What is the NFC function in Xiaomi phone: how the chip works

The NFC function in Xiaomi phones is no different from that of other smartphones. Inside, a chip is embedded in the main board with the antenna output on the back side. It is possible to see the module only by removing the back cover. It is usually located near the lens of the camera.

The chip makes it possible to make contactless payments using a mobile app. Since all phone models come with the Android operating system, users only need to install Google Pay and add a means of payment. After that the payment is possible everywhere where there is a terminal with NFC-support.

The operation of the device is based on magnetic fields. The chips in the phone and the terminal send signals at a distance of up to 10cm. When two fields come within range of each other, they can transmit data, including bank details, almost instantly.

In 2015, a very useful tool called Android (Google) Pay was introduced. This feature allows you to link any bank cards to the phone. It allows you to pay with your smartphone in stores that have POS terminals that support contactless payment.

Not all phones can be used instead of a card. Obligatory condition the smartphone must be equipped with the Near field communication (NFC) module. This very technology carries out wireless data transfer within the range of 10 cm. NFC sensor is added to mid-range and flagship phones. Budget devices in most cases do not have the module.

Which Xiaomi phones support NFC?

NFC is a modern technology of contactless communication which is intended for the data transmission between two devices which are placed between each other at a distance of up to 10 centimeters. Gradually, this module is gaining popularity, but at the moment is not installed in all mobile devices. What smartphones Xiaomi with NFC module exist at the moment?

Like most other manufacturers, Xiaomi integrates the NFC module only in the devices of premium class.

And also Xiaomi Mi 2A. As you can see, the list lacks the 4th generation smartphone series Mi, namely Xiaomi Mi 4. This is due to the fact that in 2014, at the time of the release of the device, the company Xiaomi has not strongly believed in the success of technology NFC and simply removed this module from the list of necessary components of his mobile device.

However, later, the manufacturer has come to its senses and, having decided not to lag behind competitors, began to equip its top devices with this module again.

Unfortunately, the NFC module in the phone Xiaomi Redmi 5 (as in any other mobile device of a line of Xiaomi Redmi) is absent, which means that to take advantage of all the charms of the technology on a budget smartphones you will not be able. The same can be said for Xiaomi Mi A2, where there is no NFC despite the more premium positioning of the Android One line.

It is possible that in 2019, Xiaomi will start installing NFC in its inexpensive phones and they will be able to compete with smartphones of other brands costing up to 200 dollars.

Buying a smartphone with NFC module the most important thing is that you will be able to pay in stores without the need to use your plastic card. All you need to do is to take out your phone, unlock it and bring it to the terminal which supports this technology. Such terminals have been actively introduced by most stores in 2018, and in 2019 they have already been installed in almost all, even in remote, villages.

How to enable NFC on Xiaomi?

To enable the NFC module, it is necessary to enter the system settings and choose the Additional Features item from the Wireless Networks sub-item, where in the opened window activate the NFC switch.

After that you should activate the item Android Beam, if it is disabled (NFC function in Xiaomi is enabled this way and is designed for wireless data transmission with a short range).

By turning on the NFC module, the smartphone is able to exchange data with other mobile devices, tablets, as well as read the gradually gaining popularity of NFC tags.

Redmi 7A review: the budget smartphone that was the first to get MIUI 11

Unexpectedly for many, inexpensive smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 7A along with the popular Xiaomi Mi 9T first received the global MIUI 11. The new system has brought many improvements to the inexpensive smartphone and even added some useful features. The smartphone came out in early summer and it can not be called a novelty, but there have been no reviews on it yet, so I decided to write about this inexpensive and in my opinion interesting model.

In my understanding, the smartphone is designed for undemanding, but pragmatic users who are used to getting the most features for a minimum of money. Also the device is ideal for a child, in fact, this was the main reason for buying it. to replace the obsolete and physically dead phone for 10-year-old son. Buying an expensive smartphone for a elementary school student is not the best idea, t.The lifetime of children’s devices usually does not exceed 1. 2 years, and some even manage to “kill” their smartphone in a shorter period. In this case, of course, are important parameters such as: an adequate camera, long battery life and not too big screen diagonal.

