We put a tick in front of the device, the password of which should be reset and click on the link “Forgot Password”
Figure 1: SADP window after startup
A window will open, the view of which depends on the firmware version installed in the device (Fig. 2, 3).
Password reset on devices with firmware: cameras 5.2.0 and below; registrar 3.0.9 and below
Figure 2: If the camera firmware is 5.2.0 or lower; registrar 3.0.9 and below
In this case, you need to Get “Security Code”. For this, we send an email to support@hikvision.Su or support@hikvision.Ru.
In the letter, indicate: full serial number of the device Value of the “Start time” field, which can be found on the right side of the table
You can also just put a tick in front of the necessary devices and click Export, send the resulting spreadsheet file to the above email.
In response, we will receive the Security code for the device, which we enter in the appropriate field. Now the password has been reset to the factory 12345.
Password reset on devices with firmware: cameras 5.3.0 and higher; registrar 3.0.10 and higher
Figure 3: If the camera firmware is 5.3.0 or higher; registrar 3.0.10 and higher
In this case, click “Export”, and select a folder to save the special xml file. The original filename is best left unchanged. We send the file to e-mail to support@hikvision.Su or support@hikvision.Ru In a reply letter, we will receive a reset xml file, which we select in a still open program and set a new password. ATTENTION You cannot reboot the device after sending data, otherwise the data will have to be sent again. The reset file and reset code are valid only for two days. Settings and device archive will NOT be lost.
Possible problems
If SADP does not find the device, then download and install a network scanner winpcap (off. Site), then restart your computer. If the “Get key Error” window appears when exporting an xml file for sending, you need to reinstall the program, disable all antiviruses and firewalls, reboot the device and PC. If that doesn’t work, try again on another computer.

If this happens, you will most likely have to look for a data recovery drive, you can try downloading the image online. The best option, of course, would be to reinstall the system.
We will move on to those cases where it is possible to bring the laptop to the factory state.
But this will delete all data from the C drive, Windows will be reinstalled and the key will not be required to enter. After reinstalling and starting the system, the installation of drivers and other components will begin.

How to reset Windows 10 or auto reinstall OS
This tutorial explains how to reset Windows 10 to factory settings, reset, roll back, or otherwise, automatically reinstall Windows 10 on a computer or laptop. This has become easier than in Windows 7 and even in 8, due to the fact that the way of storing the image for reset in the system has changed and in most cases you do not need a disk or flash drive in order to perform the described procedure. If for some reason everything described does not work, you can simply perform a clean installation of Windows 10.
Resetting Windows 10 to its original state can be useful in cases where the system began to work incorrectly or does not even start, and you cannot perform a recovery (on this topic: Windows 10 Recovery) in the second way. In this case, reinstalling the OS in this way is possible with the preservation of your personal files (but without saving programs). Also, at the end of the instructions, you will find a video in which the Described is shown clearly. Note: a description of the problems and errors when Windows 10 refuses to its original state, as well as Possible solutions, are described in the last section of this article.
Update: in the latest versions of Windows 10, additional methods of system reset have appeared, including removing all programs preinstalled by the manufacturer of the computer or laptop. Automatic clean install of Windows 10 Recover Windows 10 from the cloud.
Reset Windows 10 in settings from the installed system
The easiest way to reset Windows 10 assumes that the system on your computer starts up. If so, then a few simple steps will allow you to perform an automatic reinstallation.
- Go to Settings (via start and gear icon or WinI keys). Update and security. Recovery.
- In the Reset this computer section, click Get Started. Note: if during recovery you are informed that the necessary files are missing, use the method from the next section of this manual. Also, at this stage, an error may appear: Unable to find recovery environment.
- You will be prompted to either keep your personal files or delete them. Select the option you want.
- If you select the option to delete files, you will also be prompted to either “Just delete files” or “Completely clear the disk”. I recommend the first option unless you are giving your computer or laptop to a second person. The second option deletes files beyond recovery and takes longer.
- At the Ready to Reset This Computer window, click Reset.
After that, the process of automatic reinstallation of the system will begin, the computer will reboot (possibly several times), and after the reset you will get a clean Windows 10. If you selected “Keep personal files”, then the system disk will also contain the Windows.Old folder containing files old system (user folders and desktop contents can be useful there). Just in case: How to delete the Windows.Old folder.
