Xperia XA1 G3121 glass is broken. Screen repair and replacement
Published by soboris on 11.12.2018 11.12.2018
They brought a SONY Xperia XA1 G3121 for repair, whose glass broke and the display began to show stripes.
Even if the image showed a normal picture, you still need to change the display module (screen). Just the fact that the image disappeared. accelerated the appeal of the owner of the smartphone to the service center, because using the smartphone in this state is not possible 🙂 The client says. calls and messages are coming, but it’s not clear where to poke ))
Displays come in two types of quality. original and Chinese copy.
Disassembly SONY Xperia XA1 G3121 is not complicated.
The back cover has snaps and can be easily pushed off at the bottom with a spatula.
How to disassemble Sony Xperia XA1 G3121 / G3112 Take apart Tutorial
A small digression. A couple of months ago, this smartphone has already managed to change the screen, but in a different service. As it turned out, in this other service the masters are those who like to do something “not according to Feng Shui,” so they glued the battery not into the frame of the case, but for some reason put the battery in the case without adhesive tape, but glued the adhesive tape on top and put a cover on top, as a result, after their repair, pulling off the cover. you also pull off the battery glued to the cover. Thus, you can break the battery cable and even close it, which could lead to a battery fire. These are the perverts caught in the last service))
With little difficulty in removing the cover and battery and the cover is removed 🙂
Now we unfasten the battery cable for further manipulations.
By the way, according to the battery label, you can identify the model of SONY Xperia.
LIP1635ERPCS. the battery is suitable for Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA Dual. these are G3121 and G3112.
Now you can connect a new display and test it. We always do this. we test before gluing.
By the way, about the sensor. the owner of the smartphone told a little story about how, almost new, the same phone, stopped responding to touching the touch screen from above and below by a centimeter. As a result, the curtains could not be pulled out. Under the guarantee, he took it to the official SONY service, where he was refused, having found fault with scratches on the case. As a result, I had to change in another paid service.
Compare the flex cable of the old and new display module SONY Xperia XA1 G3121 and glue the module.
By the way, only professionals know how to cram the Xperia XA1 module. It doesn’t fit so easily, because the frame is narrow and the inner protrusions of the screen are wider 🙂
The battery was glued as expected at the factory and the phone was assembled as expected 🙂
The repair was completed successfully. The repair took about one hour 🙂

Hard reset on Sony Xperia. several ways
As you may have already understood, this guide is devoted to how to hard reset Sony Xperia. We will consider several working options for performing this action and why it is needed at all and in what cases it is useful. By itself, a hard reset is a complete reset of the system of your smartphone or tablet to its original settings, of course, with the complete removal of all personal data from the internal memory (everything remains in place on the SD card). Synonyms for this concept can be called the following: hard reboot, factory reset, wipe data and, in fact, these concepts define the same action. reboot the device with a rollback of the system to its drain state.
There is even such a joke that “a hardress is saved from all troubles.” Here are the cases when it is appropriate to hard reset the Sony Xperia:
- when the device malfunctions (you may suspect that the system is infected with a raging virus);
- if you want to reset the configuration and settings of the smartphone to the state “out of the box”;
- the memory of the device is clogged, it is buggy and slows down, there is no desire to mess around with cleaning;
- you plan to sell your favorite gadget and want to delete all personal data and return its system to its stock state, or you yourself want to use the device, which is called from scratch;
- also hard reset is applicable in case of resetting the password and unlocking the smartphone, if you have forgotten it.
It should be understood that this manipulation will completely clear all your data, so before doing it, make a backup, save photos, videos, music, contacts and everything else. Well, now there are several ways how to hard reset on Sony Xperia Z5, Z3, Z2 and other smartphones.
The first way is through the settings menu
The simplest and most effective method. Go to “Settings. Backup & reset. Master reset”. Here you can choose to delete data from memory or not by simply checking the corresponding box. If the smartphone is buggy, the memory is clogged, the system does not work as it should, then we recommend that you check the box and press the “Reset phone settings” button.
