Activating new Hikvision devices
All new Hikvision devices that have LAN connectivity, including:
- CCTV IP Cameras,
- Recorders (DVR, HVR, NVR),
- IP intercoms and outdoor panels,
- ACS controllers and terminals,
- Video Wall Controllers & Decoders,
- Traffic and parking control and monitoring devices,
- New security centers,
- Other hardware developments Hikvision
Requires user activation by entering a password before deployment.
Activation can be performed in various ways depending on the purpose of the device. This can be done using a web browser when logging in for the first time, from iVMS software, using SADP software, or using a recorder. The methods common to all devices are activation using the SADP program or iVMS-4200 / HiLook Vision. The most convenient way to activate via SADP.
SADP application. Tool for configuring IP devices from HIKVISION. SADP (Search Active Device Protocol). This is a free and easy-to-use software designed to search the local network for cameras, DVRs and other devices of the Hikvision brand. With its help, you can change the basic network parameters of IP devices, and also change or recover the password in case of loss. Most often it turns out that when new devices from the same manufacturer are connected to the network, their IP address is repeated. SADP allows you to change device parameter settings, whether they are on the same subnet or different. The software is available on Windows 7-10, Windows 2003-2008, Windows XP. 32/64-bit.
1.1. Program installation.
You can download the SADP program HERE. The program must be downloaded to your hard drive and then installed on your computer. For SADP to work properly, it is advisable to install WinPcap / Win10Pcap, which is usually done automatically after installing SADP. Winpcap. It is a popular tool that runs on Microsoft Windows (Win10Pcap. For Microsoft Windows 10) that allows applications to capture and transmit network packets bypassing the protocol stack. Has additional features such as kernel-level packet filtering, network statistics engine, and remote packet capture support.
Winpcap consists of a driver that extends the operating system to provide support for low-level network access, and a library that is directly used for low-level access. This library also contains the Windows version of the well-known libpcap, an API for Unix OS.
Thanks to its feature set, WinPcap is the packet capture and filtering engine on which many commercial as well as free network tools are based, including protocol analyzers, network monitors, intrusion detection systems, traffic generators, and network testing utilities. The tool contains all the necessary documentation as well as various manuals.
1.2. Search for active devices.
After starting the program, SADP automatically scans the local network in search of newly connected Hikvision devices, which are then displayed in the main window of the program. The list of recently connected devices is updated every 15 seconds, and the list of disconnected devices is updated every 45 seconds. You can also manually refresh the list using the “Refresh” button to immediately update information about devices on the network. The main window of the program displays basic information about the network parameters, such as: device type, IP address, ports, mask, MAC addresses, etc. Additional information is also available, such as the firmware version, name and serial number of the device and information about device activation. All this information on the selected device can be saved after clicking the “Export” button in a file with the extension.Xls.
SADP window view
Using the program is very simple, you can go to the login window. When you double-click the IP addresses of the selected device, it is automatically redirected to its login page via a web browser.

1.3. Device Activation Using SADP
When the DVR (with firmware version higher than V3.3.0) or camera (with firmware version higher than V5.3.0) is connected to the network for the first time, the device is detected by SADP program as inactive (Inactive). This is due to additional security that Hikvision has introduced to prevent unauthorized access.
The situation is similar with intercom and access control devices connected to a local network or a computer with SADP.
To activate the device via the SADP Tool software, you must connect power to the device and be in the same local network with the device.
To activate the device, you need to set a new password for the “admin” user. To activate the device using the SADP program, you must:
- Select a device (it is necessary to check the required checkbox) in SADP (you can also select several devices to activate simultaneously and give them the same password),
- Enter a new password for the device and confirm with the “Activate” button.
The program automatically checks and displays the strength of the entered password. The password must contain from 8 to 16 characters, among which there must be at least two types of the following characters: numbers, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, special characters.
