Hikvision camera setup. Detailed Guide VIDEO
Setting up a Hikvision camera is within the power of even an inexperienced user, because. The manufacturer did everything to make the setup as easy as possible. Let’s take a look at the DS-2CD2420F-I as an example. Other Hikvision cameras are configured similarly.
Hikvision camera setup
There will be four steps in total:
- Connecting an IP camera to a router
- IP camera activation
- Configuring network parameters
- Add a camera to the cloud
Connecting an IP camera to a router
To do this, you need to connect the camera to a router and apply power to it.
The computer on which you configure the camera must also be connected to the router.
IP camera activation
You can activate the camera through the web browser interface or use the SADP Tool program. It is much easier to do this through the program, because Perhaps you do not know the IP address of your camera or the addresses correspond to the settings of your router, which will significantly complicate access to the camera through a browser.
Download SADP Tool, Install and run. A list of cameras and DVRs connected to the router will appear. In my case, this is one DS-2CD2420F-I camera and one DS-N104 video recorder. We mark the camera, after which it generates a password.
If the program does not display your camera, try clicking “Refresh”. If the camera still does NOT appear in the list, the program is probably being blocked by a firewall (firewall), or there is a problem with the physical connection of your camera.
- Check the connection of the camera: whether the indicators on the camera are on and whether the indicator on the port of the router to which you connected the camera is on. Also make sure your computer is connected to the router.
- Temporarily disable the firewall (firewall) or create an appropriate rule.
Configuring network parameters
In the same program SADP Tool you need to assign IP addresses from the address range of your router. For example, if the IP of the router is 192.168.1.1, then the address you choose must belong to the same subnet 192.168.1.2-254, if 192.168.100.1, then your range is 192.168.100.2-254, etc.
In my case, the router addresses are 192.168.0.1. I chose 192.168.0.51 for the camera and 192.168.0.50 for the DVR. Before setting IP addresses, first Uncheck the box next to “Enable DHCP”.
When selecting IP address Make sure the address is not occupied by another device on the network.
This completes the basic setup of the Hikvision camera. Now let’s move on to adding an IP camera to the clouds.
Adding an IP camera to the EZVIZ cloud
EZVIZ. This is a cloud service that provides remote online viewing, two-way audio communication, alarm notifications, as well as recording directly to your phone or laptop on demand. It is also possible to view the archive from the DVR, provided that the DVR is also added to the EZVIZ cloud.
There are two ways to add a camera: first. from a smartphone or tablet, the second. from a computer or laptop. Consider both ways.
Ezviz on smartphone or tablet
Download the EZVIZ app from the Play Market if your device runs on Android, or from the App Store if you use Apple products.
After you install and run the app, you need to Register if you do not already have an EZVIZ account. You will be offered two ways: via email or using a mobile phone.
Choose a method convenient for you and proceed to registration. After you register an EZVIZ account, you can add any Hikvision IP camera or DVR. The EZVIZ service also supports HiWatch products. budget brand developed by Hikvision.
We add a camera by scanning a QR code, or through a serial code, which can be found on the device itself.
After you add the camera, you will also need to enter the verification code (Verification code), which can also be found on the device.
After you have managed to add a device, click on it and if everything is done correctly, a picture will appear.
Ezviz on a computer or laptop
This method is less convenient than registration using a mobile phone. Suitable for those who have a second way to go through the geristraction procedure.
Follow the link EzvizLife.com. On the page that opens, at the top you need to click Cloud Sign In. You will have to use the Internet Explorer browser, because. Hikvision refused to work with other browsers and when trying to log in, the following message appears.
How to register in EZVIZ from a laptop and add a Hikvision camera is shown in detail in
Setting up a new Hikvision CCTV system
Recently I received an offer to make a video surveillance system, which will consist of 8 HIKVISION DS-2CD2022WD-I outdoor cameras and a DS-7600 Series video recorder. I would like to share some of the subtleties in the setup that I encountered.
Having received all the necessary equipment, I thought that there would be no problems with the settings. It is more difficult to organize the installation process on site. And proceeded to unpack.
Here is such an inconspicuous little recorder Hikvision DS-7600, a set of various bolts and wires to it, and eight DS-2CD2022WD-I outdoor video cameras.