The second way is through the service menu
Another easy way if the smartphone is not frozen and you can control it. Open the dialer and enter ### in the dialing field, which will open access to the service menu. In it, select “Customization Settings. Reset customization. Reset customization and reboot”.
The third way is with PC Companion
Each Sony Xperia owner’s computer must have this application installed, which is universal for updating, restoring, creating backups, etc. To restore your smartphone, you need to run “PC Companion –Support Zone. Software Update. Phone / Tablet Recovery”. We wrote about this in detail in the instructions for updating and restoring Xperia.
If the smartphone is frozen, you can reboot it using a special button under the cover (usually near the SIM card table). If the smartphone does not turn on at all. what to do if Sony Xperia does not turn on.
Also earlier, for a hard reset, the key combination “Power button sound up (sound down)” worked, but on new firmware no action occurs when they are clamped.

It should be noted right away that this method is not relevant for all devices. The list of tested models includes models on “pure” Android, Samsung, Huawei, Honor, as well as some Xiaomi.
If you enter the wrong key 5 times in a row, but the display will show a blocking notification with a timer. Below. the button “Forgot your pattern?”, Which should be clicked. The system will automatically offer authorization to the Google account to which the phone is linked. It will be possible to enter your own mail and password only if you have a connection to Wi-Fi or mobile Internet. If there is a network, and authorization was successful, the smartphone will be unlocked and all data will remain in place.
How to unlock your Sony Xperia XA1 Dual phone if you forgot your password or pattern
There are many reasons why you will need to unlock your Sony Xperia XA1 Dual. The graphic key is an auxiliary tool for locking Android smartphones. The operating system offers to install it for joint work with a fingerprint sensor or means for unlocking in the face. The exception is the budget versions of smartphones, in which the pattern is offered as an alternative to the usual digital password. Composing a graphic combination that is too complex can lead to problems. multiple erroneous entries automatically lead to device blocking. You can figure out how to unlock Sony Xperia XA1 Dual if you forgot your password or pattern (whichever you prefer to lock your phone), knowing some of the tricks of modern versions of Android.
Usually, after entering the key incorrectly, the phone displays information about the lock. Here, the operating system offers the user several solutions. Among the main ones are the SOS function, which is necessary to call the rescue services, as well as a means to restore access. We will consider the last option first of all.
The problem can overtake the user at the wrong moment. in the absence of the Internet. In this case, authorization with Google is not possible. There are two ways to deal with this circumstance:
- find a place with Wi-Fi, which is saved in the device (relevant if the automatic connection option is activated in the settings) and perform the steps described above;
- reset to factory settings through a special smartphone menu.
The latter option deserves more detailed consideration. Almost every Android model comes with a stock Recovery utility preinstalled for performing service settings. It is through it that you will have to unlock. Before performing the actions, you should understand that after resetting through Recovery, all files are deleted from the device’s memory. The fate of the elements on the MicroSD card depends on the manufacturer. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you back up your phone data before taking any action.
- Turn off the phone completely.
- Press the mechanical buttons “volume up” and “on / unlock”.
- After the phone emits vibration. release the power button, while holding the “volume up” until the engineering menu appears.
- After opening Recovery, release the button and select Wipe data / factory reset.
Most often, the menu in the Recovery is touch-sensitive, respectively, clicking on Wipe data will turn out as in the usual control of the device. However, on older models, the menu may not display normal sensor operation. In this case, control is implemented as follows:
- selection of menu items. with volume keys;
- confirmation of action. with the power button.
After the reset, the phone will reboot and prompt for initial system setup. Once again, it is worth recalling. a factory reset will delete all user files saved in the smartphone’s memory.

Tactile problems XA1
Some users have reported that the touchscreen is not responsive. Many people have to touch the action multiple times and its fluency is not suitable in games or when moving vertically scrolling a web page.