1.4. Change device network settings.
To change the network parameters of one device, you must:
Select from the list a device whose parameters in the network will be changed (the list of network parameters available for changing is displayed in the right part of the program). If DHCP function is enabled, only some parameters can be changed, such as SDK Port (default 8000) and HTTP Port (default 80). The rest of the network parameters (for example, IP address, mask, gateway) are assigned automatically via a DHCP server. If IPv6 addressing is used, it must be supported by the device. Just as in the case of the DHCP function, which must be supported by both the device and the router on the network to which they are connected.
- If DHCP does not work, it is possible to manually change all available network parameters (for example, IP address, mask, gateway, etc.),
- For all settings to be saved, you must enter the Admin user password to access the Hikvision device and confirm it with the Modify button.
SADP window view area for configuring network parameters for the selected device, with the DHCP function disabled
It is also possible to change the network parameters of several devices at the same time. This requires:
- Select multiple devices with mouse to set serial parameters. Which will be available for editing on the right side of the settings window. It is necessary to enter the starting IP addresses (for example, if three devices are selected and the starting address is 192.168.10.64, the devices will be sequentially given the address 192.168.10.65, 192.168.10.66)
You can also select the “Enable DHCP” function to automatically assign network parameters such as IP address, mask, gateway, etc. to the selected devices. In this case, you can only change the port.
Network settings when you select Enable DHCP single and multiple devices respectively
- To save all settings, you must enter the access password for the devices and confirm it with the “Modify” button.
A) If SADP DOES NOT display Hikvison devices on the local network
First, try disabling all antiviruses and firewalls, if this does not help, then one of the reasons may be an error in the operation of the Winpcap network scanner. Try reinstalling the scanner itself, downloaded the latest version from the link specified in 1.1. After that, restart your computer and try to open SADP again.
B) If SADP does NOT display only some devices or a single device
The problem may be related to incorrect loading of the device itself or damage to its firmware. In this case, check the integrity of the cable, does the camera react to the closing of the light sensor to turn on the IR illumination? If the camera reacts, but the camera is still not visible in SADP, try flashing the camera with the introduction of the TFTP server (performed in the service center).
IVMS-4200 or HiLook Vision software
Ivms-4200 is a versatile software for managing digital video recorder (DVR), network video recorder (NVR), IP cameras, encoders, decoders, VCA devices, security panels, video intercom devices, etc. It provides many functionalities, including live view, video recording, remote search and playback, file backup, receive alarms, etc., for connected devices to meet monitoring needs. It is also recommended that you update your password regularly. Changing your password monthly or weekly will make the use of the product secure.
You can change the network parameters of the device by clicking the “Modify netinfo” button / “Change network parameters”.
You must enter the device administrator password in the Password field in the pop-up window to change the settings.
Hikvision device web interface
Most IP video surveillance devices and video walls have a web interface for its configuration. To date, it is not in ACS devices and it is just starting to appear in intercoms.
3.1. Activating Devices Using the Internet Explorer Web Browser
Devices such as cameras (from V5.3.0) and like NVRs and DVRs (from V3.3.0) can be activated via the Internet Explorer (IE) web browser.
To turn on the device for the first time, it must be connected to the local network. There is no concept of “standard IP addresses” for Hikvision devices. The primary network parameters of the device depend on the firmware version. Often this address can be 184.108.40.206 or 192.168.1.64. To activate a network device, a PC with a browser must be on the same subnet with it.
After connecting the device to the network, enter its IP addresses in the address bar in the Web browser.
When you start the web interface for the first time, before entering the device, the start page will ask you to set a password for the device administrator. Users Must set a password for the Admin user, confirm it and click [OK] to continue.
After that, you can fully use the device.
Integrated Hikvision device interface
Devices to which a monitor and input peripherals (mouse, keyboard) can be connected have a built-in control interface. Such devices, in particular, include all Hikvision recorders (DVR, HVR, NVR).
4.1. Device activation Using the built-in management interface
When turned on, the firmware, first of all, starts the device (recorder) setup wizard, if it is not manually disabled. If the recorder is NOT activated at the time of launch, then the first (and mandatory) step of the setup will be to create a password for the device administrator.
