Many thanks to dimp for the help. Everything worked out, everything works.

Summing up, I will tell you everything that and how to do, if suddenly someone encounters the same problem as mine.

The camera was installed with a washer and dynamic trajectories (5NA 827 566 D).

Camera installation, wiring, connection. everything here is according to the diagrams and manuals from ELSA. But this is not a topic for this section.

We start ODIS-Service. The diagnosis detects multiple CAN bus connections. And the system itself offers to register a new block in the gate. It is necessary to agree, then the adaptation will also be offered by the machine that this block is encoded.

Fill the parameters into the camera block (6C). This is done using ODIS-Engineering. The file (xml) with the parameter can be found on the specialized forum autoprogs. Also, probably, the parameter can be filled using Vag Can Pro, but I don’t have it, so I won’t say anything about this option.

After that, nothing will work for us anyway, and when diagnosing in ODIS-Service, two or three errors will come out.

The first. the block is not encoded (since the camera was new and without parameters, of course, there are no encodings either; however, the encoding parameters are probably still reset when filling).

The second. the unit is not calibrated (requires camera calibration. see point 9).

The third. there is no signal (this occurs if some coding and adaptations were carried out, but not completely. see paragraph 5, but you should not be alarmed here. most likely, there is no real open circuit in the circuit and at this stage a black screen is normal).

Encodings and adaptations. At first I made the standard ones, which are painted everywhere.

5.1. To turn on the camera when you turn on the reverse gear (i.e. generally let the system know about the presence of the camera):
Block 5F (Infotainment);
Byte 19;
Bit 4 activate.

5.2 To turn on the parking sensors over the picture from the camera:
Block 76 (Parking Assistant) (in VACE may be referred to as block 10);
Byte 2;
Bit 4 activate.

After that, I just got a black screen and the third error from point 4.

No additional encodings and adaptations were accepted by block 6C. The error “Function is not available (SID: 2E NRC: 31)”.

Next, in block 5F, I did as described above.

[VO] _Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2:
[LO] _VPS_0x0B: [VN] _activated;
[LO] _VPS_0x0B_msg_bus: [VN] _CAN_Infotainment (this value has already been set by default).

I did not enter the access code, but if asked, then also as indicated earlier: 12345.

I decided to check the gate just in case. Above there is a link to the drive.

7.1. In block 19 “Data bus diagnostic interface” we request the coding of the data bus master. Make sure there is a check mark next to the rear view camera. Just in case, we press “apply”, the encoding is prescribed.
7.2 In the same block, select “Adaptations” and make sure that the value “encoded” is set next to the rear view camera. Just in case, we select it again. We press to apply. The value is written.

These values have already been established for me. see point 2. But for self-assurance I did the above steps. I don’t know what helped to successfully advance further (point 8). it was either the fact that the car slept, or the fact that I made adaptations in block 5F from point 6.

After all this, I decided to try encoding block 6C:

01 23 06 01 22 00 20 17 00 00 40 (entered everything at once, initially there were, as is clear, zeros everywhere).

And lo and behold! The encoding has been registered. The error “block is not coded” accordingly disappeared.

By the way, the option proposed by Zehn differs in one bit. it is intended for a manual transmission. But thanks anyway!

Calibration remained. It is needed, as I understand it, for dynamic trajectories, markings and other goodies (change of view, parking gauge, etc.).

This requires the calibration plate VAS 6350 / 4-. There is a drawing on the internet. I printed it on a regular A4 laser printer and glued it. Those who have quick access to the plotter will find it much easier and more convenient, and most importantly. faster.

Calibration is automatically added to the diagnostic plan when the camera is not calibrated. It can also be called via the slave functions of the camera block (6C).

This “plate” is placed behind the car symmetrically about its longitudinal axis (not the camera) at a distance of 1.4 to 2.0 m from the rear axle. The height to the camera is measured from the ground and the real distance from the rear wheel axle to our template (that which is from 1.4 to 2.0 m). Also, according to the manual, the height of the template is measured, but since in my case it was a sheet of paper, it is equal to zero.

It is also important to make sure that the car is on a flat surface, the steering wheel is straight (I forgot about it, but it seemed to be standing straight), the doors are closed, and there are no people or cargo in the cabin.

Before calibration, there should be no errors in the camera unit, except for the one that actually indicates the absence of calibration.

Next, we enter, according to the program’s requests, the previously measured values, and then everything happens automatically, and you’re done!

There are no more mistakes. The camera shows terrible, but now it is. : az:

Replacement process

The first step is to turn off the machine and make sure that all electrical consumers are turned off. Instructions for replacing the PDC for the “Passat B6” sedan, released earlier than May 2008:

  • Remove the luggage compartment trim on the right. In the process, you will have to dismantle the opening lining, fixing rings, lighting shade and unscrew a few bolts.
  • Disconnect the plug from the 12V socket. The rosette will appear in the process of removing the casing.
  • The PDC is supported by two pistons. It should be removed by squeezing the caps with pliers. All that remains is to disconnect the three connectors.

  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the desired item.
  • Pull out PDC.

Installation is carried out upside-down.

  • What is in the factory version of the car
  • Which camera to choose
  • Installation and connection
  • Malfunctions and their elimination

On many modern cars, a rear view camera is installed to make it easier to reverse. However, this option is not always included in the package, and you have to install the device