Mobile is always updated
Of course, we have to make sure that the mobile phone has all the updates released by Sony. The company has released several for the Sony Xperia XA1, and some of them have been related to improving the touch experience. To do this, we go to System Preferences / Updates to make sure we have no pending.
Sony is aware that such glitches can occur and has made some recommendations to try and fix these problems. As we said earlier, if your Xperia XA1’s screen is unresponsive, its sensitivity is too low, or vice versa. try the following solutions as there are other factors such as dirt, heat or some screen protectors that may be causing the problem.
- Make sure the screen protector is adjusted correctly and that there are no bubbles, dust or moisture under the screen.
- Remove the protective cover or case from the device to make sure it does not interfere with the touchscreen.
- Wipe the screen with a clean dry cloth to make sure the touch screen is completely clean. It is also recommended that hands and fingers are clean and dry before using the touch screen.
- If the device is too hot, it may affect the operation of the touch screen. We must let it cool down before continuing to use the touchscreen.
- If the problem occurs while charging the Xperia XA1, we need to make sure we are using an original Sony charger and USB cable specifically designed to charge the device. Other chargers may affect poor touchscreen performance.
- If we have a memory card, it is advised to remove it and restart the device. If removing the memory card solves the problem, the SD card may be damaged.
One way to deal with this factory error is to download an application that allows you to calibrate the touchscreen. To do this we click on this link and download the “APK” file. We need to make sure that our mobile phone has Unknown Sources Installation enabled from the Settings and Security menu.
Once the app is downloaded, we need to copy the “APK” file to the microSD card and start installing it on the phone. Once the tool is installed, we’ll launch it, place the Xperia XA1 on a flat surface and press the button in the center of the screen. The app should calibrate the screen and make the problems go away. After that, we can delete the application, as it will not be more useful.
Sony Xperia XA1 touchscreen problem: how to fix it
Sony has been proud of screen technology for years. The Xperia smartphones have inherited attributes that the Japanese firm has integrated into their TVs over the years. We remember the time of Xperia with Bravia technology, to the most modern terminals in the home, which have OLED screens and 4K resolution. But since no one is free from problems, today we take a look at Xperia XA1 screen crashes and possible solutions.
The Sony Xperia XA1 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2017 as a mid-range device with some interesting attributes such as NFC connectivity, which isn’t much in the mid-range, and a 23MP rear sensor. Exmor RS with Hybrid AF and 88-degree lens. But the device has experienced some screen issues since then.
Disassemble Sony Xperia Z1
Detailed photo instructions: how to disassemble Sony Xperia Z1 review and full specifications of the smartphone Sony Xperia Z1
Step 1. removing the back cover of the Sony Xperia Z1
Before disassembling, turn off the power of the phone and remove the SIM card tray.
The back cover of the smartphone is glued with double-sided tape. Heat the back cover edges with a heat gun to loosen the adhesive holding the back cover.
Next, attach the suction cup tightly to the back cover, preferably closer to the top of the device, and using a spudger and plectrum, start lifting the back cover.
If you feel you have bumped into a large spot of glue, heat the area until the glue weakens there. However, be careful not to overheat the device when doing this, as this may damage some components.
Step 2. unscrew the rear support frame screws
After removing the back cover, you can see the battery and the motherboard. Remove the 9 screws on the rear support frame. Sony Xperia Z1 only has 9 screws.
You have to be careful, some places can be glued well and there are some covered anchorage places. Be careful when removing the base frame.
Step 3. removing the main rear camera and battery
The main camera is removed easily enough.
Disconnect the battery cable connector, then lift the battery with a spudger, there is no glue.
Step 4. detaching the loops and removing some other internal parts
These two cables run along the right and left side of the Sony Xperia Z1, which makes the cell phone signal stable. Cables are quite easy to remove with your fingers.
Remove the bottom speaker, it is secured with the screws we unscrewed in Step 2 using a spudger or tweezers.
Remove the motherboard, but be careful not to break any loose connections.
Make sure all connectors have been disconnected as shown in the picture above. Remove the front camera metal bracket from the motherboard.