Users Must set a password for the Admin user, confirm it and click [OK] to continue.
After that, you can fully use the device.
4.2. Activation of IP cameras connected to the recorder
Using the DVR’s firmware and its console (monitor and mouse), you can activate the Hikvision network camera by “broadcasting” the password.
- Connect the DVR and cameras to the same local network;
- Activate the DVR;
- Go to the Registrar in the Camera Main menu;
- Select the required camera in the list of found devices;
Press the button “One-touch activation”
And enter the password in the same way as when activating the registrar itself or use the administrator password installed on the registrar.

How to reset Hikvision settings.
Hikvision’s products are becoming more and more popular among Ukrainians, which is associated with high efficiency while ensuring security at the facility. High popularity contributes to the fact that more and more people are asked how to reset Hikvision in order to return to the factory settings or change the password.
As practice shows, it is rather difficult to explain everything by phone, and we are ready to PROVIDE professional assistance only in Kiev and Dnipro. In this article, we will walk you through how to reset Hikvision settings and reset your password. Following the instructions, you will be able to independently restore the operation of the equipment without any problems, carry out a Hikvision factory reset if you forgot your password or made a mistake during the settings.
If you need to reset the Hikvision recorder or video camera, the best solution would be to contact the service center so that all the work is carried out by specialized specialists. This guarantees high efficiency and eliminates any consequences in the form of a complete failure of the surveillance system. It is much easier when all the work is done by a professional at the initial stage than when solving auto goods situations after independently trying to reset to the factory settings of Hikvision. This article is intended for those who do not have the physical ability to call a specialist or just for informational purposes.
The administration is NOT responsible for any resulting consequences that may arise during independent attempts to reset. If you started to carry out independent manipulations to restore the factory settings, it is strongly discouraged to experiment, but follow these instructions exactly. Otherwise, you can lose the firmware of the equipment and then there is a high probability of complete breakdown of the device. If you are perfectly familiar with the Linux operating system, there is no need to experiment and “pick the brains” of the device. It is difficult to count the cases of complete equipment breakdown.
What do we need?
If you decide to reset the Hikvision password yourself or return to the factory settings, you need to immediately prepare everything that we need during work:
- Directly equipment (recorder, video cameras) Hikvision, where you need to reset the settings;
- Personal computer or laptop with Windows operating system installed;
- Software designed to identify equipment and configure Hikvision, which allows bundled.
When everything is ready, you can start working directly on restoring the operating system.
Algorithm of actions for resetting settings
You will first need to find out the IP address of the device. If everything is clear, then this step can be skipped. If not, then:
- Install IP Finder;
- Start the SADP program;
- Press Enter in the window;
- An IP device with a personal network number will appear in the window.
Connect to CCTV camera
- You must go to “Start”. “Run”;
- Write the cmd command and press Enter;
- In the window you need to register TELNET and press Enter;
- Click on “O” on the English layout and Enter;
- Enter the network address of the IP device and press Enter;
- Enter Login root and press the Enter button;
- Enter the hiklinux password and press Enter. When you enter it is not displayed and the space is also a symbol so be careful;
- You need to go to the davinchi directory, so type cd davinchi and press Enter;
- VIEW the resulting list of files using the ls command and press Enter. you need to find the devCfg.Bin file, then go to the next paragraph;
- Begin factory reset by typing rm devCfg.Bin and hitting Enter;
- Reboot the device by entering the reboot command and press Enter;
- This completes the procedure, you just need to close the command timeline and the device will work in factory settings with a standard network address. 220.127.116.11, login. admin and password. 12345.
If you did everything correctly, then the Hikvision camera was reset to factory settings. You can now re-configure your site security.