  • Screen: IPS 5.45 “with HD resolution 1440 x 720
  • Processor: 8 core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 with up to 2 Ghz
  • Graphics: Adreno 505, 650 Mhz
  • RAM: 2 Gb
  • Built-in memory: 16 Gb or 32 Gb the possibility of micro SD card up to 256 Gb in a separate slot
  • Camera: Main. 12 MP using AI, f/2.2, pixel size 1.25 microns; front. 5 MP using AI
  • Wireless: WI-FI 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, navigation with satellites GPS, Glonass, Beidou
  • Communications: GSM B2/3/5/8, WCDMA B1/5/8, LTE-FDD B1/3/5/8, LTE-TDD B34/38/39/40/41(100MHz), TD-SCDMA B34/39, CDMA 1XEVDO BC0
  • Battery: 4000 mAh (typical capacity), 3900 mAh (minimum capacity)
  • Operating system: MIUI Global 11 based on Android 9
  • Dimensions: 146.3 mm x 70.41 mm x 9.55 mm
  • Weight: 165 g

Packing and equipment

Traditionally strong package with the name of the model on the front. Although the brand Redmi was taken out into a separate division, but we know that this is the good old Xiaomi. This is also eloquently stated by the Mi logo on the box.

The unexpected thing was the conformity mark on the package, t.e seller sends smartphones certified for Ukraine. In theory, when ordering in Russia will be the appropriate PCT certificate. Not that it’s a big deal for me, but still.

The package is minimal: smartphone, documentation, cable and charger. There is not even a simple cover.

100% узнать есть ли NFC в телефоне? Не работает НФС как проверить бесконтактную оплату и ЧИП NFC?

About the charging speed and battery capacity

The charger with the claimed characteristics of 5V/2A.

There’s even a 10% power reserve, t.The charger does not work at the limit. In operation does not overheat, does not make extraneous noises.

Most of the time the smartphone is charged with a current of 1.82A.

The whole process takes 2 hours and 37 minutes. Given the capacity of the battery is pretty fast. Poured 20.5 Wh, the capacity corresponds to the declared.

Appearance and ergonomics

The smartphone has a classic design with a noticeable frame. The screen does not have any notches, the front camera and the speakerphone are located above the screen.

Under the screen the manufacturer decided to place the logo Redmi. A controversial decision, because now everyone is trying to get rid of such “tags”.

The conversation speaker is covered with a metal mesh. In order to have a conversation that does not resemble a handsfree, enough 60%. 70% of the maximum volume. Reserve comes in handy in noisy places.

The back of the smartphone is made of matte plastic. It is not slippery and pleasant to the touch, there is no trace of use on the body. Available in different colors: black, blue and two-color blue-green and black-red. I chose blue only for economic reasons, the price of this color was the cheapest. I think I made the right decision. It looks interesting in person.

A single camera with LED lighting is located on the left corner.

They have clearly gone too far with the inscriptions in the design

The thickness of the body is almost 1 cm, but the smartphone does not feel “fat”. An extra couple of mm gives the body grip and makes it more comfortable to hold.

The audio jack has been placed on the top edge. Also here you can see the additional microphone, which is used for noise reduction and audio recording in video clips.

The audio speaker is loud, the sound quality and even a little bit volumetric. Т.As a budget smartphone, it got an outdated micro USB connector, but I’m not going to grieve about it.

Significant advantage over competitors is the availability of a full-fledged tray 21, t.You can install two nano SIM cards and a micro SD card at the same time. The memory card can be used for music, photos and video, so if you do not plan to install a lot of games and applications, you can take the younger version with internal memory capacity of 16 Gb. Also note the silicone seal around the perimeter of the tray, the smartphone has basic splash protection and is additionally treated with a water repellent coating.

In general, the feeling of using a smartphone is only positive: it does not feel cheap, looks good and lies well in your hand.

The diagonal screen size 5,45″ allows children to use the smartphone, this is how it looks in the palm of his 10 year old son.

Т.The package is poor, with the smartphone I ordered a simple silicone case. Figure you can choose from more than 40 options, and the price is only a buck and a half (link).

Case stands over the screen and protects it if you fall.

It also protrudes over the camera lens, protecting it from scratches in everyday use.

For a diagonal of 5.45″ HD resolution is enough and if you do not look at the pixels from a distance of 1 cm, the picture has sufficient detail. But there are questions to the maximum brightness. For indoor use with bright lights I put the brightness at about 80%, on lower settings it becomes uncomfortable to use. Anything below 50% is for use in twilight or darkness.

On the street of course have to turn the brightness to maximum. In the shade this brightness is enough.

But under the open sky or God forbid under a bright sun. it’s hard to make out anything. I want to add more, but I can’t.