Automatic clean install of Windows 10 using Refresh Windows Tool
The latest versions of Windows 10 have a new feature in the recovery options. New Launch (formerly called Refresh Windows Tool), which allows you to perform an automatic clean install or reinstall of Windows 10 while preserving the files, but removing the manufacturer’s preinstalled programs. Its use allows you to reset when the first method does not work and reports errors.
- In the recovery options, at the bottom under Advanced recovery options, click on Learn how to start over from a clean install of Windows.
- You will be prompted to go to the corresponding page in the Windows 10 Security Center, click Yes.
- Click the Get Started button in the New Launch section.
- Check out what exactly Start Over is and if you agree, click Next.
- Wait for the Windows 10 factory reset to complete.
At the end of the process (which can take a long time and depends on the performance of the computer, the selected parameters and the amount of personal data when saving), you will receive a completely reinstalled and functional Windows 10. After logging in, I recommend that you also press the WinR keys, type cleanmgr, press Enter, and then click on the “Clear system files” button.
When you clean up your hard drive, you will most likely be able to delete up to 20 GB of data left over from the system reinstallation process.
How to reset Windows 10 if the system won’t start or factory reset won’t work
In cases where Windows 10 does not start or resetting to the settings does not work, you can try using the manufacturer’s tools or with the recovery environment.
If Windows 10 does not start, but shows a blue screen with an error, then clicked on the “Advanced options” item, you can get into the recovery environment. If the system starts, but you cannot reset the OS, go to Settings. Update and Security and click the “Restart Now” button under “Special download options”.
After restarting, go to the “Troubleshooting” section, and then click on the item “Reset the computer to its original state”.
Further, just as in the first description of the method, you can:
- Keep or delete personal files. If you select “Delete”, you will also be prompted to either completely clear the disk without the possibility of their recovery, or simply delete. Usually (unless you are giving the laptop to someone else), it is better to use a simple removal.
- In the Select Target Operating System window, select Windows 10.
- In the Reset this computer window, review what will be done. uninstall programs, reset settings to defaults, and automatically reinstall Windows 10 Click Reset.
After that, the process of resetting the system to its original state will begin, during which the computer may restart.
If your device was preinstalled with licensed Windows 10 upon purchase, then the easiest way to reset it to factory settings. use certain keys when turning on a laptop or computer. For details on how to do this, see the article How to reset a laptop to factory settings (also suitable for branded PCs with a pre-installed OS).
The video below shows both methods will start the automatic reinstallation of Windows 10 Described in the article.
Windows 10 factory reset errors
The first and simplest methods when you have problems resetting Windows 10 to factory settings consist of the following steps:
- Make sure there is enough free space on the system disk partition (drive C). Ideally. 10 GB or more.
- Remove all third-party antiviruses and other protection programs before starting recovery.
If, when you try to reset Windows 10 after restarting, you see the message “Problem returning the PC to its original state. Changes NOT Made”, usually this indicates problems with the files required for recovery (for example, if you did something with the WinSxS folder, from files in which the reset occurs.) You can try to check and restore the integrity of Windows 10 system files, but more often you have to do a clean installation of Windows 10 (however, you can also save personal data).
The second variant of the error. you are asked to insert a recovery disc or installation media. Here’s a solution with the Start Over feature, described in the second section of this tutorial. Also in this situation, you can make a bootable USB flash drive with Windows 10 (on the current computer or on another, if this one does NOT start) or a Windows 10 recovery disk with the inclusion of system files. And use it as your required storage device. Use a version of Windows 10 with the same bitness installed on your computer.
Another option in case of a request to PROVIDE a drive with files. register your own image for system recovery (for this, the OS must work, actions are performed in it). I have not tested such methods, but they write that it works (but only for the second case with an error):
- You need to download the Windows 10 ISO image (the second method is in the instructions on the link).
- Mount it and copy the install.Wim file from the sources folder to the previously created ResetRecoveryImage folder on a separate partition or computer disk (not the system one).
- In the command line as administrator, use the command reagentc / setosimage / path “D: \ ResetRecoveryImage” / index 1 (here D acts as a separate section, you may have a different letter) to register the recovery image.