All the pieces of paper, CD-disks and instructions I immediately dumped into a separate box does not read. I mounted the hard disks in the region and proceeded directly to the settings.
After turning on the recorder for the first time, I immediately became wary because of the enhanced security settings. It was necessary to come up with a complex password for access. at least 8 characters with letters and numbers of different case. And besides the password, there is also a graphic password. just like on a smartphone. I had to write down all the passwords at once, otherwise later I would have been left with “access to the body”.
After everything was carefully configured, the network was registered, the passwords were written down, I relaxed a little. And I connected the first camera to the recorder. I decided that I will connect one camera at a time and immediately configure it as I need, and not using a computer, browser or the supplied software. Looking ahead, I will say that it was a wrong decision.
When the camera was connected for the first time, it had to be “activated”. THOSE. Come up with a complex password of at least 8 characters again, like for a DVR. And only then it will be possible to manage the settings. I did not hesitate to enter a random combination of symbols and did not remember them at all. The camera “activated”, but did not start up to the settings, requiring a password. Videos will not be sent without a password either. Such an abundance of “secrecy” began to grow irritation.
Putting the first camera aside, I took the second one and connected it to the recorder. When he “saw” her, I did not go into the settings and immediately pressed the button with the green plus sign. “Connect a video camera”. The chip worked. The video recorder activated it himself, registered the network settings and displayed the video signal on the screen. Hooray!
But the joy did not last long. When I connected the third camera in the same way. The DVR automatically assigned it to the same IP address as the previous one. Therefore, the second camera “went out”, and the third began to be displayed in splendid isolation.

Realizing that I do not know what password the recorder has written into the cameras, and that there was no access to the settings either. pressed the Reset button on the side of the camera. The image from the third camera on the screen disappeared and appeared from the previous, second. As a result, I realized that Reset does NOT work as it should on any of the three cameras.
Swearing, I turned on my laptop and installed the software supplied with the cameras. The native program saw its cameras, showed that they were “activated”, but did NOT allow anything to be changed. After that I tried to connect to the cameras through the browser. Of course, here, too, everything rested on the password. Having tried to deceive him with the password “admin” and “12345”, I noticed the inscription: “You have 2 attempts left. After that, the device will be blocked ”! Okay, turn off the light, I thought. Have arrived. Now it’s definitely time to read the instructions.
Reading the instructions and the internet immediately had a positive effect. The missing information instantly helped to come up with the correct algorithm of actions and set up the system. Here are the conclusions I made for myself.
The new camera does not need to be immediately attached to the DVR. First, he automatically prescribes his network settings to her, and they will still need to be rewritten. Secondly, if you did not “activate” the camera yourself, you will have to reset it to the factory settings. Although, of course, if you do not mess up and do everything right, you can register everything with the help of the recorder. But with the help of a computer it is much more convenient and understandable.
The software that came with the cameras was NOT useful to me. One of the programs can work instead of a DVR on a computer. And the second allows you to find the camera on the network and change its settings.
I found the most convenient way to configure through the browser. At the first launch, you will need to download and install the plugin for the image to appear. After restarting the browser. everything shows and everything is configured normally. over, you must use Internet Explorer. Chrome does NOT want to display anything even with a plugin.
And to reset the HIKVISION DS-2CD2022WD-I camera to factory settings, and, most likely, some other Hikvision models, you need:
- Disconnect the camera from the power supply;
- Press the reset button;
- Turn on the power;
- Wait 30 seconds
- Release the reset button.
The camera will then restart with the initial default settings.
Algorithm for setting up a video surveillance system
The correct algorithm for the initial setup of the HIKVISION video surveillance system, in my opinion, is.
Connect to the new camera using its standard IP address 192.168.1.642. Create and enter a complex password, thereby “activating” the camera. 3. Make all the necessary settings. Make one subnet with the DVR. 4. Connect the camera to the DVR. 5. When he “sees” it, go to the settings and enter the password. An image will appear.
And so all the new cameras take turns.
Ivideon Server 3.6.0: configuration via the cloud, local archives on cameras, data storage on different disks and other innovations
Ivideon Server 3.6.0!
The first version of Ivideon Server 2018 has an impressive list of changes and new features.
