If SADP DOES NOT show Hikvison devices on LAN
First, try disabling all antiviruses and firewalls, if this did not help, then one of the reasons may be an error in the Winpcap network scanner.
Try to reinstall the scanner itself, downloaded the latest version from the link http://www.Winpcap.org/. After that, restart your computer and try to open SADP again.
Change device network settings.
To change the network parameters of one device, you must:
Select from the list the device whose parameters in the network will be changed (the list of network parameters available for changing is displayed in the right part of the program). If DHCP function is enabled, only some parameters can be changed, such as SDK Port (default 8000) and HTTP Port (default 80). The rest of the network parameters (for example, IP address, mask, gateway) are assigned automatically via a DHCP server. If IPv6 addressing is used, it must be supported by the device. As in the case of the DHCP function, which must be supported by both the device and the router on the network to which they are connected.

- If DHCP does not work, it is possible to manually change all available network parameters (for example, IP address, mask, gateway, etc.),
- For all settings to be saved, you must enter the password to access the Hikvision device and confirm it with the Modify button.

It is also possible to change the network parameters of several devices at the same time. This requires:
- Select multIPle devices with mouse to set serial parameters. Which will be available for editing on the right side of the settings window. It is necessary to enter the starting IP addresses (for example, if three devices are selected and the starting address is 192.168.10.64, the devices will be sequentially given the address 192.168.10.65, 192.168.10.66)
You can also select the “Enable DHCP” function to automatically assign network parameters such as IP address, mask, gateway, etc. to the selected devices. In this case, you can only change the port.

- To save all the settings, you must enter the access password for the devices and confirm it with the “Modify” button.
5. Problems
Device Activation Using SADP.
When the DVR (with firmware version higher than V3.3.0) or camera (with firmware version higher than V5.3.0) is connected to the network for the first time, the device is detected by SADP program as inactive (Inactive). This is due to additional security that Hikvision has introduced to prevent unauthorized access.
To activate the device, you need to set a new password for the “admin” user. This can be done using a web browser when logging in for the first time, using SADP, or using a registrar. To activate the device using the SADP program, you must:
- Select device in SADP (you can also select multIPle devices to activate simultaneously and give them the same password),
- Enter a new password for the device and confirm with the “Activate” button.
The program automatically checks and displays the strength of the entered password. Password must contain from 8 to 16 characters, among which must be at least two types of the following characters: numbers, lowercase letters, uppercase letters, special characters.
Program installation.
You can download the SADP program HERE. The program must be downloaded to your hard drive and then installed on your computer. For SADP to work properly, it is advisable to install WinPcap. Winpcap. It is a popular tool in the Microsoft Windows environment that allows applications to capture and transmit network packets bypassing the protocol stack. Has additional features such as kernel-level packet filtering, network statistics engine, and remote packet capture support.
Winpcap consists of a driver that extends the operating system to provide support for low-level network access, and a library that is directly used for low-level access. This library also contains the Windows version of the well-known libpcap, an API for Unix OS.
With its feature set, WinPcap is the packet capture and filtering engine that many commercial as well as free network tools are based on, including protocol analyzers, network monitors, intrusion detection systems, traffic generators, and network testing utilities. The tool contains all the necessary documentation as well as various manuals.
Search for active devices.
After starting the program, SADP automatically scans the local network in search of newly connected Hikvision devices, which are then displayed in the main window of the program. The list of recently connected devices is updated every 15 seconds, and the list of disconnected devices is updated every 45 seconds. You can also manually refresh the list using the “Refresh” button to immediately update information about devices on the network. The main window of the program displays basic information about the network parameters, such as: device type, IP address, ports, mask, MAC addresses, etc. Additional information is also available, such as firmware version, device name and serial number and information about device activation. All this information on the selected device can be saved after clicking the “Export” button in a file with the extension.Xls. Using the program is very simple, you can go to the login window. When you double click on the selected device, it is automatically redirected to its login page via a web browser.

Hikvision camera activation
SADP application. Tool for configuring IP SURVEILLANCE devices from HIKVISION. SADP (Search Active Device Protocol) is a free and easy-to-use software designed to search the local network for cameras and recorders of the Hikvision trademark. With its help, you can change the basic parameters of network recorders and IP cameras, as well as change or recover your password in case of loss. Most often it turns out that when new devices from the same manufacturer are connected to the network, their IP address is repeated. SADP allows you to change device parameter settings regardless of whether they are on the same subnet or different. The software is available on Windows 7-10, Windows 2003-2008, Windows XP. 32/64-bit.
If SADP does NOT display only some devices or a single device
The problem may be related to Incorrect loading of the device itself or damage to the eGoProgram.
In this case, check the integrity of the cable, does the camera react to the closing of the light sensor to turn on the IR illumination? If the camera responds, but the camera is still not visible in SADP, try reflashing the camera using a TFTP server.
Program installation.
You can download the SADP program HERE. The program must be downloaded to your hard drive and then installed on your computer. For SADP to work properly, it is advisable to install WinPcap / Win10Pcap, which is usually done automatically after installing SADP. Winpcap. It is a popular tool that runs on Microsoft Windows (Win10Pcap for Microsoft Windows 10) that allows applications to capture and transmit network packets bypassing the protocol stack.
