VIDEO SURVEILLANCE WITH SOUND RECORDING

When organizing security systems, more and more attention is paid to recording sound in sync with the image. 10 years ago, in video surveillance, sound was mainly used for two-way communication (entrance control, video intercoms, etc.).

But given the constantly increasing requirements for the level of security, combined systems are gaining popularity, where audio monitoring acts as an effective method of detecting threats.

In the first two cases, video cameras with built-in microphones are usually used, which allow you to monitor a certain area of the room. For special objects, separate audio monitoring systems are used (synchronization with a video channel is optional, and are used at the stage of parsing a specific situation).

If we consider analog and IP cameras with a built-in microphone, this is the best option, both for budget systems and for professional video surveillance with sound recording. Combined equipment means easier installation and configuration of the system as a whole, as well as the ability to significantly increase the overall level of security.

RECORDING IN ANALOGUE SYSTEMS

Audio recording in video surveillance systems is implemented depending on its type:

  • analog. video recorder or PC with video capture card;
  • digital (IP). network video recorder, PC, cloud servers (audio recording is carried out synchronously with video recording).

In professional analog video surveillance systems, special video recorders are usually used. The choice of a suitable model directly depends on the number of cameras with sound recording. For example, there are models with 8 video channels, but there is only one audio channel. That is, sound recording is possible only from one camera (microphone).

If you intend to use a large number of cameras with sound recording, then you will need a DVR with the same number of audio and video channels.

The main disadvantage of this solution is the high cost of the registrar. To connect microphones, both separate lines and combined cables are used. For example, using the KKSV-3-4×0.50 cable, you can connect an active microphone and supply power to it.

Video capture cards for PC are a solution in terms of functionality that is practically not inferior to budget DVRs. When choosing a board, they also pay attention to the number of sound channels. Modern models are available with the ability to connect 8 cameras and microphones.

SCOPE AND FEATURES OF APPLICATION

Also, video cameras with audio recording function are used to control negotiations and the quality of customer service.

From a legal point of view, the use of such equipment is allowed, subject to compliance with current legislation (installation of video surveillance in rest rooms, dining rooms, changing rooms, etc. is prohibited).

Covert (unspoken) video recording with sound is also prohibited. (See the material on the legality of video surveillance).

Another advantage of video surveillance with audio recording is the ability to obtain more complete information about the situation at the protected facility. There are cases when it was audio control that made it possible to speed up the process of identifying intruders.

Considering the fact that most modern IP cameras are equipped with a built-in microphone, video surveillance systems are designed with audio monitoring capabilities in mind. However, video control remains a priority. For example, when choosing a location for a camera, the coverage area of the built-in microphone is rarely considered.

SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS WITH SOUND BROADCASTING

CCTV cameras with audio recording function fall into two broad categories:

  • analog;
  • digital.

The second category is more extensive, the equipment differs in the way of digital data transmission (IP, P2P technologies). There is a steady trend towards the transition to digital video surveillance systems with wider functionality.

Professional analog CCTV cameras with audio recording (options with a built-in microphone) are very rare. The main reason is that high-quality sound recording and audio monitoring require the use of separately installed active microphones.

But given the growing popularity of video systems with an audio channel, some manufacturers offer equipment that provides for connecting an external microphone directly to the camera. This allows you to reduce the cost of organizing the audio system (no need for a separate power line).

As for IP cameras with audio recording, the use of a digital data transmission channel made it possible to initially install a built-in microphone (no additional cable required). At the same time, the sound quality can vary dramatically depending on the equipment model.

So, in budget models, cheap microphones are installed, and the poor recording quality is compensated for by software signal processing (noise cutting).

Often these cameras are equipped with a speaker that allows two-way communication. The scope of such equipment is home video surveillance and security systems for private facilities with low security requirements.

In professional IP cameras, microphones with increased sensitivity are used, and software sound correction is also provided without cutting off quiet sounds, regardless of quality. Also, most professional models allow you to connect an external microphone.

It should be borne in mind that active microphones require a separate power line (PoE cannot be used for an external microphone).

IP VIDEO SURVEILLANCE WITH SOUND RECORDING

Recording sound when using an IP video recorder is extremely simple. in the camera settings, you just need to select the type of video (video and audio) and the sound will be saved on one track with the video recording.

When using a PC or cloud video surveillance services, the settings are the same. you just start the sound recording function in the camera menu. That is, when organizing IP video surveillance with sound, the main attention is paid to the choice of a camera (compliance with the technical characteristics of the equipment to the task).

