The second option is used when there is no access to the STB settings menu:
- On the device case, you need to find the “Reset” or “Recovery” button (if there is none, the button is hidden in the AV-out and pressed with a match).
- Press and hold the button, then disconnect the power cable from the media player, and, while continuing to hold the reset button, after a few seconds reconnect the power.
- The screen should blink, signaling a reboot, then release the “Reset” button.
- In the boot menu that appears, select Wipe Data Factory Reset and click “Ok”.
- Now click Yes. Delete all User Data, agreeing with what is happening in the process of deleting user information.
- After a few seconds, the main menu will appear, where we select the item Reboot system now.
- After a few minutes, the system will reboot.
These actions will be effective in case of system errors on the device. After performing a factory reset, you will have to re-configure your Smart TV set-top box.

- select the section “channel search”;
- in the menu that opens, select autosearch and launch it;
- the procedure takes a few minutes, after which we save the result.
If the found number of channels corresponds to the declared one, the setting is considered to be completely completed. In a situation where certain broadcasts are missing, it is better to try to search for them manually, be sure to check the position of the antenna.
If, after all the manipulations, certain channels are still missing, and the connection is correct, then we restore the basic settings on the set-top box. Next, run the search again.
Indoor antenna
Many people are interested in how to connect a DVB-T2 receiver using a home antenna, because it comes with most TVs. Connecting to an old TV
The signal converter can work even with old models of television receivers when connected to the antenna output (1 in Fig. 3). To do this, you need a piece of antenna wire of the appropriate length and two antenna plugs. In order not to bother with soldering, you can take special F-connectors, the procedure for installing them on the cable is shown in Figure 8.

What do you need to connect “numbers” on an old TV
To receive digital television, the following set of equipment is required:
- Old TV. The later the model is released, the easier it is for it to “make friends” with an external tuner.
- Console. It is she who converts the digital signal into sound and image.
- Conventional antenna. capable of receiving TV transmission of the DVB-T2 standard. (find out in 3 minutes which one is better to choose).
- Cables: antenna (with a characteristic impedance of about 75 ohms) and an adapter through which old TVs (such as Goldstar, Vityaz, Rubin, etc.) are connected to the receiver (more on that below).
- RF modulator. It will be required where not just CRT models are used (the use of CRT does not interfere with the “digital”), but old lamp Soviet designs, whose connection scheme, in principle, does not provide for operation through the “tulip” or the use of other low-frequency inputs.
Connecting to an old TV

How to properly connect a set-top box to a Samsung TV

- Connect the antenna cable to the set-top box. It is he who serves as a signal source.
- Turn on the TV, go to the menu and select the AV mode. The specific method depends on the model of the TV receiver (setting the settings on the Orion apparatus is very different from those used for Horizon with a CRT still of the Soviet production).
- Tune the channels on the digital set-top box. It is important here that the cord is not too long, and the antenna is correctly oriented.
- Store tuned channels in the STB’s memory.
Synchronization
Upon completion, it will display the message “TENET application has been successfully installed.” You need to return to the main menu and re-enter the newly downloaded widget. The application will prompt you to enter a login with a password that is assigned to the device.

Connection and configuration
Setting up digital TV for Smart-TV is performed in the same way as on a regular TV or receiver.
Models with smart TV support when tuning digital channels also solve the problem of storing already present channels. They have a system setting that allows you to select a radiation source (antenna, satellite, cable).
For example, if you manually tune digital TV channels and select a cable as the signal source, the search does not occur in other bands and the programs of terrestrial and satellite TV are saved.
But the setting of digital channels on the TV is not enough to take full advantage of the Smart TV function and you need to connect to the Internet.
There are four methods available for Samsung models:
- Wired Internet. The connection is made using an RJ45 Ethernet network cable to the LAN connector. To connect, you need a home Internet.
- Wi-Fi. Wireless connection with data transfer rates up to 30 Kb / s. Not all TVs with Smart-TV function have a built-in Wi-Fi module. If it is absent, you need to purchase a router with a USB-input connection.
- WPS. This technology allows you to connect to a Wi-Fi network using a router without entering additional settings. It is only available when using a router and must be supported by it.
- PlugAccess. Samsung’s unique internet connection technology, which is only supported by devices from this manufacturer.
After selecting the connection method, the connection is established. You need to go to the settings menu by pressing the corresponding button on the TV or remote control. After opening the Smart-TV interface, you need to enter the settings and select the “Connection” item there.
Establishing a connection
The menu that opens will display a list of available networks.
The further step-by-step connection establishment depends on the connection method:
- Direct connection. An available connection is selected and the password provided by the network operator is entered, after which the entered data are confirmed with the “OK” button. After a few seconds, the connection will be established.
- Using a router. In this case, the data of the router (IP address, port, DNS addresses and password) are registered, which can be found in the operating instructions or obtained from the operator (if leased).
- PlugAccess. It is required to enter the settings item “Connection”. After that, insert the USB drive into the router, wait for the indicator on the device to change, pull out the USB flash drive and insert it into the TV with Smart-TV. After a few seconds, the connection will be established automatically.
After successful connection, you can start setting up Smart-TV on your Samsung TV.
User registration
To perform this procedure, you need to turn on the Smart Hub, to enter which there is a corresponding button (for old Samsung F-series TVs and other models of 2011-2014, there is a green button on the remote control). A menu will immediately open with an offer to register.
You need to follow these steps:
- select the item “Create an account”;
- accept the user agreement (privacy policy);
- enter the desired username and password;
- tick the box “Receive E-Mail on Samsung Smart TV.