Color rendering is shifted to warm tones, but can be adjusted in the settings. Viewing angles are not bad, but at sharp angles, especially diagonally, the screen gets a glow effect and black becomes more like gray.

Black evenness is not bad. Light leaks a little in the upper right and lower left corner. The evenness of the white field is good.

Software, Communications, and Synthetic Tests

I have had the smartphone for a couple of weeks and in that time I even managed to get a security update on MIUI 10. What was my surprise when a few days ago I saw the update notification on MIUI 11. Redmi 7A was one of the first to receive an update to the new version of the popular OC.

The system looks much nicer, all the icons are much larger and have a new design with animation.

New ringtones and notifications, more logical and smart menu and new features, like a weather alarm clock that wakes you up with a melody depending on the weather outside.

I got a long-awaited dark design theme and many other features, which I will not tell you about now.

But apart from the visuals there are other more important changes in the smartphone. It became faster, and the power consumption was even reduced. The camera has a portrait mode with background blur with the help of artificial intelligence. In games the smartphone feels a little faster, which was noticeable in PUBG, and in synthetic tests the result has improved. In Antutu the smartphone scored more than 81 000 points.

In the PC Mark 4573 points, and in the AI test. 41634.

But synthetics is synthetics, and it is much more important how the smartphone works in real conditions. No, I’m not going to say that it works like a flagship, and everything opens, launches, and runs super-duper fast. Of course, when scrolling through heavy web pages there are slight slowdowns, and downloading/installing or running applications is slower than for expensive smartphones. But it can be used, and using it does not cause the desire to smash against the wall or the head of the creator. Quite a fast smartphone and the child will definitely be satisfied. For me it’s more important that it has good reception, a good quality speaker and that I can use the mobile internet on the street. With this there is no problem. Communications is everywhere, the microphone is good, 4G works perfectly, giving 20. 25 Mbps to download and upload. There is WI-FI at home and 45. 55 Mbps is more than enough for a smartphone. Not to download movies on it? By the way WI-FI only works on 2.4 Ghz, in b\g\n standards, so the speed is quite adequate.

In the cloudy weather I found 32 satellites, 12 of which were active. In addition to the stated in the description of the GPS, Glonass, Beidou smartphone works with GALILEO satellites. In addition to all this there is a magnetic COMPASS.

The track recorded clearly matches the actual movement, which shows good accuracy. Cold start takes half a minute, subsequent starts only a few seconds.

The most controversial point of the model is memory. Many consider 2Gb\16Gb to be very little in 2019. They are partly right, but only partly. It depends on your usage scenario. If you need a smartphone for making calls, reading something on the Internet (do not open too many pages), correspondence in messenger, as well as listening to music and taking photos, then the memory is enough. And if you are not a gamer in the fifth tribe, you can also entertain yourself with toys. But if you’re used to keeping big games in the background, open 100500 tabs and want to switch between tasks instantly, then yes. 2Gb will not be enough. Applications will be unloaded from memory and need to be run again. The RAM copy speed is 3700 MB/s.

The built-in eMMC flash drive is pretty fast: 70 MB/s write and 204 MB/s read. If you take the version with 32 Gb of internal memory, the speed is even a little faster.

Regarding performance degradation during long loads. A 15 minute trotlining test showed that at 100% CPU load the performance drops to 91% of the maximum possible. The smartphone at the same time gets warm, about 38 degrees. This is a good indicator, especially in normal life you will not be able to so load the processor. Even in PUBG it’s maxed out at 20% to 30%, t.To the main task is performed by the GPU.

And since I started talking about games, I want to please those who do not mind to play a roll in PUBG or Hearthstone before going to bed. Play on this smartphone is possible and even necessary. Adreno 505 easily copes with HD screen resolution, so you can even count on modern 3D demanding games. In the same PUBG I was offered low graphics settings and the average FPS was at 26 fps play is quite possible.

I also checked some other modern toys and got these data:

The camera

Over the past few years, studying smartphones costing about 100, I became convinced of the idea that the camera there is a purely technical thing. At least in third-tier brands like Homtom, Umidigi or Oukitel I have never met a decent camera. But as I got to know the budget models of Xiaomi my stereotypes were shattered. It turns out that in a smartphone for 120, you can install a good camera, such as in Redmi 7, which I wrote in June. And even in the ultra budget Redmi 7A, which costs only 80, the camera was very nice. From the engineering menu I found out that as a sensor front camera used Sony IMX 486.