Configuring cameras via the cloud
Now most of Hikvision, Nobelic and Dahua cameras, as well as a number of Oco Pro models connected to Ivideon Server, can be configured directly through the cloud in your personal account. Supports control of resolution, bit rate and number of frames per second for the main and additional streams. It is possible to turn the microphone on and off, configure the IR illumination, configure the time zone and turn on / off the camera.
Local data recording
Edge Storage mode is available for Nobelic, Dahua, Hikvision series of cameras and several Oco Pro camera models. It allows you to work with a local archive located on board the camera connected to Ivideon Server. This allows you to install Ivideon Server on inexpensive devices without a hard disk and work with a distributed local archive recorded directly on board cameras.
Independent archives
The ability to create several independent local video archives, including on different disks, with their own settings. Allows you to more efficiently distribute the load when writing and reading in a system with a large number of cameras and Multiple storage drives.
Hardware video transcoding
Support for hardware video transcoding by the built-in graphics chipset, which significantly increases the performance of Ivideon Server. even more cameras on the same hardware.
Linux
Extended support for V4L (Video for Linux) subsystem for Linux users.
ONVIF update
The module for working with cameras via ONVIF protocol has been improved: support for non-standard ports, ONVIF operation via HTTPS, expanding the list of cameras working via ONVIF.
PTZ cameras are now controlled directly in the Ivideon Server settings dialog.
Setting up additional streams
Manually adding and configuring additional streams in Ivideon Server for cameras that are not in the list of supported equipment. This allows more efficient use of system resources, for example, when analyzing an additional stream of lower resolution by a motion detector.
Video surveillance software Ivideon Server will allow you to view live video feed and archive of video recordings from webcams and IP cameras via a local network and the Internet. Install Ivideon Server and get access to your cameras right in your browser through your Ivideon account.

How to Install and Configure Hikvision DVR | NPO Infotech
How to install and configure the DVR
Customers who bought cameras and recorders often DO NOT understand how to connect and configure them by themselves. Although it is not difficult at all, and so you do not have to pay for calling a specialist.
So, let’s try to tell you in a simple and accessible way how to set up the DVR.
Let’s look at Turbo HD (TVI) cameras and DVRs first. There will be two options:
1. Connecting the camera to the recorder, and then to the monitor (viewing video only from this monitor):
2. Setting for viewing from computers on the local network and Internet access. This means that you can watch the video from any place where there is a PC and the Internet, even from a mobile phone:
Before the whole procedure of connecting with the DVR, it must be unscrewed (at the bottom there are 4 screws on all models, and on some 2-3 more from each side at the attachment points of the rack corners) and place the hard disk there, connecting it with the wires supplied (also like a computer) and put it back together.
After unpacking the camera, we see three screws with dowels (it’s clear why) and, in fact, the camera itself with two plugs. The first one is connected to a 12 v power supply (unfortunately, it does NOT come with the camera). Second. To connect to the registrar. For this we need a coaxial cable and two BNC connectors (not included).
Using three dowels, install the camera in a suitable place chosen for it and pull the cable to the recorder.
The coaxial cable for each camera needs to be stripped on both sides. In a nutshell: inside the cable there is a copper core, cutting off everything that goes on the floor of this core (insulation, braid, second insulation) to expose it by 5-6 mm.
The most convenient way to do this is using a special “clothespin knife” (Cutting tool for a coaxial cable), well, or an ordinary cutter (a clerical knife. Just carefully).
We will mount BNC connectors to these cleaned places.
We use quite convenient BNC-spring connectors.
Next, we unwind the BNC connector and see a very simple picture there. There is one small screw, which is screwed perpendicularly into a copper tube, into which we insert our cable core.
We unscrew this screw a little, insert the core and clamp the screw back, some metal “ears” appeared on the cable insulation floor, we squeeze them with pliers so that the wire would hold securely in the connector. Cord ready.
We connect one side of it to the camera plug using the “insert and scroll” method. Rotate the top of the connector to securely attach the plug to it. We also connect the second side to the DVR in one of the 4/8/16/32 sockets, under which it says “video in”.