Be careful, there are four hidden dots under the motherboard, free them with a spudger, then you can easily remove the motherboard.
Remove the front camera, which is attached to the motherboard with a ribbon cable and strong glue. Pull the train with tweezers. Raise the camera despite the resistance of the adhesive, then it will be released.
Remove the speaker with tweezers. Be very careful not to touch or damage the transparent membrane.
Disconnect the headphone jack, proximity sensor and vibration motor.
Separate the display from the main frame with a spudger and picks.
Remove the headphone jack, sensor and vibration motor
Hint: This is very difficult to do due to the strong adhesive. If you break a sensor or headphone jack, you will have to replace the entire part because they share a common cable. If the vibration motor is broken, then you only need to replace it. We do not recommend that you do this yourself unless you have the appropriate qualifications.

Last spring in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress, Sony not only took pride in its flagship smartphone Xperia XZ Premium, treated kindly by the press and critics, but also managed to present a new product from the middle class, which became the successor of the Xperia XA family. The new smartphone, dubbed the Sony Xperia XA1, does not have cool flagship features like recording slo-mo videos at 960 frames per second, but it can also do something. Today we present a detailed review of one of the most balanced and affordable models of modern smartphones from the Japanese manufacturer.
The hardware platform of the Sony Xperia XA1 is based on the MediaTek MT6757 (Helio P20) single-chip system, made using 16-nanometer technology. This SoC includes eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores in two clusters clocked at 1.6 or 2.3 GHz. A dual-core GPU Mali-T880 is responsible for graphics processing. The RAM is 3 GB and the built-in flash memory is 32 GB. Initially free 23 GB of file storage and 1.7 GB of RAM.
There is the possibility of expanding the memory by installing microSD cards. A separate option for formatting the card as internal storage is not offered, but after formatting it is still possible to transfer part of the application data to the memory card. You can also connect external flash drives in USB OTG mode.
The MediaTek MT6757 (Helio P20) is a relatively fresh 2016 SoC designed for mid-range smartphones and tablets. It is quite productive: Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 level and noticeably more powerful than the previous MediaTek MT6755 (Helio P10). In the AnTuTu test, the hero of the review demonstrates quite decent 60K points and more, this is a confident average level.
This SoC provides the system with confident performance and in real scenarios allows the smartphone to cope with any modern tasks. There are no problems with games either, all games we tested, including Modern Combat 5, Mortal Kombat X and others, run smoothly.

Benchmarking AnTuTu and GeekBench:
All the results obtained by us when testing the smartphone in the latest versions of popular benchmarks, we have summarized for convenience in tables. Several other devices from different segments are usually added to the table, also tested on similar latest versions of benchmarks (this is done only for a visual assessment of the obtained dry numbers). Unfortunately, within the framework of one comparison, it is impossible to present the results from different versions of benchmarks, therefore, many worthy and relevant models remain “behind the scenes”. due to the fact that they once passed the “obstacle course” on previous versions of test programs.

AndroBench memory speed test results:
Telephone part and communications
MediaTek Helio P20 implements LTE Cat.6 support with a maximum download speed of up to 300 Mbps, and for some regions it is supported by the Sony Xperia XA1 model, while for others slower LTE Cat.4 (up to 150 Mbps) can be used A large number of LTE FDD and TDD frequency bands are supported, including all three bands most widespread in Russia (Band 3, 7, 20). In the city limits of the Moscow region, the device behaved not quite confidently, it “caught” the network for a long time, showed far from the maximum possible speeds in familiar test points, and there were always one or two “sticks” on the indicators, although this, of course, was not quite an objective indicator. In general, I got the impression that once again the Sony smartphone is not doing very well with the sensitivity of the radio modem, such a sin is found behind them.
In addition, Bluetooth 4.2 is supported, both Wi-Fi bands (2.4 and 5 GHz), there is NFC with support for Mifare Classic, that is, the device works with an application for travel documents. You can organize a wireless access point via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. USB Type-C connector supports connecting external devices in USB OTG mode.