Probably, everyone thought about why all these passwords are needed. The answer is very simple. using a password, you are protecting the network, and an attacker will NOT be able to take over the equipment. This is what contributes to the fact that it is desirable to set rather complex passwords, which are not easy to crack. For example, the manufacturer Hikvision requires its users to set passwords for at least 8 characters, with numbers, small and large Latin letters. It is because of the setting of a simple password that the video surveillance system is hacked. If you have set a complex password, then you definitely need to write it down so that you do not have to look for ways to reset your Hikvision password.
The need to reset the password may arise in a situation when the user has forgotten the old password, some kind of software failure has occurred and the system does not want to accept the password (this is extremely rare), or you bought used equipment, and the seller did not provide the password and you cannot activate CCTV cameras. Regardless of the reason, you will need to carry out the same reset procedures. If you bought equipment with a “RESET” button, then the procedure Takes exactly 30 seconds, and in other cases you need to use additional software or contact the camera manufacturer, who will reset.
Manual password recovery
It is manual password recovery that is as simple as possible for the user and can be carried out independently without outside help and software. It should be borne in mind that this method is suitable exclusively for those devices from Hikvision, which have a special button for resetting the password, you need to:
- Find the Reset button behind the camera, which is sometimes difficult to see right away;
- With the power off, you need to hold down the button for 15-30 seconds using a screwdriver or a second device. You cannot even release the button for a second, Connect the power and hold for another 15 seconds, after which you can already release the button;
- If you did everything correctly, then the password in your camera will be reset and the camera will be inactive again.
As you can see, this method is as simple as possible for password recovery, and you can carry out new equipment settings to create an effective video surveillance system. This button is present in the following models of CCTV cameras:
Password recovery using programs
If you have a model in which the RESET button is not provided in the interface, then you will be able to restore only with the help of programs. Let’s consider the recovery option with you, Using the same software as for the factory reset. SADP. Strictly adhere to the following instructions:
We get the xml file, which is needed to reset the password:
- Run the installed SADP program;
- In the list of devices, find the one you want to restore and tick the box;
- In the lower right corner you need to find the “Forgot Password” button;
- After that, click on the “Export” button and save the file in xml format;
- Program and device Must be active.
It is necessary to send the form to our mail, indicated the following data:
- Surname, name, patronymic;
- Equipment name;
- Serial number of the equipment;
- Phone number for feedback;
- Indicate the essence of the problem. Hikvision camera password reset;
- Attach the resulting xml file.
Just a few days we will send you the xml file, which you will need to save, which is software for resetting.
Resetting the password directly:
- Select the “Import File” tab, click on the folder icon;
- You must select the saved file that you received from us,
- Enter a new password and confirm it. click on the “Confim” button.
This recovery method is suitable for absolutely all CCTV cameras, which do not have a built-in reset function using the RESET button.
There are situations when following the instructions, users cannot reset their password. This occurs for several reasons:
Get key error
It occurs when exporting a file key. This usually occurs if the computer and device are connected through multiple switches, connected through a router, or while the SADP program was open, the network address of the equipment was changed. Sometimes an error occurs if the hardware firmware has been changed.
You need to make sure that the equipment supports multi-cast function. If there is an error when connecting through the router, then disable the NAT function. If the device is directly connected and the network address has been changed, just restart the program.
Reset password failed error
This error occurs if you try to use an old key or a previously used one. It is possible that you have created a new file key for sending, so the old reset file is not suitable or there is a problem with the sent file. Either the computer address was changed while the program was open.
To solve the problems, you need to make sure that you are using the current key file designed to unlock the camera. Make sure that you have not rebooted the device AND created a new key for sending, or invite a new key file to technical support. Try simply restarting the program to reset.
As you can see, it is possible to recover the settings and the password if you follow some recommendations. If you have any difficulties or questions, just Contact the specialists of Control.Ua, who are always ready to advise on any questions of interest.