Here are some examples of photos taken under different lighting conditions (the originals can be downloaded here). The only thing we don’t have is a photo in good sunny weather. We’ve had cloudy skies, fog, and other fall delights for the second week in a row. But even in these conditions, the camera is doing quite well. I took most of the shots with the automatic mode, and sometimes with AI. I didn’t care about the manual settings, even though I have the PRO mode here too. The pictures below were taken during a walk in the park at the end of the day. Clouds overcast the sky, light fog. The camera captured the atmosphere and colors accurately and showed good detail.

The weather did clear up one day, but I was able to take pictures only at sunset, at 5 pm. It turned out pretty good. The pictures are clear, even on the edges. Autofocus is very fast. The detailing is good.

As I said before, when I got this smartphone, it had MIUI 10 installed and the camera had no portrait mode. With the update to MIUI 11 there is a portrait mode, the camera can blur the background nicely. Т.Since there is no additional depth sensor, all processing takes place at the software level and in my opinion it turns out pretty good.

indoors in good light, the camera does not fail.

At night it is better to use the AI, which makes pictures contrast and clarity.

As for the front camera, everything is noticeably simpler. The detail is lower and there is noise, but the sensor is only 5 megapixels.

Video capabilities are limited to Full HD 1080p and 30 fps. The short video below, will show the camera capabilities in the video in different light conditions.

With normal use, without fanaticism in the games smartphone enough for 2 full days. Even with the condition of “sticking” in the smartphone throughout the day, it is guaranteed to last all day, still remain. A good battery was one of the reasons for choosing this particular model. I already mentioned that the smartphone will be used by a child and as you know kids like to play. And it really saps the battery. And it is important for parents to know the location of their child and control what is installed on the smart phone. For this I use Famili Link and Where are my children?? In both cases the mobile internet and GPS should be on all the time. And this is an additional load on the battery. Time will tell how long it will last in this mode, I can only show my usage scenario: mobile Internet, a lot of browsing, messengers, using the camera, tests. The screen brightness is almost always above 70%, outdoors at maximum. Had enough for 2 days, with a total screen time of more than 6 hours.

To understand the capabilities of the smartphone, I also did some user tests. Playing video from internal storage at maximum brightness. 9 hours 7 minutes, playing full HD video via YouTube at maximum brightness. 8 hours 47 minutes. Battery test Work 2.0 with a screen brightness level corresponding to 200 cd/m2. 10 hours 24 minutes.

If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive smartphone. Redmi 7A is definitely worth considering. By and large I got exactly what I expected: a device for communication and the Internet. However, I was also surprised by this camera. A pleasant surprise was the camera, which is not formal, but very real. You can and should take pictures with this camera. The second pleasant surprise was MIUI 11, which the smartphone received among the first. MIUI I really liked before, but now it is one step closer to perfection. But the unpleasant surprise was a small maximum brightness of the screen. Although perhaps I’m just spoiled by the bright AMOLED and IPS matrices of more expensive smartphones that I use myself. The child liked the smartphone, says it is very cool. And this is actually more important than everything else.

To buy Redmi 7A at the lowest price of 80 you can here or here (I took the second link).

What other alternatives are available for this price now? Yes, not particularly any. Do not even look at the Chinese basement, it’s money down the drain. Recently released Redmi 8A, but it is still very expensive. For the global price will ask 120, for the Chinese version of 112. This despite the fact that the processor and camera remained the same, just increased the battery to 5000 mAh. I think it is not worth it. If you have 120, it is better to take the older Redmi 7, which is better in everything (processor, camera, memory). My review of Redmi 7 can be read here.

Review of Xiaomi Redmi 7A: features, reviews and photos

Smartphones are becoming more affordable every year, so more and more people can afford to buy a full-fledged mobile assistant. The Chinese company Xiaomi is one of the main developers contributing to the advancement of technology in the masses. The hero of today’s review is quite capable of making life much easier for buyers at a minimal cost of buying it.

The appearance of new items is pleasant to the eye, although inferior to the exterior of models in the medium and higher price categories. Positive emotions will cause almost frameless IPS panel, the modest thickness of the body made of high-quality plastic, its ergonomic shape. The lack of a dual camera, fingerprint sensor is unlikely to be added to the list of advantages. The 5.45-inch screen is made by OGS technology, has a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. The picture does not reach the record for brightness and contrast, but it is natural and detailed enough for the price segment.