There are no complaints about the operation of the navigation module, it can work both with GPS (with A-GPS) and with the domestic Glonass. The first satellites during a cold start are detected within a minute. The smartphone is equipped with a magnetic field sensor, on the basis of which the digital COMPASS of navigation programs usually functions.
When dialing a number, Smart Dial is supported with search by the first letters in contacts. In the phone book, you can find standard Android options for sorting and displaying contacts.
In the conversational dynamics, the voice of a familiar interlocutor remains recognizable, the sound is clear, not very loud, the vibration alert is below average.
The platform supports active waiting for both SIM cards in 3G / 4G at the same time. That is, the card can be actively waiting in the network not only in 2G, but also in 3G, even if another card is assigned for data transmission in 3G / 4G. The interface allows you to select a specific SIM card for SMS, voice calls and data transfer in advance. Cards work in Dual SIM Dual Standby mode, there is only one radio modem.
The Sony Xperia XA1 features an IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass. Perhaps, formally, this glass belongs to the category of 2.5D glasses, but the slope of the edges is very weak, the curves are barely marked. A certain image enhancement technology is used without any designations or names. The dimensions of the screen are 62 × 110 mm with a diagonal of 5 inches. The resolution is 1280 × 720, the dot density is about 293 ppi. The frame around the screen has a minimum (about a millimeter of the black frame and about a millimeter of the body itself) thickness from the sides, 2 mm in total. But the indents above and below are from 16 to 17 mm.
The brightness of the display can be manually adjusted or set to automatic settings based on the operation of the ambient light sensor. AnTuTu test diagnoses support for 4 simultaneous multitouch touches.
Alexey Kudryavtsev, editor of the “Monitors” and “Projectors and TV” sections, carried out a detailed examination using measuring devices. Here is his expert opinion on the screen of the test sample.
The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-glare properties of the screen are better than that of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) (hereinafter simply Nexus 7). For clarity, here is a photo in which a white surface is reflected in the turned off screens of both devices (Sony Xperia XA1, as it is not difficult to determine, is on the right, then they can be distinguished by their size):
Both screens are dark, but the Sony screen is still darker (its brightness in the photo is 108 versus 112 for the Nexus 7). The tripling of reflected objects in the Sony Xperia XA1 screen is very weak, which indicates that there is no air gap between the outer glass (aka touch sensor) and the matrix surface (OGS type screen. One Glass Solution). Due to the smaller number of boundaries (such as glass / air) with very different refractive indices, such screens look better in conditions of intense ambient light, but their repair in the case of cracked outer glass is much more expensive, since the entire screen has to be changed. On the outer surface of the screen there is a special oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating (effective, better than that of the Nexus 7), so fingerprints are much easier to remove, and appear at a slower rate than in the case of regular glass.
With manual brightness control and displaying the white field in full screen, its maximum value was about 490 cd / m², and the minimum was 40 cd / m². The maximum value is high, and given the excellent anti-glare properties, the screen should be clearly visible in bright daylight. In complete darkness, the brightness can be lowered to a comfortable level. Automatic brightness control works according to the light sensor (it is located to the right of the logo on the front panel). In automatic mode, when the ambient light conditions change, the screen brightness both increases and decreases. This function is dependent on brightness adjustment. If it is at the minimum, then in complete darkness, the auto brightness function reduces the brightness to 5.5 cd / m2 (dark), in an office illuminated with artificial light (about 550 lux) it sets to 110 cd / m2 (normal), in a bright environment (corresponds to illumination on a slightly cloudy day outdoors. about 10,000 lx) increases to 500 cd / m² (even slightly above the maximum with manual adjustment). If the brightness slider is at half the scale, then the screen brightness for the three conditions indicated above is as follows: 50, 210 and 500 cd / m² (a little bright in the dark). If the dimmer is set to a maximum of 110, 320, 500 cd / m² (the first two values are too high). We were more satisfied with the option with a slider by about 10%. 30, 140, 500 cd / m². It turns out that the automatic brightness control function works adequately and to some extent allows the user to customize his work for individual requirements. At any brightness level, there is no significant backlight modulation, so there is no screen flicker either.