Resolving problems with sound playback in Windows, including “audio service not started” errors
Problems with audio playback on a PC can be caused by several reasons. Let’s take a look at the main ones. The very first level to check. BIOS. If your sound card is based on the popular Realtek ac97 codec and is built into your motherboard, you should check if it is enabled. Section bios where to find the settings of the sound card, called napodobii Internal Perpherial. After enabling this function, you will need to load the system and install the drivers either from the installation disc of the motherboard, or downloaded in advance from the official website of the motherboard manufacturer, but the latest version is usually located on the official AC97 website. If after all THESE manipulations the sound does not work, then perhaps there is a hardware conflict in the system. Find out if the system has devices installed that can “sit” on the same address spaces and interrupts. Although for modern Windows systems, this is a rare case. Most likely, the codec chip is simply damaged. Then the way out is to install an external sound card in the PCI slot. Previously, the faulty one must be disabled, again, through the BIOS.
There is also another level of problems associated with incorrect operation of the operating system. One possible reason is that the audio service is not running. Go to the “Control Panel”, the “Administrative Tools” icon. Select “Services.” If the Windows Audio service does not work, try to start it. If everything worked out, then congratulations. You can enjoy your favorite tunes. You have overcome the problem “the audio service is not running” But it happens that the computer gives errors. They can be very different. There are two universal ways to eliminate them. Let us tell you a secret. It does not matter what error. The solution will be effective even if the audio service is not running in the new version of Windows. Windows 7. Not an exception The first method is designed for the user who is not “accustomed” to anything except the graphical interface. Just go to the “Standard” menu and select “System Restore”. Then we select the item “Restore an earlier state of the system”. A calendar is displayed with the days of the month in bold when the system restore point was made. Now you just need to remember the date when everything was still in order. We choose, wait a few minutes and you’re done. But another scenario is also possible. You have come to the menu “System Restore”, but any recovery just missing points. This may be due to the fact that someone has turned off the system restore service, and then turn it on.
Then the task of sound restoration becomes a little more difficult. You will need to arm yourself with the Windows distribution and load the recovery console (reach the stage when the system prompts you to press the R key to boot the recovery console). Then, just in case, you will need to copy the SYSTEM file from C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32 \ CONFIG to the C: \ drive with the C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32 \ CONFIG \ SYSTEM C: \ command, and then replace our current SYSTEM with the version that was immediately after installing the system. It should be noted that during this operation, we have to show a system where all the driver from the devices. An alternative to this operation can be to search for those system restore points, which may have been saved in the System Volume Information folder on drive C. But let’s return to our operation to put the Wndows services in order. Copy the clean registry hive copy C: \ WINDOWS \ REPAIR \ SYSTEM C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32 \ CONFIG \ and agree to a replacement, because we have an archive copy of the old SYSTEM. Trying to boot the system with a new file. Most likely, the problem “the audio service is not running” will disappear into oblivion, since all dependencies are met this time.
If the audio service is not running after all the measures, then you should restore the old file and try to use the command to check the Windows system files for integrity. To do this, open the console (Start button Run cmd) and type the sfc / scannow command. Do not forget to put the distribution kit of the installed version into the drive beforehand. Comparison will be made versions of the files and, if found to be incorrect, made to replace them. The difference between the two methods given is in their versatility, the problem with the lack of sound can be solved in another way, but the given methods. This is a 90% guarantee. There is also a “cosmetic” problem when, with the Realtek HD codecs installed, the system reports that the audio service is not running, there is sound, oddly enough. This is because the sound card driver is loaded before the Windows service and “thinks” that Windows Audio will NOT start.