The situation with the network recorder is much simpler. IP cameras are connected to the second connector by a standard Ethernet patch cord with RJ-45 connectors on both sides to the switch, like the recorder itself. We will NOT describe how to make such patch cords, such information is very common on the Internet. If the switch has PoE (Power over Ethernet) or such a switch is built into the DVR itself, then it is NOT required to connect power to the first connector of the camera.
However, with an NVR (Network Recorder), it is not enough to just connect the cameras to a switch or to the PoE interfaces of the DVR itself. they need to be registered in it, a link on how to do this will be given below in accordance with the procedure.
Next, connect the 12 / 48v power supply (which is included in the kit) to the DVR into a socket labeled 12v or 48v, respectively. Connect the mouse (included) to USB and connect the monitor to the DVR using a VGA cable or HDMI cable. You can also connect to the Turbo HD recorder using a coaxial cable, where on one side there is a BNC connector, and on the other RCA (tulip), a TV.
Turn on the registrar
In order to understand how to set up the DVR. You need to turn it on first. At this point, the DVR may start beeping (beeping). This can happen for a reason if you forgot to insert, for example, a hard disk into it. We’ll tell you a little later where to find the cause and how to turn off the annoying beeping.
So, we activate the device, enter the password for the admin user. Upon request, you will need to enter a password, whatever you come up with. The harder the better.
The user must enter the administrator password. You need to come up with a password yourself and it must contain from 8 to 16 characters. The password should be carefully memorized or written down in a safe place, as the reset procedure is extremely time consuming and laborious!
After entering the password, many registrars, for ease of maintenance, are prompted to enter a graphic password, but there, I think, you will figure it out.
Then there will be a question whether to launch the assistant?
In this window, be sure to uncheck the box next to the “Run the assistant when you turn on the DVR”, because. We will definitely not do the setting every time. But the first time you can use it. We click “trail”. And in turn, windows with basic settings will appear on the monitor.
Configuring the time zone, time and date.
After that there will be a window with network settings. For normal operation Not only the IP address and subnet mask must be registered, but also the gateway and DNS. What it is and how it is determined, we will NOT touch here either, because Such information abounds on the Internet, the main thing is to understand that the registrar. This is the same computer as a regular PC or laptop in terms of network setup.
It is enough to get automatic settings from the router (server) by ticking the “DHCP” box, but for this, the DHCP server must be set up in the local network (most often it is turned on either on the Internet access router or on the corporate channel server).
Next comes the cloud settings. Now it is more often called Hik p2p Cloud, not EZVIZ.
Here you can leave the default settings, only enable if you plan to view cameras from the DVR from mobile devices.
Connection ports. In this section, the ports for network access and settings for access via DDNS are registered. We recommend leaving all settings unchanged.
Next is the turn of the hard drive, in this window it can be seen, identified and formatted.
Initially, hard drives are delivered NOT formatted. In the case of installing a hard drive, which has already been used, it is still recommended to format it. To do this, press the “initialize” button.
After that, there may be other windows or series of windows for setting depending on the model of the recorder, for example, the series “Enable RAID, Manage arrays Manage hard disks” (but then instead of the previous one)
Or the series “Search and connect IP cameras from the online list, Camera recording settings, Copy recording settings”. To learn how to do this, see the article “How to Add Camera to NVR“.
The next setting window. The recording mode will appear only if a series of IP cameras from the online list has not been provided. In this window, you can enable recording for all channels by motion or continuous. Most often, users choose motion recording to save hard disk space. In the basic settings, the archive includes a segment of video that starts 5 seconds before the start of the movement in the frame and ends 5 seconds after it ends.
This completes the initial setup of the registrar, and the assistant will be closed. The image will change to a quad screen, which may not have displayed cameras if it is NOT a DVR.
Let’s go back to the sound signals of our DVR, right-click
Go to “main menu” → “system config.” → “warnings” and see their options (causes of sound signals). Lack of HDD, etc., There are three types of alarm notifications in total: sound, SMS, email. Uncheck / uncheck the “sound signals” and click “apply”. Set up other notifications in the same way.
Main menu
Warnings
If our NVR recorder or we want to connect a number of supported IP cameras to the DVR, then we need to register these cameras manually in it. How to do this, see the article “How to Add Camera to NVR“
After completing the connection of cameras, click on the “Live View” button in the lower left corner of the screen and go to display.