This screen uses an IPS type matrix. The micrographs show the typical IPS subpixel structure:
For comparison, you can see the gallery of photomicrographs of screens used in mobile technology.
The screen has good viewing angles without inverting shades (except for the darkest when deviating along one diagonal) and without significant color shift even with large gaze deviations from the perpendicular to the screen. For comparison, here is a photo in which the screens of Nexus 7 and Sony Xperia XA1 display the same images, while the brightness of the screens was initially set to about 200 cd / m² (across the white field in full screen), and the color balance on the camera was forced to 6500 K.
White field perpendicular to the plane of the screens:
Note the good uniformity of brightness and color tone of the white field.
The colors are moderately saturated on both screens, the color balance is noticeably different.
Now at an angle of about 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen:
It can be seen that the colors did not change much on both screens, but in the Sony Xperia XA1, the contrast decreased to a greater extent due to the more lightening of the black, and there were also signs of inverting the dark shades.
Angle brightness on both screens has noticeably decreased, but in the case of the Sony Xperia XA1, the brightness drop is slightly less. The black field, when deviated along the diagonal, is lightened strongly and acquires a purple or reddish tint. The photos below demonstrate this (the brightness of the white areas in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the screens is the same for the screens!):
When viewed from a perpendicular view, the uniformity of the black field is good:
Contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is normal. about 860: 1. Black-white-black response time is 25ms (12ms on 13ms off). The transition between gray tones of 25% and 75% (based on the numerical value of the color) and back takes 35 ms in total. The gamma curve, plotted using 32 points at equal intervals in terms of the numerical value of the shade of gray, showed no blockage in either the highlights or the shadows. The exponent of the approximating power function is 2.20, which is equal to the standard value of 2.20, while the real gamma curve slightly deviates from the power dependence:
Due to the presence of dynamic adjustment of the brightness of the backlight in accordance with the nature of the displayed image (in dark images, the brightness tends to decrease), the obtained dependence of brightness on the hue (gamma curve) may not correspond to the gamma curve of a static image, since the measurements were carried out with sequential output of shades gray for almost the entire screen. For this reason, we carried out a number of tests. determining the contrast and response time, comparing the black illumination at angles. when displaying special templates with a constant average brightness, and not single-color fields across the entire screen. In general, such non-switchable brightness correction does nothing but harm, since it reduces the visibility of gradations in shadows in the case of dark images. In addition, this dynamic adjustment, when displaying any image other than the white field in full screen, significantly underestimates the brightness, which impairs readability in bright light, and besides, constant brightness adjustment can be very annoying.
The spectra show that the matrix light filters mix the components together to a moderate extent:
As a result, the colors visually have a natural saturation. The grayscale balance is good, as the color temperature is close to the standard 6500 K and the deviation from Spectra of absolute black body (ΔE) is below 10, which is considered acceptable for a consumer device. At the same time, the color temperature and ΔE vary little from shade to shade. this has a positive effect on the visual assessment of the color balance. (The darkest areas of the gray scale can be ignored, since the color balance there is not very important, and the error in measuring color characteristics at low brightness is large.)
This smartphone has the ability to correct the color balance by adjusting the intensities of the three primary colors.
What we tried to do, the result is data signed as Corr. in the graphs above. As a result, we slightly improved the balance on the white field, but in fact it makes no sense to engage in correction in this case. In the settings, you can choose one of three correction profiles.
