Hikvision IP camera. You have done all the installation work and now you need to start your video surveillance system.

We start by entering the IP address specified in the documentation for the IP camera. By default, the following access data is applied to all Hikvision IP cameras:

  • IP address. 192.0.0.64
  • login. admin
  • password. 12345

However, not everything is so simple, by entering the address used by Hikvision by default, you will receive a nice message “The web page is not available”.

resetting, hikvision, camera, factory, settings

The point is that your switch works with a different address range. But they do not need to be changed in any way. We make changes in a completely different place, namely on the computer. We go to the Windows Network and Sharing Center and select the item. Local Area Connection.

On the tab that opens, look at the default gateway.

From this window, we see that the computer is working on the network. 192.168.0 IP address, Hikvision cameras, as we remember. 192.0.0.64. Now you need to change the default IP address to 192.168.0.64.

This requires a program from Hikvision called SADP. You can download it from the official Hikvision website at the link.

After starting, the program will find the Hikvision IP cameras available in the network. The figure shows how this happens.

And now, in the right column, you should specify the required IP address and Gateway, and also, before pressing the Save button, enter the password. 12345. This password can later be changed in the web interface of the IP camera.

Now, after entering the new IP address, the image from the IP camera will appear.

Thus, IP cameras are connected to the computer.

It is even easier to connect an IP camera to a DVR. Below is a video on how to do this.

Below we provide more detailed instructions for working with the SADP program.

  • Select a device in SADP (you can also select multiple devices to activate simultaneously and give them the same password),
  • Enter a new password for the device and confirm with the “OK” button.

View of the SADP program window in which the area for entering a new password and activating the device is highlighted in red.

The program automatically checks and displays the strength of the entered password. A strong password must contain from 8 to 16 characters, among which there must be at least three of the following characters: numbers, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, special characters.

  • Select from the list the device whose parameters in the network will be changed (the list of network parameters available for changing is displayed in the right part of the program). If DHCP function is enabled, only some parameters can be changed, such as: SDK Port (default 8000) and HTTP Port (default 80). The rest of the network parameters (for example, IP address, mask, gateway) are assigned automatically via a DHCP server. If IPv6 addressing is used, it must be supported by the device. The same as in the case of the DHCP function, which must be supported by both the device and the router on the network to which they are connected.
  • If DHCP does not work, it is possible to manually change all available network parameters (for example, IP address, mask, gateway, etc.),
  • For all settings to be saved, you must enter the password to access the camera and confirm it with the Save button.
  • Click on one device and drag it with the mouse to highlight sequential parameters that will be available for editing in the right part of the settings window, you must enter the starting IP address (for example, if three devices are selected and the starting address is 192.168.1.64, the devices will be sequentially displayed addresses 192.168.1.65, 192.168.1.66)
  • You can also select the “Enable DHCP in Batch” function to automatically assign network parameters such as IP address, mask, gateway to selected devices.,
  • To save all the settings, you must enter the access password for the devices and confirm it with the “Save” button.

Default password recovery. In case of problems with access to the camera or DVR caused by an incorrect password, it is possible to reset it to the factory settings. Hikvision provides two ways to recover the default password depending on the firmware version (with firmware version higher than V3.3.0 in DVRs. And higher than V5.3.0 in cameras, the second method is provided). First way: It is necessary to select in the main window of the SADP program the device whose password we want to restore to the factory settings. If the password recovery window looks like the following figure, follow these steps:

  • select device,
  • copy the date and time from the SADP program from the “Start Time” tab and from the “Device Serial NO: device serial number” tab
  • Send information to technical support deltavideo.info@gmail.com
  • Within 1-2 business days, an unlock code will be sent to you,
  • Select the device we want to unlock,
  • The received security code must be inserted into the “Security Code” window and confirmed with the OK button,
  • The device access password will be reset to factory settings (login: admin, password: 12345)
  • Select device,
  • In the tab next to the Export button, you should specify the location where the file will be saved, allowing you to recover the password (you should select the folder in which the exported file will be located with the name DeviceKey.xml)
  • Click the “Export” button
  • Then the file must be sent to technical support deltavideo.info@gmail.com. A password unlock file will be sent within 1-2 business days,
  • Select the device we want to unlock
  • To unlock the device, you need to specify the password unlock file next to the Import button, and then click the Import button,
  • The password for the device will be reset to factory settings.