Snapdragon 439 processor along with 2/3/4gb RAM and Adreno 505 graphics chip still handles gaming applications well, notable for increased resource consumption. The graphics settings will be low in many cases, but the gameplay is smooth and comfortable. 16/32/64gb ROM expandable with MicroSD cards, the owner of the unit is unlikely to experience memory shortages.

The main 13-megapixel camera is great for daytime shooting and mediocre. For the nighttime. For the manufacturer’s asking price, however, it is foolish to expect better. But the 5-megapixel front-facing camera will create great selfies, and the face detection function will organize. Battery capacity of 4000mAh with high quality optimization of the MIUI shell (Android 9.0) provides more than 10 hours of active screen time. LTE, OTG, infrared port and fast charging support make an inexpensive but balanced and functional device really the right choice.

Smartphone review Xiaomi Redmi 7A. new super budget model

I, of course, closely follow the market of super-budget smartphones, because many readers are interested in what is happening in the category of phones for children need inexpensive, but decent phones, for retirees, students and so on: there are often cases where a smartphone is in great need, and if possible not quite junk, but money for it. to the brim.

Among the budget ones, one of the most popular smartphones was Xiaomi Redmi 6A. Popular, of course, among those who understand and not those who buy some unknown to science Nuivzopu Golaksi S55 just because it costs two kopecks. Xiaomi is still famous for making very noteworthy smartphones and sells them at a very tempting price. And their smartphones, as a rule, are good competition to the noticeably more expensive devices of other big-name manufacturers.

A couple of months ago, the company introduced a new model of this super-budget. Xiaomi Redmi 7A. Its price compared to the Redmi 6A is almost the same, but in terms of features it looks much more interesting: above all the platform and battery capacity. I immediately ordered it as soon as it went on sale, tested it and now am ready to share my impressions.

Technical Specifications

Operating system: Android 9.0, MIUI Global 10 shell.2/7 Display: 5.45″, 1440×720, 295 PPI, 18:9, IPS, protective glass Processor: Qualcomm SDM439 Snapdragon 439 (12 nm), 8-core GPU: Adreno 505 RAM: 2/3 GB Flash memory: 16/32 GB Memory card: microSD up to 256GB (separate slot) Fingerprint scanner: none Face recognition: none IR transmitter: none NFC: none Network: GSM, WCDMA, LTE: B1/2/3/4/4/5/7/7/8/20/38/40 Wireless: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Camera: 12 MP, f/2.2, Full HD video 30 fps Front camera: 5 MP Ports: microUSB, audio output Navigation: GPS / GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou SIM-card: nanoSIM1 and nanoSIM2 (dual standby) Battery: 4000 mA·h, fixed Dimensions: 146.3 x 70.41 x 9.55 mm Weight: 165 g Weatherproof: Splash-proof Advanced: proximity sensor, light sensor, accelerometer, electronic COMPASS, FM-radio (without connecting a headset) Color options: black, blue, blue, red Price: 5490 on Aliexpress, 6490 on Yandex.Marketplace

What we have here in comparison with the Redmi 6A? First of all, more powerful platform. Used to be Mediatek Helio A22, now Qualcomm Snapdragon 439. Battery capacity increased from 3000 mAh to 4000 mAh. There is a splash-proof and FM-radio with a built-in antenna (now you can not connect a headset). The old charms remained: a separate slot for the memory card (which is very relevant with so much built-in memory), face recognition. Dimensions and display. About the same as before.

Quality box made of thick cardboard with the name of the model.

Inside: smartphone, 5V/2A power adapter, USB-microUSB cable, instructions, key to insert the SIM card and memory card.

The design is pretty much the usual. budgetnik and budgetnik. But it looks very good, in my opinion. A model name has been added to the bottom panel, which is sure to piss off the Frontside Inscription Opponents Sect.

The black plastic on the front panel looks much better than the white of the 6A (it’s on the right).

Back cover. plastic. Which, by the way, and good. At least it does not shatter, like the flagships. plastic, of course, scratches, but scratches should not be highly visible: here, too, painted the entire lid, as far as I understood, not just the surface.

Bottom edge. microUSB port, speaker, microphone.

The right side. The volume rocker and the power button are in their usual places.

Top edge. Audio output and a second microphone for noise reduction.

And on the left end. Insert for SIM card and memory card. In 6A the second insert for a SIM card was separate.

