From the list of possible problems, you need to select the very first item, and then click the “Next” button to continue.
At the next stage, you must specify the version of the operating system in which the previously selected program worked correctly. After that you need to click “Next”.
As a result, the required changes will be applied. Additionally, you can check the performance of the problem software with new settings. To do this, click the “Check program” button. If everything works as expected, then in the same window, click “Next”.

The AHCI mode of SATA hard drives enables Native Command Queing (NCQ), Device Initiated Power Management (DIPM) technology, and other features such as hot swapping of SATA drives. In general terms, enabling AHCI mode can improve the speed of hard drives and SSDs in the system, mainly due to the advantages of NCQ.
This instruction is about how to enable AHCI mode in Windows 10 after installing the system, if for some reason reinstallation with AHCI mode pre-enabled in the BIOS or UEFI is not possible, and the system was installed in IDE mode.
I note that this mode is already enabled for almost all modern computers with a pre-installed OS, and the change itself is especially important for SSD drives and laptops, since the AHCI mode allows you to increase SSD performance and, at the same time (albeit slightly), reduce power consumption.
And one more detail: the described actions in theory can lead to undesirable consequences, such as the inability to start the OS. And therefore, take on them only if you know what you are doing it for, know how to get into the BIOS or UEFI and are ready, if something happens, to fix unforeseen consequences (for example, by reinstalling Windows 10 from the very beginning in AHCI mode).
You can find out if the AHCI mode is currently enabled by looking in the UEFI or BIOS settings (in the parameters of SATA devices) or directly in the OS (see screenshot below).
You can also open the drive properties in Device Manager and, on the Details tab, view the path to the hardware instance.

Enabling AHCI with Windows 10 Registry Editor