When deciding to install a video surveillance system with audio recording function, it is recommended to study the available solutions on the market.

When organizing IP systems, it makes sense to immediately purchase equipment with a built-in microphone. this is a rational solution regardless of the scope of video surveillance (the system can always be supplemented with a separate microphone).

An exception is outdoor video cameras, since the high noise level will not allow for effective audio monitoring.

How to set up motion recording in Dahua camera?

Products from the manufacturer Dahua have won incredible popularity among ordinary buyers and professionals. And this is not surprising, because the products are among the three leaders among all manufacturers of security systems. Dahua video surveillance systems are valued for their wide capabilities, reliability and ease of deployment. Setting up an updated video surveillance system and adding new equipment is incredibly simple, so even a person who does not have such experience can easily install and configure it without any problems. Let’s consider with you how to connect cameras and set up motion recording in cameras of the Chinese brand Dahua.

Motion recording setup

To save space on a hard disk or other storage medium, Dahua recorders have the ability to record a picture only if there is movement in front of a motion sensor or on a schedule. You just need to go to the “Schedule” section and select the “Record” tab in it, after that:

  • select the desired channel for recording and click “All” to record from all channels that are in the system;

What cameras can I get video from?

A video surveillance system includes several main types of cameras:

  • Driveways. They are located outside at the front door, in their field of vision the entire space in front of the house falls. than 100,000 such cameras have been installed in the capital. This also includes those that are inside the front ones, but they were not massively installed within the framework of the city program;
  • Yard cameras are dome cameras that are mounted on the roof of one or more houses. They are controllable and have a 10x optical zoom;
  • Cameras in crowded places (MMS) are located in pedestrian zones, busy places, at metro entrances, and so on;
  • ITS (Intelligent Transportation System). Department of Transportation cameras installed at intersections.

You can find out what cameras are near your home and what gets into their lens on the official portal of the open data portal. The register of courtyard video surveillance cameras and the register of driveway surveillance cameras are published there.

How to get a video

In order to receive video from city cameras, you need to call the hotline of the video surveillance system 8 (495) 587-00-02 and ask to save the recording in the archive, specifying the place and time you are interested in. The operator will tell you which cameras are nearby and assign a request number.

It is important to do this within five days after the incident, otherwise the recording will be deleted. And so it will be sent to the archive for another 30 days.

With the assigned number, you need to contact the police. Law enforcement officials will receive and give you an electronic record. Your lawyer can take it too.

Employees of administrations, prefectures, housing and communal services, OATI and other inspection services also have access to the archive from their workplaces.

How to get a recording from city surveillance cameras

play, back, cctv, recording

City surveillance cameras are actively used not only by utilities to track the work of their specialists, but also by law enforcement officers. Last year alone, thanks to external surveillance, 1,700 offenses were uncovered, and the townspeople submitted more than 8,000 applications for booking an archive.

Most often, Muscovites apply for a video if someone damaged a car, a wheelchair, a bicycle disappeared, or if there was a burglary, an assault or a fight.

“The most valuable witnesses of cameras can become if the trouble happened in a residential area, where the density of camera coverage is especially high, or in a public place. near the metro, at a busy intersection,” the press service of the Moscow Information Technology Department explained.

Live access

The Moscow Department of Information Technology is working on the issue of open access to the video surveillance system on the air, without the possibility of viewing the archive.

A test Internet resource has been created, which is already used by several thousand active users of urban electronic services. But the final decision on launching the service to the masses has not yet been made.

In parallel, in several districts, an experiment is being carried out with the installation of video intercoms, when residents can watch the broadcast from the cameras at home on TV on a special channel.

Private cameras in the city system

In the foreseeable future, Muscovites will be able to connect their cameras to a video surveillance system. According to Dmitry Golovin, head of the city video surveillance department of the information technology department, a plan for integrating private cameras into the city system can be developed and approved by the end of the year.

“Residents can be given the opportunity to connect their CCTV cameras and thus ensure peace for themselves that the territory that falls into their interests and is filmed by his video camera will be watched by specially trained users: law enforcement officers and so on,” he said.

Laptop or computer (via program)

In some cases, nothing is connected to the recorder at all: neither a monitor nor a TV. But at the same time, the recorder itself is connected to the home network. After that, it becomes possible to view and control the video surveillance system via a computer or laptop.