IPS-display is quite decent quality. Resolution, like the 6A, 1440×720, but this is almost not conspicuous. pixelation is not noticeable.

Good viewing angles, with strong deviations white becomes light gray. There is oleophobic coating and quite effective anti-glare filter: unlike the 6A, in direct sunlight, the image remains quite distinguishable, the previous model with it was noticeably worse.

Stock in brightness. Quite modest, but, as I said, in direct sunlight everything is visible, and what else is needed?

Present standard for Xiaomi flexible screen settings: color and contrast, font size, reading mode, dark mode.

Standard for MIUI two options for control: navigation buttons and full-screen gestures, which are quite advanced (in addition to the usual “Return”, “Home” and “List of running tasks” can be added to the return to the previous application and the call menu program.

Configurable area fast switches.

Quality of connection. quite decent, the noise modulation seems to work a little better than the 6A.

Fun stuff. FM radio that works even without headphones connected. The antenna is not bad, the quality is quite decent. That is, this smartphone can act as a desktop radio, which is interesting.

Stations finds automatically without any problems, but their names can not get, you must manually edit.

You can set the radio to automatically turn off, record transmission.

Built-in speaker is loud enough, but the sound is not very good quality, a little dirty. No wheezing at full volume.

Earphone plugs Sennheiser CX 2.00G. Even good: good detail, good mids and treble, little noticeable bass, but accurate.

Full-size 38-ohm Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones. Good: ample volume and detail, very decent mids and highs, good bass and not at all boomy as it was on the 6A.

So compared to the 6A, the sound is noticeably better.

Also tested the sound on wireless headphones with aptX. As with the 6A, connected only via SBC (aptX is not supported by the platform, but AAC and LDAC are supported). Sounds quite good, but the difference with aptX is noticeable, also the volume level in my opinion is insufficient (in noisy surroundings could be a problem). And this with region “India” set, I notice. (This boosts the volume.)

Sound effects, profiles and equalizer are here.

Asphalt 9 goes on medium quality settings, but moves quite smoothly.

Tanks kept 60 fps on medium settings almost all the time (without HD-textures).

The cold start lasted just a few seconds, no problem with the positioning.

As I have already mentioned in my reviews, Xiaomi smartphones are good because in the settings even of very low-end models you can find all the options and features of flagships. So here too. there is a second space, application cloning, additional gestures, SOS mode. (You can read more about Xiaomi settings in my review of the Xiaomi Mi 9.)

The usual Xiaomi camera interface, but all sorts of modes are cut down here. There are only video clip, video, photo and Pro-mode.

And now look at some examples of pictures. They are all clickable, the originals open.

Makes the shutter speed too slow in low light. 1/14s. so there may be some shakiness, as in the two shots below.

But if you press, for example, on the center of the screen, the focus will hold quite well.

There’s no stabilizer here, so the video is expectedly shaky.

About the photo. A camera for a budget phone. than decent, it can be used for a variety of tasks, including artistic ones. In good light shows excellent results: even sharpness, good detail, correct white balance, clearly exposed. Under medium light conditions it’s not bad, but when it’s not enough light. Makes the shutter speed too slow which can cause blurring. But there is a Pro mode. this flaw can be made up for.

In the dark, as expected, shoots poorly. Strong digital “noise”, which is smeared by noise modulation. But it is not the “horror horror” at all.

But with video, everything is just a trifle: you have to expose the focus point with your finger, otherwise Focus can get hopelessly wrong, also there is no stabilization here, so something decent can be obtained only by using a steadicam.

However, once again, for a budget camera. surprisingly decent. And it is better than the 6A.

System information and performance

AnTuTu index. THE 6A HAS. 60819. The difference, of course, is not much at all, but nevertheless.

The speed of the smartphone does not shine, it is a fact, but for normal applications, its speed is enough.

Internet. The brightness is set to a comfortable 60%, wireless networks are enabled, and the browser refreshes the page every 30 seconds. 21 hours and 45 minutes! Seriously, I could not believe my eyes! ON THE 6A. 13 hours and 20 minutes.

Video. Disabled wireless communications, player brightness set to a comfortable level 10 (only 15), in MX Player is looping a clip of the show. And here, interestingly enough, is almost the same as the 6A. just over 15 hours. Interesting. Usually video rolls around longer than the internet.

PCMark synthetic test. a very important indicator. Here. Great, almost 16 hours! THE 6A. 9 hours and 12 minutes.