In the display mode, in the upper right corner of each playback channel, a series of icons are displayed, showing the channel status, displays the time period when the channel is being recorded, or when alarm events occur in the channel.
And here we are viewing the video cameras. We can expand / collapse to the whole monitor by double clicking on the image.
A significant number of functions are available in display mode in the device:
Single Screen: Display one screen on the monitor.
Multi-screen: Display multiple screens simultaneously on the monitor.
Auto-switch: the mode of sequential switching of channels in sequence, the switching time between channels is user-defined. Setting this mode:
Menuconfigurationlive ViewDwell Time.
Start Recording: Continuous recording and alarm recording.
Output Mode: select the type of output display.
Add IP Camera: enter the menu for adding IP cameras.
Playback: Play the recorded video of the current day.
Aux / Main output switch: NVR detects the connection of devices to their outputs, defining priorities. The priority level for this type of device is HDMIVGACVBS. This means if HDMI is used, then it will be the main outputs. If HDMI is not used, then VGA will be the main.
When displayed for quick setting or control, for each camera there is a quick setting menu, which is displayed by single-clicking the left mouse button on the window of the selected camera.
Description of quick settings menu icons
We go to the camera settings. OSD (name display, date / time format, etc.), we can configure image options, motion detection, we can enable the option of video curtain (activation of tamper detection), video loss (including loss alarms), as well as in camera control we configure the sensor movement, select areas (areas) to which the camera needs to react / NOT react.
To set up a recording schedule, go to the recording configuration, everything is very simple there. The table of the recording schedule per week and the boxes in which we mark the recording hours, continuous shooting or motion recording in the frame with the corresponding color.
It was not difficult. Now you know how to set up the DVR.
How to set up video recording on a computer without a registrar or how to set up storage server
Let’s say you need a camera for “home use” or 1-2 cameras for the office. I want to write down, but there is no extra money for the registrar. Or you just decided to make backup logger records. What to do in such a situation?
You can write everything to a memory card, but there is not too much space. Or you can use a computer. This is what will be discussed.
I warn you in advance that recording will require the constant inclusion of the computer and the programs below.
The first thing you need. IVMS4200 program and not only the client side, and another tool called Storage Server.
To do this, check the box when installing the program. It will take up a little space and bring tangible benefits.
IVMS 4200 installation window
After installation, launch the programs from both shortcuts (IVMS-4200 Client and IVMS-4200 Storage Server). Programs can be run on different computers on the local network. For convenience, we will consider the option to run on the same.
In the IVMS4200 program go to the Device Management and in the left column click the “Add New Device Type”.
IVMS4200 Device Manager
After that, in the window that appears, select “Storage Server”.
The window for selecting the added type of devices
Go to the Storage Server tab (hereinafter referred to as SS). Pay attention to the detected “devices” below. In reality, the program simply monitors the Running SS programs on your local network. We have two of them.
Add the device you need (you most likely have one). Default login. Admin, default password. 12345.
You can change the password, as well as a number of other settings, by clicking on the SS icon in the tray.
Storage Server Tray Menu
Example of adding to the Storage Server program
After adding SS to the program, it can be configured in much the same way as a regular recorder. Mandatory item in the initial setup. Storage tab. General. Here check the box and formats the disk or disk partition given to SS for work.
The program can only write to a logical partition or to an entire disk. You cannot write to the folder. SS formats space for itself and creates containers for recording.
SS settings window
For clarity, consider setting up a recording from a camera, or an attempt to duplicate recording from a recorder.
Recorder and camera added to the program
Return to the main menu and select “Storage Shedule”.
Main window, selection of an item with a recording schedule
At this point, the recorder is recognized as a camera group, not a recorder.
Recording schedule. Registrar window
The internal configuration is no different, with each logger channel, if necessary, can work separately.
Recording schedule. Camera window
The buttons for editing the recording schedule and additional options open windows standard for IVMS-4200. By default, the round-the-clock triggering of recording by events (alarm / movement / line crossing, etc.) and 10 seconds backup (recording 5 seconds before the event and 5 after) is set. Everything is recorded in the main stream at maximum quality.
Windows for setting the schedule and basic recording options
In the lower half of the window, select the required SS from the drop-down list.