This solution saves space and some part of the budget. The only inconvenience may be the case when it will be necessary to copy part of the data to a flash drive. In this case, you will either have to connect the recorder to a monitor or TV, or save the recording first to a computer, and then to a flash drive. But, as a rule, there are no problems with this. After installing the system, we teach how to use it, in addition, along with the equipment, instructions in Russian are attached.

TV set

To connect the DVR to a TV, a regular HDMI cable is used, which, on the one hand, connects to the TV, and on the other hand, to the DVR using a standard HDMI connector. At the same time, some models of recorders, in addition to HDMI output, have an analog video output for connecting to older TV models (tulip).

Otherwise, video viewing is no different from viewing through a monitor.

The TV is convenient in that it saves space. Typically, you already have a TV at home. We only connect an additional channel to it. And to switch from viewing programs to controlling the video surveillance system, you need to select another signal source on the TV remote control, for example, HDMI2.

Camera settings

In the settings, we can set the name of the camera and specify the time zone for the correct display of the time on the camera. There can be cameras with different time zones on the tape at the same time.

Next comes information about the camera: camera type, resolution, model, information about the connected memory card and the ability to format it. Using the specified local IP address, you can enter the camera toolbar while in the local network. There you can update the firmware or change the secret key of the camera.

In the “interval” tab, you can set how often the camera takes pictures in the absence of movement.

In the “motion” tab, the motion sensor is turned on, the sensitivity and motion detection zones are configured. You can also customize how the camera reacts to sudden changes in the frame, for example, turning on the lights.

Here you can set up notifications. The camera will send notifications to Email about disconnection from the network, about turning on, as well as notify about movements, while images from the camera will be attached to the letter.

In the tariff tab, you can extend or change the current tariff. If you pay for more than 3 months, a discount is provided.

In the traffic tab, you can see how much the camera used up Internet traffic by days and months.

Thanks to outdoor surveillance cameras, you can uncover any offense, as they record everything. Many people have a desire to watch a recording from a particular camera or just watch an online broadcast directly on the Internet. Further in the article, you will find out where the information from CCTV cameras is stored, and whether it is possible to view it.

Viewing CCTV Cameras

To view your cameras, go to your personal account at https://webglazok.com/my or go to the WebGlazok mobile application.

In the application, you can view video from cameras for an arbitrary period. Likewise, you can view cameras on a tablet or computer in a browser. Let’s demonstrate a personal account when logging in from a computer. We go to the website webglazok.com and press the login. Enter your Email or phone number and password.

In the center of the screen, we see a picture from the camera. this is either the last recorded movement, or the last picture taken by the time interval.

At the bottom of the screen, there is a timeline of events for each of the cameras. It displays pictures from cameras for a selected period of time. Time goes from left to right, with buttons and. you can change the time scale. You can move the ribbon using the left-right buttons or by dragging. Hours and minutes are signed at the bottom, and the date at the top in a blue box.

When we hover the mouse over the event feed, we see a quick preview of the picture from the camera at the selected time. Recorded movements are marked in red. When you click on a picture on the event feed, you switch to viewing the corresponding video or snapshot.

The camera saves video only during movements in the frame. Let’s move on to movement by clicking on the red mark on the tape. We see a low quality preview frame with a moving object marked with a red rectangle.

You can jump to the next preview frame by pressing the forward or backward buttons, left-right arrows on the keyboard, or by sliding to the side. You can also move between frames using the mouse wheel.

Let’s see who passed here. We press the button to play video. During playback, you can press the stop button and view a detailed frame, for example, a car license plate. Also, to stop the video, you can click anywhere on the video itself or press the spacebar on your keyboard.

To locally save the currently viewed video or frame, press the save button. and we will be offered where to save the video or frame on disk. Video clips are saved in sections of 10 seconds.

To quickly view all events, there are fast forward and rewind buttons. The picture quality decreases during fast rewinding. When you stop at a point of interest, a detailed picture or video is displayed.

The “end” button quickly jumps to the last frame from the camera. The green cursor shows the current time.

When you click on the camera icon, a request is made to the camera to get a fresh frame.

At night, the camera turns on infrared illumination, and it goes into black and white mode.

There is a menu button in the upper right corner. Here we see a list of cameras, and by clicking on the icon we can select which cameras to display on the screen. A green circle means the camera is currently online. By clicking on the gear. let’s go to the camera settings.

SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS WITH RECORDING ON MEMORY CARD

This method is used, as a rule, by IP cameras. The depth of the video archive obtained in this way is determined by:

  • memory card size (of course, it should not exceed the values supported by the device),
  • video stream speed (depends on the resolution, the method of video signal compression, the number of frames transmitted per unit of time, the presence of the motion detection function).

For example, to record an image with a resolution of 1.2 megapixels at 12 frames / second in the H.264 compression format for 1 hour, you will need a card with a capacity of memory

= 2.2 Mbit / s 3600 s / 8 = 990MB where:

  • 2.2. the corresponding bit rate (Mbps);
  • 3600. recording time (seconds);
  • 8.the conversion factor of Bits to Bytes.

HOME CAMERA WITH RECORDING

The first thing to do before choosing a home camera capable of recording is determined by the goals and objectives that you are pursuing. I constantly mention this, since this moment is decisive when choosing the technical characteristics and options of the device.

Several of the most common options:

  • installation of outdoor video surveillance to control the surrounding area;
  • installation of video surveillance for monitoring children, elderly relatives;
  • control of incoming workers (I do not like the word “servant”);
  • purchase of cameras for the organization of video surveillance.

In the first case, no special “delights” are needed. Therefore, you can install a DVR and connect any type of camera to it. It should be noted that in this case, you can get a practically unlimited depth of the video archive and not worry that the recording will be interrupted at the most inopportune moment.

For remote monitoring, a video camera with support for recording to a card or flash drive will be useful as a way to level the variable speed of the Internet connection. If, for some reason, the Internet channel temporarily “falls off”, the information will be saved on the side of the TV camera and, when the connection is restored, sent to the “cloud”.

For some reason, it is believed that the surveillance of incoming workers should be hidden. In this case, I do not see much benefit in using a camera with recording on the built-in media at home. Installing a hidden camera is often more difficult than hiding a recorder. An exception is, again, remote access via the Internet.

If we talk about security, then in this case, video surveillance is best used in integration with burglar alarms. There are enough technical solutions to implement such tasks.

Thus, the use of CCTV cameras with recording for a private house in most cases may be impractical.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS WITH RECORDING ON A FLASH DRIVE

At its core, a flash drive is not much different from a CD card. The most significant differences are:

  • the maximum possible amount of memory;
  • type of connector for connection.

If the memory card can be inserted directly into the camcorder body, then the flash drive uses the USB connector as a connector. Typically, it is placed on a flexible wire outside the cctv camera body.

For analog video cameras, it can be done using a video capture (video capture) card installed in a computer or on a digital video recorder, that is, a separate additional device is required. The IP camera can be connected directly to the PC, but, in any case, the camera here is not a recording device.

CCTV recording time.

Regardless of the recording method, the storage time is determined by the parameters of the video stream and the capacity of the storage medium: HDD, memory card or flash drive. Considering at the beginning of the article the method of recording on a memory card, I gave an example of calculating the depth of the archive (recording time).

When using the DVR, a separate program is not required. it is contained in the instrument itself. For video capture cards, the corresponding programs are supplied with the product.

IP cameras can also work with the software supplied with them. In addition, many of them have their own web client installed directly from the video camera when it is first connected to a computer.

WIRELESS COURSE CAMERA WITH RECORDING

The temptation to use a recording camera for wireless covert video surveillance is understandable. Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of such technical solutions.

The undoubted advantage, of course, is the lack of wires. This greatly simplifies the hidden installation process. I draw your attention to the fact that two options are possible here:

  • the use of hidden cameras with the possibility of wireless data transmission;
  • the use of an autonomous camera that works exclusively “for itself”.

The first option can cause inconvenience in camouflaging the antenna and power wires. The use of an autonomous voltage source requires its periodic replacement, which is quite inconvenient. A fairly reasonable question arises. why, in this case, write to a memory card or USB flash drive. There are several arguments in favor of such a decision.

First, you can opt out of recording on the side of the checkpoints. You can simply periodically remotely view the information on the carrier. If necessary, noteworthy files can be selected manually and downloaded.

Secondly, the wireless transmission rate may not be stable and vary depending on the time of day, electromagnetic environment, and the load on the WI-FI network. True, in addition to digital technologies, there are types of wireless video surveillance cameras, but IP systems are best suited for these purposes. But we got a little distracted.

The second method is applicable if a hidden camera is installed temporarily. Otherwise, the need to read information from the recorder will cause a lot of trouble.