Guide to Connect Tantos IP Cameras to Hikvision NVR
1 Guide for connecting Tantos IP cameras to Hikvision NVR 2017 Version 1.0
2 Contents 1. FOR WHAT IT IS NECESSARY THIS MANUAL RESPONSIBILITY LIMITATIONS CONFIGURING IP MOTION CAMERA IN THE IP RECORDER. 7
3 1. Why this Manual is needed Attention! Be sure to read this Manual before implementing the equipment. Any items in this manual as well as sections of the equipment control menu can be changed without notice. Remember that incorrect connection of IP cameras can damage them! 2. Limitation of Liability Supplier does NOT guarantee that the hardware will function properly in all environments and applications, and does not make any warranties or warranties, implied or expressed, about quality, performance, or performance when used for a specific purpose. We have made every effort to make this “Manual” as accurate and complete as possible, however, the Supplier disclaims responsibility for any typing errors or omissions that may have occurred. 4 3. Setting up IP cameras. Before connecting the IP cameras to the NVR, it is necessary to preset all the IP cameras with different non-repeating IP addresses that are in the same subnet as the IP addresses of the DVR and NOT the same as the IP addresses of the second network devices. For example, if the IP address registrar is installed. Then the cameras must have an IP address or To connect to cameras via the web interface and change the IP addresses, use either the special Tantos Device Manager software or when connecting via Internet Explorer in accordance with the Tantos IP Cameras Instruction Manual. In addition, you need to set an administrator password or create a user with administrator rights with a non-empty password. Attention! To connect to the DVR Hikvision camera must always ask your password, connect the camera with a blank password can not be!
5 In the web interface of the camera, go to the Advanced Users menu, select the administrator account (admin) from the list of accounts, select Change password and set the administrator password. To create a new user, click Add User, and then enter the user name, password and confirm password. In the DVR, go to the camera settings menu.
6 Click the Add button to add the camera to the selected channel. Then click the Edit button and enter the camera administrator password.
7 If the connection is successful, a blue arrow will appear in the Status section.
8 4. Motion detection in the IP recorder. In all IP video recorders, unlike recorders for analog video cameras, motion detection is performed not in the recorder, but directly in the IP camera. The registrar only receives information from the camera about the event of motion detection and displays it on the monitor, as well as responds to this event. All cameras, in spite of the standard ONVIF support, work differently with alarm events. The recorder must “understand” the alarm events of the camera, but due to the fact that in the ONVIF standard the work with alarm events is not fully defined, in real conditions the degree of “understanding” of the IP cameras by the recorder depends on the camera model and the setting for working with alarm events, including including and with motion detectors, depends on the camera model. To operate the camera in conjunction with the recorder on the camera itself, you need to enable motion detection and set a schedule for the detector.
9 In the web interface of the camera, go to the Alarm Motion menu, set the Enable parameter in the Schedule menu, set the schedule for the camera’s motion detector (by default, the motion detector works all the time). Here you can also set the sensitivity of the motion detector in the Accuracy item and the area of operation of the motion detector in the Area menu. The settings of the detection zone and the detector sensitivity can be made through the recorder menu.
10 To configure motion detection in the DVR, go to the Motion menu. The screen will display the motion detection area set in the camera. Using the mouse, you can set the desired detection zone on the recorder, while pressing the Apply button transfers the set detection zone to the camera.
11 Attention! If the camera is already connected to the recorder and you are setting the detection zone through the camera’s web interface, then in order for the recorder to re-read and correctly display the newly installed detection zone, you must either reboot the recorder or disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet network cable of the recorder. Note. It is not recommended to set the detection area on the whole image, since. This decreases the accuracy of the motion detector and increases the number of false ones. Positives. Attention! You should not try to replace the security system with motion detection. Motion detection is just an analysis of the camera’s image change, the image change can be caused by any background snow in the city ?, shadow, wind, interference, etc. The number of false alarms of the motion detector is very large and incomparable with the number of false alarms of security alarms. To enable motion recording in the Record configuration menu, enable the motion recording schedule.
Reset password on Hikvision devices. How to reset passwords
Hikvision provides 5 ways to reset the password, the use of which mainly depends on the novelty of the equipment and firmware installed on it:
- Reset via Authorized Support by Code and SADP Tool (Deprecated)
- Reset via Authorized Support Service by XML File and SADP Tool
- Self-service password reset by file GUID
- Self-service password reset by answering the “secret” question
- Self-resetting the password with the RESET button
Legacy Method 0 is only possible on older hardware released in 2016 that did NOT have firmware updates. Since it is in many ways similar to method 1, which changed it in the future, we will consider it as an addition to image 1, calling both methods “Password reset through an authorized support service”.