Dropdown selection list SS
If necessary, clicked on the SS Management button, you will find yourself in the SS management window.
Options window after the SS Management button
Check the boxes you want (recording schedule, saving pictures). SS recording schedule can be set separately if necessary.
SS and camera interaction settings
In the upper right corner, click on the Save button.
Save button location
Setting up recording to a computer is complete.
6.3.6.1.1. Configuring Camera Network Settings
Good day everyone.
The SADP program is used to detect connected Hikvision devices on the local network and manage their network settings (this applies to all Hikvision network devices, video cameras and DVRs). The program is free and can be found on the manufacturer’s website at http: / / www.Hikvision.ru/ download. Feel free to download and run the installation. In the process, he will offer to install the accompanying software, you can safely agree. nasty things are NOT expected, no change of browsers and installation of any “bars” will be. After installation, the program is immediately ready for use.
You connect your IP camera with a patch cord to a free socket on the router of your home LAN, to which the computer is turned on. Another variant. 2 network entrances to the computer. one to the local network, the second is connected to the camera. Third option. the computer communicates with the network via Wi-Fi, and you connect the camera to a free wired network jack. We launch the installed SADP Tools program (the icon is present on the desktop, or through the “Start” menu) and we get the following plate:
Here, number 001 is the ancient DS-2CD862MF camera, which has long been discontinued, but is quite functional. I use it for pre-sale video server settings. while the men are hanging cameras at the facility, I warm up with this one. In this case, her settings are reset to factory settings:
IP addresses 192.0.0.64
Mask 255.255.255.0
Login admin
Password 12345
All this is in the description and a piece of paper is glued on the camera box.
Update as of 05/13/2017 Due to the increased requirements for network security, Hikvision cameras and DVRs require activation at the first start. It consists in setting a more complex password. They DO NOT agree to simple combinations like 12345. over, old versions of SADP do not know about this innovation, so it is better to install the latest version of SADP (on the website it is the latest, if downloaded earlier, it is better to update). Otherwise, you will have to find out the current address of the camera through SADP (by default, cameras are with DHCP enabled), then go into the camera (video recorder) through Internet Explorer and set a new password for it (it will require this at the entrance). In the latest versions of SADP, you can do it right in the program.
Our task. make it so that the computer can see this camera without the SADP program. First, change the address of the camera: experience shows that to leave it at the factory. This is then unnecessary trouble. Although SADP allows you to work with several devices with the same address, other programs will work with cameras later. In short, we change, and that’s all. Let the camera addresses be, say 192.0.0.30.
Selecting the line with the camera with the mouse, the parameters that we can change will be highlighted on the right side of the table. We change the “IPshnik” there to the desired one, below in the Password window, type 12345 and press the Save button. The left side of the address table changes miraculously:
Next, go to the computer’s network settings: Start \ Control Panel \ Network and Sharing Center \ Change adapter settings. Right-click on “Local Area Connection”, in the menu that opens, select “properties”. In the window that opens, select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)”. The following window opens:
Click the “Advanced” button, in the “IP-address” window, click “Add”:
We drive in a new address included in the address zone of our camera. For a long time NOT to explain: “192.0.0.” we leave, the last digits we put any in the range from 1 to 255, excluding the camera address. Let it be 192.0.0.35, leave the mask. Click “Add” again:
The additional address appears in the IP Address window. Then close all windows by clicking “OK”. You can also exit the SADP program. Now our computer has 2 network addresses: one. the main one for working in a local network. Another one that we introduced. to communicate with the camera. Since such an address is only in the computer, the camera will be invisible for the second devices on the network.
You can check the visibility of the camera. Start \ All Programs \ Accessories \ Command Prompt. We type in the black window ping 192.0.0.30, press Enter. If the computer sees the camera, the result will be as follows:
THOSE. The computer sent a request to the specified address 4 times and received a response the same number of times. Hence the name of the command: “ping”. from the name of table tennis “ping-pong”. If you did something wrong, a message will appear indicating that the waiting interval has been exceeded or that the specified node is not available. Check the address of the camera and computer, you already know how to do this. If this does not help, Loosen your firewall settings, it may block communication with the new device. In any case, you need to get used to the idea that working with IP cameras requires minimal computer literacy.