After that, trying again will start the system reset to its original state. By the way, for the future, we can recommend making your own backup of Windows 10, which can greatly simplify the process of rolling back the OS to a previous state.
Well, if you still have questions about reinstalling Windows 10 or returning the system to its original state. ask. Let me also remind you that for preinstalled systems, there are usually additional ways to reset to factory settings, provided by the manufacturer and described in the official instructions.
Setting up a Hikvision DVR, as part of the Worldvision KIT-4x1080P-DOME kit
Continuation of the review:
This article shows in detail how to configure the most common functions of the DS-7104HQHI-F1 / N digital video recorder, which is part of the Worldvision KIT-4x1080P-DOME video surveillance kit for 4 cameras. Hikvision devices have a unified settings menu, so, following this manual, you can configure other models of recorders from this manufacturer.
Working with the kit, as a rule, is limited to user interaction with the DVR. The graphical user interface is completely Russified and contains a classic set of settings that has become an unspoken standard for all digital recorders.
How to enter the DVR settings menu
The menu is entered by right-clicking anywhere on the screen. Using the Main Menu, the user can view the archive, manage the archive recording, create backups, set up schedules, activate motion detection in the frame, restrict access to the recorder functions, and so on. Below we will take a closer look at the most commonly used options.
How to read an incomplete inscription in the recorder menu
The peculiarity of the graphical interface is that not all labels and names of menu sections are placed in the fields assigned to them. But if you move the mouse over such an inscription, and wait a second, a tooltip with the full text will appear.
Important! After changing the settings of the DVR, in any section of the menu, be sure to press the “Apply” button. Otherwise, the changes will NOT be saved. In order to exit the section without changing the settings, just click “Back”, or call it anywhere on the screen with the right mouse button.
How to turn off the audible alarm
When the DVR starts, sometimes it starts emitting a loud, cutting hearing, squeak. This is how the recorder reacts to some events and malfunctions. The most common case. there is free space on the hard disk when loop recording is disabled. At the first start, such a warning will sound anyway, since the hard drive is NOT formatted. The same will happen if the recorder does not comment on the disc at all. This alarm is disabled as follows: go to the settings section Main menu System configuration Alerts, in the Alert type field select “HDD error” from the drop-down list, then uncheck the Sound alarm field.
How to set up motion recording at the desired hours
When working with the factory settings, the archive is recorded continuously. In order to increase the depth of the archive storage, as well as to facilitate the search for events in the archive, it is rational to switch to recording by a motion sensor. To do this, go to the Main menu section Record configuration Schedule.
In the center of the screen you can see the schedule of the recording modes for the week, where the week is divided into days, and the days, in turn, into hours. By default, the graph is all blue, which means continuous recording. Selecting motion recording (green), mark the hours during which motion recording will be carried out. Hold down the left mouse button on the chart, you can drag the frame together to mark the desired range, or the entire chart. Do not forget to Do all the manipulations with the schedule for each camera!
How to change the recording resolution
Video recording takes place in FullHD resolution, that is, 1920 by 1080 pixels, with a frequency of 12 frames per second, which is quite enough for video surveillance. Camcorders BLC-O2MP20DIR-H4 can perform recording with a higher frame rate, but it will have to go to a lower resolution, such as HD, i.e. 1280 by 720 pixels, but in this mode archive depth decrease. In the Main menu Recording configuration. Parameters, select the number of the configured camera from the drop-down list in the Camera field, and then in the Resolution field select a convenient resolution from the drop-down list.
How to view the archive
To view the archive, go to the Main menu Playback. The archive playback screen will open; you can return from it by right-clicking anywhere on the screen. To start viewing the desired event, select the viewed camera at the top right of the screen (by default, all), select the event date on the bottom right of the screen (default is the current date), select a time scale at the bottom of the screen (by default is the most earliest on the specified date).
The time scale is divided into 24 hours, and it is inconvenient to find specific events on it, especially if the difference between them is counted in minutes. To detail the time scale, you need to click the “Zoom In” button located at the bottom of the screen, here is the time scale, below the calendar. Moisture detail. Press it again. You can cancel detailing using the button “Zoom Out” located in the same place.
How to write an archive to a removable USB drive
You can start recording a certain part of the archive to a removable USB drive in the Main menu Backup. Copy of the recording schedule. Here you need to select the channels (cameras) of interest and determine the time period, and then click “Search”.