But we will start in the reverse order, since in this case we will practically get an order according to the degree of complication of user actions.
Self-resetting the password with the RESET button
Unfortunately, this method is NOT applicable to most equipment due to the lack of such a button. Most common reset buttons Available on IP cameras, but not on all.
If the camera has a reset button, you must:
- Turn off camera power (12V or POE)
- Press and hold the RESET button;
- Power on the camera, do not release the button;
- Release the button after 20 seconds.
The reset has been made. camera Inactive. that is, reset to factory settings.
The camera will have to be reactivated (see the article “Activating new Hikvision devices”) and set up, however, the records on the SD card, if used before, will be saved.
But not all cameras like the 24 I and 20 I series have reset buttons on the outside. Many cameras have them under a protective cover or dome, which requires unscrewing a part of the case with a screwdriver before using the simplified reset procedure.
Self-service password reset by file GUID
New firmwares are equipped with additional functionality, which can help to quickly reset the password, but it will only work if you take care of the need to reset the password during device setup, when you still remember the password.
To prepare for this method, you need to go to the Web interface or remote configuration in iVMS-4200 or BatchConfigTool and in the user management section
Click on the button “Export GUID file”.
By exporting the GUID file to your computer and saving it somewhere in a good place, you will be able to recover the password yourself by simply importing it to your device.
Clicked on “Forgot Password” in the corresponding interface of the device, you will be offered a reset form:
If you accidentally select a file from a second device, it simply won’t be accepted. Resetting the password does not affect the archive and device settings.
Self-service password reset by answering the “secret” question
Similarly to the previous method, in this it was necessary to provide in advance the answers to security questions. To prepare for this method, you need to go to the Web interface or remote configuration in iVMS-4200 or BatchConfigTool and in the user management section.
Click on the button “Security question”.
Asked when setting up security questions, you will be able to reset your password.
Clicked on “Forgot Password” in the corresponding interface of the device, you will be offered a reset form:
In it, you need to select the Appropriate verification method. Resetting the password does not affect the archive and device settings.
Password reset via authorized support
The average processing time for password reset requests in the authorized support service is from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, on weekdays during business hours. Device passwords are reset only when you provide a photo sticker (nameplate) of the device.
Passwords WILL NOT be reset without a photo attached to the application. To perform a reset, you must fill out a password reset application containing the following data:
With attached files: photo of the nameplate and XML or XLS (X) depending on the reset method (1 or 0, respectively) ATTENTION! Without an attached export file, a picture file of the device nameplate and a completed form. Password is not reset.
To correctly fill out the application and carry out the password reset procedure 1) First, install the latest version of SADP software from the link. 2) I will take a photo and save a photo of the sticker with a barcode on the device itself.
3) Run SADP as administrator
After opening SADP, the program will scan your local network and display a list of found devices. It is worth paying attention to the column “Security”, the device on which you need to reset the password must be “Active”. Device active and password set.
Then you need to check the box in front of the device, the password of which should be reset and click on the link “Forgot Password”.
After clicking on the “Forgot Password” link, a window will open, the appearance of which depends on the firmware version installed in the device.
4) perform actions in accordance with the reset method:
Method number 1
For new firmware (5.3 for cameras, 3.0.10 for DVRs):
Now the program provides for sending an XML file or a QR code identifying a device to receive an XML password reset file, however, sending a QR code is not yet supported in Ukraine, so we will consider the option with XML. To do this, you need to export the.XML file (for each device its own file).
Click on the Export button
Next, select the file export directory. The illustration below shows the Desktop as an example.
Upon successful export, a sticker will be issued
A file with the.XML extension and the name in the form of the complete serial number of the device will appear in the specified directory. You cannot rename the file!
5) Create an email, fill out the form, attach 2 required files and send an email.
You send this letter to the address: IT@ohrana.Ua with the subject “Password reset”.
If you need to reset on several devices, please send each file in a separate letter.
