Connection
To enable the Samsung Smart TV browser, it must be connected:
- a local wired network via a twisted pair through a TV router;
- with a wireless Internet network, that is, directly via WI-FI, if Smart TV Samsung has a built-in WI-FI adapter;
- using a WI-FI router (USB), setting up a connection through the connections menu, and choosing the desired options.
To find the desired item, you need to go to Smart Hub by selecting the corresponding key on the control mouse from its menu. “Samsung Apps Store” will provide the option you like.
It is more convenient to connect the TV to the Internet via a direct connection or through a router. To do this, it is enough to connect the cable from the network provider to the television “Ethernet” connector. If the type of ISP does not support the direct connection function, you need to use a router that will help you manage your home network wisely.
For now, let’s leave the option of connecting a WI-FI router and a TV to the Internet via a LAN cable (twisted pair). Let’s look at a smarter way and figure out how to connect Wi-Fi to Samsung.
Useful Tips
What will help the owner of Samsung Smart TV when connecting the gadget to a Wi-Fi router? If the wireless Wi-Fi response is weak, diagnostics should be performed using the instructions of the inSSider program, switching to a freer network channel. If Samsung does not have a built-in Wi-Fi adapter, you should purchase an external wireless device and connect to the web using it. It is important to select a USB Wi-Fi router model compatible with the TV model you purchased.
Wi-Fi connection steps
Home network owners who have already installed a router and configured Wi-Fi on it should first check the Internet connection settings on Smart TV. After entering the “Menu” select the “Network” option, then the “Network Status” button and click on the “IP Settings” function.
The IP and DNS status must match the Obtain Automatically method. Then make sure the router is using the Dynamic Host Configuration (DHCP) script and is generally allowed on the Internet.
Do not forget that connecting the router to your Samsung Smart TV via a cable will enable the connection setup through it. Disconnect the cable from the Smart TV and enable automatic setup using a Wi-Fi connection.
Take the remote control and after pressing the “Menu” key in the navigation window that opens, find the item “Network”. In the list provided, click on the “Network Settings” option. The first step will guide you through setting up a wireless connection using the internal LAN adapter. By clicking on the “Start” button, start the search for a Wi-Fi router.
The second step will reflect the search results and list the closest route flows on the Wi-Fi network. After selecting your router, click “Next”. This will check and establish a remote connection.
The third step involves entering the security key previously selected to protect the wireless transmission, that is, the password is identical to the eight-digit code of the router.
Setting up Smart TV on a Samsung TV via wi-fi
The ever-growing line of Smart TV applications developed by Samsung is only suitable for smart TV models. However, only Samsung went the farthest and adapted more than 300 applications, and then there are more and more.
It will be useful for the reader to master the ability to connect Samsung Smart TV to the Internet via a WI-FI router. The manufacturer’s instructions for many seem more than confusing, and the article on how to connect Wi-Fi on Samsung will simplify the setup process and save you time. Indeed, owners of TVs with Smart TVs who connect their devices to the network via WI-FI will have more advantages than after connecting via a local network. Our step-by-step instructions will help you master the process of setting up Samsung to the Internet via WI-FI.
The advantage of connecting Smart TV to Samsung via a WI-FI router will be getting rid of household wires underfoot. And a sufficient speed of the Internet connection will relieve you of discomfort during playback, that is, it will protect the online broadcast on Smart Samsung from freezing and any interruptions.
Checking the connection
After properly connecting to a stable Wi-Fi network, a remote connection will be established.
Internet access will be provided by the built-in Smart TV web browser. If the access key is entered correctly, and the wireless connection to the router or router has not been established, then you need to return to the settings and change them.
The reason for this situation may be problems in the operation of the DHCP scenario for home network access, as indicated by the corresponding TV message.
You can reconnect a Samsung TV via a remote wi-fi connection through the administrative panel of your wi-fi router by disabling the DHCP server protocol and changing the “IP Settings” to Smart Samsung to “Enter manually”. Enter the network connection parameters according to the settings of your router in manual mode.
Connecting to wi-fi without DHCP
To set up a network connection on Samsung, you need to specify the values according to the router’s gateway address, for example 192.168.1.1
- IP address: 168.192.1.403;
- Subnet type: 255.255.255.0;
- Gateway parameters: 168.192.4.1;
- External DNS server details from Google Corporation: 8.8.4.4 (or gateway address 168.192.4.1).
After this reconfiguration, the wireless connection should be established.
As a rule, after setting up the TV in manual mode, the wi-fi router finds its Internet network.
Now it is necessary to eliminate the problems in the operation of the DHCP session, which ensures the functioning of the rest of home gadgets (laptops, tablets) through an automatic connection to the Internet. All you need to do is have the Honor IP address of each Samsung device and TV in the adapter by MAC address. Such redundancy will help to avoid conflicts in DHCP operation, and all gadgets will respond to a single router IP address every time they connect to the network.
Set up a Samsung TV connection to the Internet via a router, it is easy to learn how to connect Smart TV to a local network using a LAN cable. Customizers recommend using a UTP-5e patch cord, but a hand-molded LAN cable will do.