In practice, this smartphone lived normally for two days under normal use.

Charged with the included adapter at 5V/2A. just under two hours. 6A was charging at 5V/1A.

The 6A’s facial recognition surprisingly worked decently, it was usable. Here. the same: recognition is clearly slower than the same Xiaomi Mi 9, but it works perfectly well even in difficult conditions: at an angle, in poor lighting conditions, in complete darkness (several times checked!), also works when I’m wearing dark chameleon glasses in direct sunlight.

The only thing it does not have. Is face tracking when the screen is off, like the Mi 9. That is, if there is a lock screen and face tracking is enabled. The screen does need to be activated. But the face reacts very clearly.

I have not noticed any problems during the test period. At serious load (3D game) showed a slight heating in the area of the processor location.

What do we have compared to the 6A, which, by the way, was even slightly more expensive than what they are now asking for the 7A?

  • somewhat more powerful platform;
  • Better design and appearance;
  • A higher capacity battery (actually with the same dimensions) and noticeably better battery life;
  • faster charging;
  • splash protection;
  • better camera;
  • better sound. Including headphones;
  • Better display (especially the behavior in the sun).

Does it make sense to swap the 6A for the 7A. I don’t know, it’s up to you. But when asked what good budget phone I can recommend, I now clearly answer: Xiaomi Redmi 7A. This is more than a decent device for the money.

“Buy Xiaomi Mi 9 SE”. Xiaomi commented on the lack of an NFC module in the Redmi Note 7 Pro

Many Xiaomi smartphones, even the budget models, are equipped with NFC contactless payment modules. The new Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone, which is an improved version of the very popular Redmi Note 7, recently began selling in India.

At the time of the announcement, the press release did not specify whether the Redmi Note 7 Pro has an NFC module. Many potential buyers have asked this question, but Xiaomi has not only answered it negatively, but immediately recommended those who need NFC to buy other Xiaomi products.

Lu Weibing, vice president of Xiaomi and head of the Redmi brand, left the following message on the Chinese social network Weibo:

Those who want to get a device with the module NFC, should pay attention to the budget flagship Xiaomi Mi 9 SE or buy the new fitness bracelet Xiaomi Mi Band.

It is logical to assume that the NFC module certainly will not be one of the surprises of the Chinese version of Redmi Note 7 Pro, which is due to be presented on March 18 this year.

List of Xiaomi smartphones with NFC support in 2019

The presence of NFC module in a smartphone allows you to link a bank card to it and use it for contactless payment for purchases. Needless to say, it is extremely relevant right now, when many people are trying not to use paper money. It is because of this that certain users when choosing a smartphone in Russia pay attention just to the presence of this component. Now there are a lot of gadgets with such a module, but we want to tell you about which Xiaomi phones with NFC should be considered as a purchase.

What is NFC?

NFC technology is a contactless method of information exchange. Data transfer and receipt between two devices is performed at a minimum distance of up to several centimeters. The given function has appeared in territory of the Russian Federation rather recently and in a short time has got a wide circulation and popularity among consumers. It has a lot of promising directions for use.

With the help of microchips of the same name you can pay for purchases in stores, make payments for public transport, as well as control smart equipment. But it should be borne in mind that such a module is installed only on modern models of mobile devices. It is not foreseen on out-of-date phones, but you can buy separately a SIM-card and an NFC-antenna. There are external tags that can be programmed for a specific function using mobile apps.

The technology is very widespread in the financial sector. Currently microchips are installed in smartphones, bracelets, rings and key chains. All this is developed to simplify the transaction procedure as much as possible.

The NFC module is able to mimic a signal from a credit card added to the Mi Pay or Android Pay utility. An important condition for successful payment is the presence of a similar microchip in the receiving equipment, i.e. the merchant’s terminal. Now you can find compatible devices in almost any store. Consider the benefits of a contactless method of transaction using an NFC transmitter:

  • Makes life much easier for the consumer. The transaction is made with a single touch of the smartphone.
  • Great speed of the payment procedure. The payment process takes just a few seconds.
  • High level of personal data protection. Transmission is within a small radius and for a couple of seconds. So attackers are unlikely to be able to intercept the signal for their own selfish purposes. Every transaction over 1,000 requires confirmation, by typing the bank card security password on the terminal.
  • The NFC module does not require significant expenditure of electric power and does not weigh heavily on the battery of the mobile device.