6) do not turn off or reboot SADP and the device while waiting for a response.
7) Receive a reply email containing an attachment.
Now the program provides for the input of an XML file or a password reset Key-code sent by an authorized support service, however, sending a Key-code is not yet supported in Ukraine, therefore, we will consider the option with a password reset XML file sent.
In response, you will receive a letter with a file with the extension.XML. The reset file is valid only for the current day, the next day its application will not make sense and you will need to repeat the procedure.
This file must be substituted in this window, left after the export of the file for sending to support. Then you come up with a new password and confirm it.
Password must be at least 8 characters long, containing numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters.
If everything went well, a sticker will be issued
Resetting the password does not affect the archive and device settings.
Method number 0
For older firmwares (5.2 for cameras, 3.0.9 for DVRs and earlier)
If the old firmware version is installed, the system will ask you to enter the code to reset the password to the factory (12345) as in the illustration below.
To get the code, you need to do the following: For now, close the default password recovery window.
You need to send the following information to authorized support:
- Full serial number of the device (For example: DS-72xxABCD-XY / SN123456789ABCD123456789ABCD) (The serial number from the sticker on the device will NOT work, only the one specified in SADP)
- The value of the “Start time” field (For example: 2014-05-22 1:11 PM), which can be found on the right side of the table
To obtain this information, you can use the data export. Check the box next to the required devices and press the Export button, a spreadsheet file (.XLS) will be created
1) Create an email, fill out the form, attach 2 required files and send the email. Instead of XLS file, you can copy the data (serial number and launch time) directly into the body of the email after the required form.
2) do not turn off or reboot the device while waiting for a response. SADP can be closed until a response is received.
3) Receive a reply letter containing reset codes.
4) Repeat step 3) and enter the code sent from the list into the box Corresponding to the current date. Usually 3-4 codes are sent for different dates. Each reset code is valid only for the specified days.
SADP password reset problems
Note: When using SADP to reset the device, it is strongly recommended to connect the device directly to the PC whenever possible.
Error: Get key error
Description of the problem
When exporting a key file, SADP reports: Get key error
- PC and device are connected through more than one switch, which do NOT support multi-cast function.
- The PC and the device are connected through a router, and the NAT function is enabled on both the router and the device.
- PC IP address changed while opening SADP software.
- Incorrect device firmware.
- When the device and PC are connected through more than one switch, please make sure the routers support multi-cast function, as it is necessary for the device activation and reset process.
- When the PC and the device are connected through a router, try to disable the NAT function in the router and the device. When NAT is activated, the device does NOT receive multi-cast messages.
- When the PC and device are directly connected and the PC’s IP address has changed while SADP was open, just restart SADP.
- Try to flash your device, for example Using TFTP.
- Error: Reset password failed
Error: Reset password failed
Description of the problem
When exporting the key file, SADP says: reset password failed
- You may be trying to use an already used or old xml key file.
- Perhaps you have re-generated a new xml key for sending, in which case the old reset files are no longer suitable.
- There may be problems with the file sent to you.
- PC address changed while SADP was open.
- Make sure you are using the current key file to unlock.
- Make sure that you DO NOT reboot the device or program and DO NOT generate a new file key for sending.
- Invite a new key file to support services by doing it all over again.
- When the PC and the device are directly connected and the PC’s IP address has changed while SADP was open, just restart SADP.
On the first two mistakes.
- Reinstall software;
- Disable anti-virus software and firewalls;
- Reboot the device;
- Reboot PC.
Then do it all over again.If these steps DO NOT help, try to repeat the operation on another PC.
SADP DOES NOT find camera
If the SADP utility does not see the device, then follow the link: http://www.Winpcap.org/ download and install the winpcap network scanner, then restart the computer and try to open SADP again, after that it should start correctly searching for all devices.
If all devices are detected normally, but only a specific camera is not visible, then there are either problems with the connection or with the camera firmware. It is recommended to flash the device, for example using TFTP.