Motion settings
Usually, for most of the content of various kinds, it is better to disable various display enhancements for moving objects. But you always have the opportunity to customize them to your liking. Corrections may require, for example, some motion interpolation parameters. It depends on the specific content on the TV screen.
If you want to see smooth movement on the screen, set the TruMotion parameter to “Custom” and move the De-Judder slider. LG UN7100 TV (like other 7 Series TVs) can only remove jitter from 24p sources. To do this, simply activate the Real Cinema setting in the Picture Mode Settings menu.
White balance
To finish setting up your LG 4K TV, you can tinker with adjusting the settings on the White Balance tab. But we cannot give uniform calibration recommendations here, since the calibration values differ for each device due to manufacturing tolerances. And individual perception of color temperature also varies.
Additional settings
Let’s go to the menu tab Screen Image mode settings Additional settings. Here we turn off the Dynamic Contrast and Super Resolution controls. This recommendation is valid for most of the content. Leave the “Color Gamma” parameter in the “Automatic” value. As a result, the UN7100 will have the correct color settings regardless of the content.
The target gamma should remain 2.2, as this is the preferred value. In this case, the average brightness of the picture will be optimal. We recommend setting the color temperature control to “Warm 2”. This is the typical factory default setting for an LG TV in some modes.
Using your TV as a monitor
In order to support 4: 4: 4 color for optimal gaming on a PC with a TV set as a monitor, you need to set the “PC” input mark for the HDMI port you are using. And after that, set the above SDR or HDR settings again as the picture modes change when the input name is changed. This can be done from the new menu “Home Control Panel” on the EB / Inputs tab.
HDR setting
For applications installed from the factory, HDR is automatically enabled. over, for adequate display of HDR content, some settings are also changed automatically during viewing. This primarily refers to the “Backlight” parameter, which increases to “100”. It is not recommended to do anything else with the settings in this mode.
Samsung TU7000 TU8000 TU8500 2020 TV picture settings
When HDR content comes from external devices that support Ultra HD Deep Color (more than 8-bit color), you need to enable the appropriate setting for the HDMI port you are using. This is done in the Display Advanced Ultra HD Deep Color menu. It is better to connect older devices to a different HDMI port with the extended color option disabled. Otherwise, there may be problems with the image.
If you find that HDR content is too dim, make it brighter. To do this, select the “Vivid” picture mode. This setting should provide a brighter image.

Only games and a monitor mode of use can force you to make adjustments, we will discuss this below. So let’s get down to describing how to set up Samsung 7 series.
Setting up game mode
In basic SDR and HDR settings, very few changes are required for great gameplay. When you start a game, it’s best to turn on Game Mode in the General Settings tab to get the lowest input lag. Use the recommended settings for SDR or HDR. For HDR games, it is important to make sure that input expansion is enabled for the HDMI input you are using.
Interpolation setting
In most cases, choosing the Samsung 7 Series picture settings for displaying motion is a trade-off between smoothness and blur. Therefore, the adjustment of the motion enhancement functions depends entirely on your perception, on the inertia of your vision. Still, it’s better to start with the fact that the settings in the clarity menu are turned off. And then adjust it depending on the content.
What kind of intervention will the settings require? To enable floatation, set the Image Sharpness parameter to Custom. If you are watching movies with blu-ray players (with a low frame rate), move the Jitter reduction slider. “Clear LED Image” setting enables black frame insertion in Samsung TU7100.
SDR setup
For general content, there are 4 Samsung factory picture modes. The most suitable for flexible change of parameters is the “Cinema” picture mode. It is well adjusted at the factory. In the “Advanced settings” menu, set the contrast to “45” and the sharpness to “0”. We go further in order. We leave the color value as it was. “25”, and “Tone (Z / K)” is set to zero. Let the color tone be “Warm 2”, the gamma value set to “2.2”. These values almost always correspond to the goal.
Samsung 7 Series TV Settings
Eco mode settings
One of the first steps in setting up a Samsung TV, however, for any TV, should be to turn off all energy saving settings. Since it is they who are able to change the parameters of the TV image during viewing or testing. You can leave the auto-off option enabled. it does not affect the picture quality in any way.
HDR settings
For those applications that are preinstalled at the factory, HDR is automatically enabled. In this case, the corresponding HDR icon appears immediately after the start of playback of high dynamic range content. Some Samsung TV settings in this mode adapt to the content. In particular, “Backlight” is increased to the maximum. Let everything remain as it is.
If you want to download HDR content from external devices to your TV, enable input expansion for the corresponding HDMI connector in the External Device Manager menu. There is only one recommendation here. Set the login extension only if you really need it. Otherwise, there may be problems with players or consoles without HDR support.
When HDR video seems faded to you, increase brightness and gamma and set Contrast Enhancement to High. If the “Brightness” parameter is set to “5” and the “Contrast enhancement” parameter is set to “High”, then the picture in HDR will be noticeably brighter.