In the SADP window. The area of export and import of files is highlighted in red, allowing you to reset the password to factory settings. The password for the administrator account will be restored to factory settings. In the case of the first method described above, the default is 12345, in the case of the second method, you need to set a new password when activating the camera or DVR (no default password). When you log in for the first time, you must set or change a password to prevent unauthorized access by third parties. We strongly recommend that you use a strong password for increased security. A strong password must contain from 8 to 16 characters, among which there must be at least three types of the following characters: numbers, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, special characters.

Resetting and Assigning a New Administrator Password.

It is possible to create a new administrator password if it is lost. To do this, in the “Reset password” tab:

How to reset IP camera to factory settings

The need to reset the IP camera settings occurs in two cases:

  • You need to reset your password because you forgot or lost it
  • after reconfiguring the camera, it works in an abnormal mode or simply does not turn on and at the same time you do not have the opportunity to enter the camera control interface to correct the situation

The following are two options for resetting the IP camera settings.

  • Factory reset with dedicated button
  • Resetting settings on cameras that do not have a dedicated button

Using the reset button

There are several ways to reset the settings, and they may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. The easiest way is to press the secret reset button. In most cases, the location of such a button is indicated in the instruction manual of your IP camera.

The picture below is a snapshot of the yoosee camera instruction, where the location of the reset button hole is indicated. In this case, the camera settings are reset using a special tool that comes with the camera.

For more details on resetting yoosee cameras, see the instructions for setting up PTZ Wi-Fi cameras.

The reset button can be located in a small hole in the camera body or inside the camera without access from outside. In this case, to access the reset button, you need to open the camera body. Also, in some cases, the reset button is located in the bundle of wires leaving the camera. This option is usually found in street cameras.

If your camera has such a button, then in order to reset its settings, you need to connect the camera power and wait until it is fully turned on. Next, you press and hold the reset button for a few seconds, after which the camera reboots with the factory settings.

No reset button

If your camera does not have such a button, then the settings are reset using special software.

Such a need periodically arises for IP cameras of the HiQ, Vesta, SVplus brands and many others that work with the XMEYE cloud service.

To reset the IP camera settings, connect it to the local network of your computer or directly to the network interface of the computer and turn on the power.

Next, you need to install the software.

For xmeye platform IP cameras download. resetuser.zip.

For other models, ask your camera manufacturer, dealer or supplier for the correct software.

Unzip the downloaded file and run ResetUser.exe. In the window that appears, enter the IP address of your camera and click execute. The factory reset procedure will take some time.

Then the camera settings will be reset. You can enter the camera control interface using a standard login and password (for xmeye cameras, the login is admin, the password is empty)

Reset using the Reset button

There are many ways to reset an IP camera. However, they may differ depending on the manufacturer of the device. The simplest option would be to click on a small button, sometimes called “secret”. It is just intended to return to the standard settings of the CCTV camera. If the instruction manual of the camcorder is saved, it will be possible to find the reset with it, because its location is usually indicated in the document.

The most common location for a factory reset button hole is on the back of the device. In this case, the video camera is always equipped with a special device that allows you to press the specified button.

hikvision Ip Camera password reset (ADMIN) account using SADP tool

Reset can be located not only on the camcorder body, in a special small hole. Sometimes there are such modifications of devices on the IP-protocol, in which there is no direct access to the reset button from the outside. Therefore, you will need to open the case of the device.

In some models of IP cameras, the button may be located among the bundle of wires that go out of this device. This option is most common in those modifications that are intended for outdoor video surveillance.

It will not be difficult to reset an IP camera that has a similar reset. To do this, it will be enough to turn on the power, and then wait until the device turns on completely. After that, you will need to press the button and hold it for several seconds. Then the IP camera will be able to reboot by applying the factory settings.