The photos above are taken for the Disable option. Note that the correction works only in Sony applications. when viewing images and, apparently, in a video player. Here’s what happens if you select the Extreme brightness mode profile:
The color contrast is increased, nothing remains of the naturalness of colors. In the Image Enhancement mode, the image correction is not so extreme:
Let’s summarize. The brightness adjustment range of this screen is wide, the anti-glare properties are excellent, which allows you to comfortably use your smartphone both on a sunny day outside and in complete darkness. It is also acceptable to use the mode with automatic brightness adjustment, which works adequately. The advantages include an effective oleophobic coating, no air gap in the layers of the screen and no flicker, good black field uniformity, as well as close to sRGB color gamut and good color balance. The disadvantages are the low stability of black to deviation of the gaze from the perpendicular to the plane of the screen, as well as non-deactivable dynamic adjustment of the backlight brightness. Nevertheless, taking into account the importance of characteristics for this particular class of devices (and the most important thing is the readability of information in a wide range of external conditions), the screen quality can be considered high.
The front module has a 1/4 “Exmor R sensor with 8MP resolution, as well as a 23mm wide-angle lens with f / 2.0 aperture and autofocus, but without its own flash. Maximum light sensitivity of the matrix. ISO 3200.
The quality of the shooting is good: the image is bright, the sharpness across the entire field of the frame is satisfactory, there are no complaints about the detail.
For the main camera, Sony used its 1 / 2.3 ″ 23-megapixel Exmor RS module for mobile with a pixel size of 1.22 microns. The 23mm wide-angle lens has an f / 2.0 aperture. The maximum light sensitivity of the matrix is ISO 6400, but you can manually set only ISO 3200. There is a digital 5x Clear Image zoom and proprietary electronic stabilization SteadyShot, as well as fast hybrid autofocus.
The control menu is standard for all Sony devices, it is not very convenient, since the settings are scattered in different places, but for regular users this is no longer a problem. As a standard, there are automatic and manual shooting control modes, it is possible to download and set additional modes. AR-effect with augmented reality is habitually present.
Manual settings, as usual, offer access to shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, white balance and focusing options. True, the camera always turns on in auto mode if you use the side button.
The camera can shoot video in a maximum resolution of 1080p with the H.264 codec, there are no 4K and 60 fps modes. The camera does not handle video shooting perfectly. Focusing does not fail, but the image is loose, the details are not as high as we would like. The sound recording is clear, but the noise reduction system crushes certain frequencies too much, deafness appears, the sound loses its natural liveliness.
- Movie (27 MB, 1920 × 1080 @ 30 fps, H.264, AAC)
- Movie (25 MB, 1920 × 1080 @ 30 fps, H.264, AAC)
Below are sample photos with our quality Комментарии и мнения владельцев. The camera was commented on by Anton Soloviev.
The camera turned out, as follows from most assessments, not bad. It copes well in high illumination, but at the slightest drop, a large grain from the noise begins to show through. However, it does not always spoil the details: in most cases the noise reduction is quite accurate. It is not uncommon to see small areas of confusion around the edges of the frame. The rest of the camera is really good and can handle documentary shooting.
Software and multimedia
As a software platform, the Android OS version 7.0 and its own proprietary shell are used, which changes little from series to series. However, updates do happen, and right now it is the closest thing to stock Android.
This is not the first time Sony Xperia smartphones have used Xperia Actions technology, which learns user behavior and helps in various situations with customizable parameters and individual recommendations. For example, Xperia can learn to detect what time you usually go to bed and wake up in order to dim the screen and lower the volume of calls during this time. Smart Cleaner automatically disables unused apps and clears cache to free up memory.
Also familiar is the set of preinstalled programs that move from model to model (Movie Creator, Sketch, AVG antivirus). By default, all Sony smartphones are preinstalled with the SwiftKey keyboard.
To play music, the device uses a familiar proprietary player with a familiar set of settings to optimize the sound ClearAudio.
The sound of the main speaker is rather dull and quiet, there are no two stereo speakers, as in the older models. In the headphones, the device sounds more or less worthy: the sound is clear, loud and rich, although low frequencies are not in abundance, and it cannot be called crystal clear. Sony has pre-installed predefined profiles for use with certain in-house made headphones. There is also a built-in FM radio. But there is no voice recorder application in Sony smartphones, as usual.
