In laptops, this function is performed by a webcam provided by the manufacturer, built into the body, which performs that. the same function as the front camera of a smartphone, and the performance of which we will check with you today.

In general, the word web (from English. web) is translated as a network or web. That is, it is directly related to the World Wide Web called the Internet. In other words, all phrases with the prefix web are directly related to computer technology and the Internet: website, web page, webmaster, webcam and others.

Based on this, we can conclude that a webcam is a small digital video or camera that captures images for the purpose of further transmission over the Internet.

Webcams are divided into two types. household and professional. Household ones, which include the built-in cameras of laptops, are less powerful, do not independently record video, but only transfer a digitized image to a computer. Household cameras built into a laptop are enough for communicating on the Internet. messengers and participation in webinars. Professional. they already have the ability to record any conferences or vlogs. This is actually the main difference between professional web. cameras from household.

Personally, I had a question how to test the camera on a laptop while studying one of the materials on creating a video recording in the training from the social project “One Family”. I found out that it is impossible to check a WEB-camera on a Windows 7 laptop using the system itself, Windows does not have such functionality. I learned that to test the camera’s performance, you need to use the services of additional applications (Skype, Windows Movie Maker and others), which means downloading and installing them, or check the camera on a computer online.

In general, I tested several ways to check the web. cameras, I have identified for myself two, in my opinion, the most optimal and simple ones, which I will now share with you. this is checking the camera on a laptop using the Skype messenger, and checking the web. laptop cameras online, using the WEBCAMMIC TEST online service.