The Search Results screen will display all events that match the specified criteria. We tick off the events of interest and click “Export”.
In the backup window that opens, direct recording to the medium is performed. The media is physically inserted into the USB port on the back of the DVR. If the registrar was able to identify the carrier, its name will appear in the Device name field. To start recording, click the Reserve button. Copy. In case of problems with the media, it is recommended to first transfer important data from it and format it using the Format button.
How to view the system event log
Every event, every action performed by the user is recorded in the system log. In the Main Menu System Maintenance Log Information, you can search for events by type and time.

All events matching the search criteria are shown in a list.
Clicked on the desired event, you can view the detailed information.
How to set up security cameras
In the Main Menu OSD Cameras Control section, you can configure the overlay of text on the image, such as: channel number, time and date, as well as messages in recording and the presence of motion in the frame. Settings such as brightness, contrast and others can be found in the Main menu section Camera management Image.
Controlling the settings of the motion detector in the frame is carried out in the section Main menu. Controlling cameras. Motion. Here you can adjust the sensitivity of the detector and assign blind spots for each individual camera.
Section Main menu Camera control Mask allows you to hide part of the image with black frames.
How to manage recording manually
At any time, the user can enable video recording, and not depend on the recording schedule settings. The Manual section of the Main menu allows you to understand which channel performs manual recording and which one. according to the schedule, as well as enable and disable these modes.
How to create accounts
In the basic settings, the registrar has only one account. An administrator who has the right to make any changes to the settings. If necessary, it is possible to create new accounts with full or limited rights. To do this, press the “Add” button in the Main menu System configuration User. In the window that opens, you must specify the username, password, access rights.
In the case when users used an administrator account to configure the DVR, and after that there was a need to lock the settings menu, enter the Disable Main Menu section and click the “Lock” button. Also, after exiting the Main menu in the image viewing mode, the menu is automatically locked after a while.
How to reset the recorder to factory settings
To reset the recorder to factory settings, use the Main menu System maintenance By default.
How to connect to the recorder over the network
To work in a local computer network, it is necessary to provide a cable connection between the recorder and the router, and enter the necessary network settings in the Main menu System configuration Network. Most routers have the function of automatic distribution of network settings (DHCP) enabled by default, in this case it is enough to activate DHCP in the registrar and tick the corresponding box. If, after that, uncheck the box. the received settings will remain.
To make sure that the recorder is connected to the network, you can open a browser on a personal computer or mobile device and enter its IP address in the address period. It is important that the computer or mobile device is connected to the same local network. If everything is entered correctly, a welcome page of the DVR will open in the browser with a request to enter your username and password. By entering the username and password, the user gets full access to the recorder, including the settings menu, however, to view the video through a browser at this stage, you need to configure ActiveX. Since this add-on worsens the level of protection of the PC, and is not installed on mobile devices at all, we recommend using the video viewing through the cloud.
Factory reset Windows
Computers love “cleanliness”, both on the hard drive and dust-free on the hardware. If the second question can be dealt with easier. just to clean, then with the first everything is not so easy. The main problem for novice users. the desire to install more “useful” programs and the inability to properly use the computer’s disk space, which entails malfunctions in its operation. When the situation is at its peak, users have no choice but to reset Windows to factory settings. Our article will describe in detail how to restore the system to the “out of the box” view for different versions, starting with Windows 7.
What is a Windows factory reset
Let’s start with the factory settings. PC configuration, which is initially installed and is the main one for this unit of equipment. All changes that were made by the user during use “knock down” the factory settings and the computer is considered NOT new. Reset to settings “out of the box”. transition to the original state, i.e. Getting rid of user settings in general, and in some cases, even from files and other data that are left after him.
It is recommended that you reset only when it is really necessary. Please note that if you have previously reinstalled Windows either by yourself or with the help of computer system wizards, you may NOT be able to go to factory settings. The whole point is that if you reinstall incorrectly (stupidly from one disc on which a pirated copy of Windows is written), a special recovery partition disappears on the Hard Disk, in which a copy of the installation version is stored.