CCTV CAMERAS WITH RECORDING

Almost all systems existing today provide for the ability to record images from CCTV cameras to one or another device. Let’s take a look at the main ways to create video archives.

There are several ways to record video information. It can be carried out:

  • to a memory card;
  • on a USB flash drive;
  • HDD.

HINDI||HOW TO CHECK CCTV CAMERA RECORDING||HOW TO PLAYBACK CCTV CAMERA

In the first two cases, the camera can work autonomously. The third option involves connecting it to a DVR or computer.

Analog video cameras can only be used in conjunction with a DVR or PC. Thus, in order to organize the recording in this case, it is required to build a “full-fledged” video surveillance system.

IP technologies make it possible to implement the recording option in any form, including on the side of the TV camera. Let’s take a closer look at each of these methods.

VIDEO RECORDING FEATURES & FUNCTIONS

When using any method of creating a video archive in order to save media memory, such recording modes can be applied as:

  • Scheduled;
  • by movement.

For this, the recording device has a day of the week and time settings during which video recording of events will be carried out.

A very popular and effective mode, the essence of which is to configure the field of view, when motion is detected in it, the desired video fragment will be saved on the appropriate media. The motion detector can be implemented on the side of an external recorder, DVR or PC, or directly by means of a video surveillance camera. IP video cameras have such capabilities.

You should also pay attention to the overwrite function. When activated, after filling the media with video information, the oldest recordings will be automatically deleted, providing space for new files.

Concluding the topic, it is worth saying a few words about the organization of recording for covert video surveillance systems. The temptation to use a camera with a memory card for this is quite large, however, the peculiarities of its installation can make reading (viewing) the necessary information rather difficult due to limited access to the desired device, as mentioned above.

Detailed step-by-step instructions for deleting recordings from CCTV cameras

Today, one of the main components of security systems is a video surveillance system. Records from surveillance cameras are stored for a certain time, since the video archive is often used to clarify various controversial situations. However, not everyone knows how to delete a recording from a surveillance camera. The way to remove it depends on the storage medium.

How to forcibly delete a recording from a CCTV camera?

To delete information from the media, you need to figure out on which device it is still stored, since they can be completely different.

When recording to a memory card

The archive can be stored on a memory card connected to a digital video surveillance camera, on a card reader with a memory card, on an external hard drive or on a regular flash drive. Most often, the USB connector is used for connection.

When connected to a computer

Recording can be carried out on a hard disk (on a computer), respectively, you need to get physical access to it or data for remote connection.

If you have a DVR

often than others, the recording is on the hard drive of the DVR. You can erase the video by going to the DVR menu (you will need a local connection and access to the DVR) or by connecting to the DVR from a computer (you will need authorization data). In both cases, data will be required (login / password from the registrar). After connecting to the DVR, everything is simple, you need to go to the hard disk management menu, format it.

How long are the recordings from surveillance cameras kept??

The maximum recording time depends on several factors and is determined solely on a case-by-case basis. The record retention period is influenced by:

  • Industry interests.
  • Legislative requirements.
  • Internal control regulations.
  • Time of obtaining permission to view.
  • The presence of recurring events.

How to playback CCTV on a DVR

For example, in some organizations there are special services that assess the quality of the work of employees by video. Since such videos are carefully and regularly viewed, there is no need for their long-term storage.

The situation is complicated if the video footage affects the personal rights of citizens. In this case, you will need to obtain permission to access, which takes a lot of time and this factor must be taken into account when calculating the storage period. Typically, in commercial systems, CCTV recordings are stored for no more than two to three weeks.

In most cases, the archived data is stored on the memory card of the DVR or hard disk. The hard disk is reliable and has a large enough memory. For professional systems, this method of storing information is considered the only possible storage device, because we are talking about storing a very large amount of information.

Also, memory cards that come with car DVRs and some models of IP cameras are not suitable for storing such a volume of data. Models with 32 GB or 64 GB are enough only for maintaining an archive for 1-3 days and even if the recording is carried out using a motion sensor. This period is quite enough for amateur needs.

What if you need to keep recordings from CCTV cameras for a long time? The only way out is to copy all the archived files to a flash drive. It must be stored away from places with high humidity and sources of electromagnetic radiation.

When sending data to the cloud

The video archive can be stored in the cloud. To erase records from the cloud, you will need information with which you can enter the cloud service (password and login).