If you have connected several cameras with factory addresses at once, the SADP program will allow you to give them all individual addresses. In our case, we need to place them in the address space 192.0.0.Xxx, where “xxx”. digits from 1 to 255. The same addresses do not have to be in order to avoid network conflicts.
Another option for configuring network parameters (and not only) of the camera. using the web interface. About this next time.
Here I have described in more or less detail the option for a local network with static addresses, i.e. When the address of devices on the network is set “hand-to-hand”, ie. With your own hands. For networks with a raised DHCP service, when the address is distributed automatically, a slightly different approach is needed. on this later.
In general, who did not understand something, ask questions. in “kamenty”.
Who cares. the subscription form is below, you will receive everything by mail.

Software for working with Hikvision devices from a desktop computer. Purpose and general requirements
Working with Hikvision equipment requires configuration and management. But not all devices have a web interface, firmware or other controls. For all Hikvision devices with LAN or PC connectivity, including:
- CCTV IP Cameras,
- Recorders (DVR, HVR, NVR),
- IP intercoms and outdoor panels,
- ACS controllers and terminals,
- Video Wall Controllers & Decoders,
- Traffic and parking control and monitoring devices,

Installation and initial configuration
Standard installation of iVMS-4200, as shown in the figures:
The installer windows for HiLook Vision look similar. However, so far its package does not include Storage Server, which performs the functions of a simplified video recorder with recording to a computer, and Stream Media Server, which provides multiple connections to the video stream. In most cases, they are still NOT placed by clients and we will NOT consider them here. Now we are only interested in Client, that is, the actual device management program.
After that, we find on the desktop a shortcut of the newly installed program and run it.
Next, we will consider the initial setup, I will illustrate in parallel with screenshots of both programs.
First, you will be prompted to set a password to enter the program. If you are the only user on this computer, then you can then check the “Enable automatic authorization” checkbox. In this case, further logon will occur automatically without asking for a password each time the program is started. If you want access to the remote viewing program to be protected, then the bird will not.
Just do not forget to write it down, this is your password, you will have to reinstall the program again.
After starting iVMS-4200, in the opened Control Panel module, find the Selecting Modules icon and click.
In the window that opens, mark all the functional modules that we need, however, we can select the necessary modules and hide the unnecessary ones at any time.
The composition and number of modules in this window depends on the version and assembly of the iVMS-4200 you downloaded.
For some versions of iVMS-4200 you can install the Russian interface language:
After Corresponding Client has started. go to the Control Panel and click Device Management.
In the window that opens, click Add and enter: Nickname. any name Address. the permanent IP address of the device in your local network or the real Internet address that the provider gave you (for money, of course), if the device is in the public part of the Internet (WAN) Port. leave 8000 User Name. admin Password. your password for the camera or recorder, which is entered during the initial activation of the device.
IP / Domain: Add a device by its IP address or domain name. Port required (8000 by default). IP Segments: Add devices from one IP segment. Port number, username and password must be the same for all devices. IP server: IP server address and device ID (serial number and device name) Hik-connect: add account added via hik-connect (P2P Cloud) Group add: export csv file and fill in device information, then import file to add devices.
After that, go back to the control panel and click the Main View
We click on the keys shown by the arrows (first to the lower, then to the upper) and if everything is done correctly, the camera starts to show in real time.
1) Controlling the arrangement of windows. Save and recall view. 2) All groups added to iVMS client. 3) PTZ control panel. 4) Split standard window / full screen mode. 5) Selected camera menu

Note at the end that the capabilities of the iVMS-4200 program are much broader than just remote viewing of CCTV cameras. For a detailed description of setting up and using, see the “iVMS-4200 User Manual” or the Help of the HiLook Vision program.
I will only note that it also allows you to configure various parameters of IP cameras and recorders (if you know the password for the entrance of THESE devices), and also works with the security and outdoor panels.
I also want to add that in addition to iVMS-4200 and HiLook Vision, a half dozen different utilities are provided on the PC, which make it possible to calculate the volumes and speeds of the surveillance system and many other possibilities. Most of the most useful are described in the article “Hikvision Utilities”.
As you can see, everything is not complicated at all. The main thing. do not forget the passwords from the program and the entrance to the recorder (cameras) and everything will be fine with you.