This indicates that you just won’t be able to go to the factory settings. you will need the same distribution kit, which was used initially, and not any other (even if the Windows versions are the same). Otherwise, you will NOT return the computer to its original form (programmatically) in any way. Therefore, take Windows reinstallation more judiciously and seriously. if you use the services of the wizards, ask them to reinstall Windows so that the recovery partition is not affected. If, nevertheless, the recovery partition has been deleted. whatever you can do. install any convenient version of Windows using a clean installation method (with the removal of all data) and at least somehow, but create the appearance of a reset to factory settings.
How to reset Windows 7 to factory settings
Unfortunately, the “seven” Plasma has a quick reset to factory settings, which is an obstacle to returning the computer to its original form without using additional knowledge. If your task is to return your computer to its original state, you can use the following options:
- Due to “Troubleshoot computer problems” in “Advanced Boot Options”;
- Using your distribution kit, which came with a PC or laptop.
If you are more inclined towards the second option, then you just need to boot from the distribution and select system restore there. Then everything will happen along the knurled.
In the case of the first option, you need to get to the menu “Additional download options”. For most computers (laptops) this can be done with the F8 key, which must be pressed immediately after the computer starts booting (without exiting standby or hibernation). When it is downloaded, you need to select “Troubleshoot computer problems”.
Next, you will go to the “System Recovery Options” window. It contains some features that can actually be used to boot the system as a whole. Among them, either a built-in reset or a proprietary one will be hidden. In this case, for example, we have the option to restore the factory settings of a Toshiba laptop.
You will need to go to this item and follow the prompt of the built-in utility so that you can restore the factory settings. Please note that all files on the Hard Drive that you used / saved will be permanently deleted.
How to reset Windows 8 | 8.1 to factory settings
In the case of Windows 8, things are more favorable. The system interface provides for the use of the built-in factory reset program directly from the “Control Panel”, as well as from the “additional boot options”. Let’s consider this in more detail to improve understanding.
- In this version of Windows, the usual “Control Panel” is there, but you can go an easier way to enter the desired menu. You just need to swipe the screen from top to bottom. This can be done both from the regular interface and from the Metro panel;
- Select “Options”, and then “Change computer settings”:
- If you have version 8. choose “General” if 8.1. “Update and recovery”. We have the second option, so we select the Corresponding item. Then everything happens the same way in both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1;
- We select the item “Recovery” and we get three ways to restore the state of the system;
- First option. is a recovery without deleting files, i.e. Depending on which restore point will be selected. This is not a return to factory settings, so we discard this option. Second point. complete removal of all user files, computer accounts, etc. The system will be reinstalled from the hidden partition if it is not removed. Otherwise, you will need the distribution kit of the version of Windows that was originally installed. otherwise, you will not be able to go to the same factory settings. Third option. the combination of the first two and additional, which in this case are NOT relevant.
- Click “Start” under the second option and go through all the stages with the “Recovery Wizard” gradually. After that, the computer will restart and return to its original state. The process is NOT one of the fast ones, but it will be near the PC at this time (not always, when the system is reinstalled, it will be possible to move away).
How to reset Windows 10 to factory settings
The top ten retains the same recovery functionality as in Windows 8, but to get there, you need to go a slightly different path.
- To do this, go to “Start” and click “Options”;
- In the parameters, select “Update and Security”:
- Among the expanded list of items (in different versions of Windows 10, it may look different), we find the “Recovery” item and click it:
- The recovery tools menu items have become the second, but we only need one: “Reset the computer to its original state”;
- After clicking the “Start” button, you will be offered two options: a) Just delete the files from the PC (without reinstalling the system); b) Completely reinstall the system and delete the files. true factory reset. You just choose what you need and then you will need to wait until the end of the process to return to the standard settings.
The debate about which is better than Windows 10 or Windows 7 does NOT subside. This phenomenon is NOT accidental. Microsoft developers claim that nothing is better than Windows 10, and experienced users say the opposite, they say the system is more reliable than Windows 7 now.
Sometimes, when installing programs or applications, a message appears on the computer screen stating that error 5 Windows 10 has occurred. This means that the user is denied access. This happens if there are several accounts in the system.
For a long time, we have not had large reviews on our site, let alone such global ones, which are associated with updating / reinstalling the operating system. This is a concise but very helpful overview of how to upgrade to Windows.
